About 18 years ago I took my then newish R1150GS around the ‘Ring. I remember it was about 14 minutes - I’m still a shit rider. My strongest memory is being passed by a very nice 911 with father and young son. It was very clear the Dad was pointing out the lines to his son by the hand gesticulations and the skill level was very noticeable as he blistered past me and disappeared into the distance. Always a great place to visit

I definitely regard the 1200/1250 as a real hooligan bike. You can scrape a knee, do a little jump, pop huge wheelies and stoppies, and generally hoon it. But stereotypes are more based around the people who buy them, than the actual mechanical abilities of the motorcycle. I loved mine.
@@btgmoto it definitely belongs on roads though. Road riding and offroad riding might as well be different vehicles entirely like planes and helicopters. I grew up racing dirtbikes in our woods and deserts here in the US. This much power and weight in loose unpredictable constant changing terrain is a broken hip or back waiting to happen for an experienced offroad rider. It has no business doing single track trails or crossing sand dunes. It is for gravel roads, and clay roads, dirt roads, and paved roads.

Bike probably gets hammered about as fast as my old KH250 in the summer of ‘76. I applaud your skills and the absolute joy you have a ragging the bike and demonstrating skills well beyond the average rider. Off round France next month on the bike so will see Europe and love it. UK is a very congested place to ride free. Enjoy 👍🏻👍🏻
@@knowledgeseeker1548 I have a second bike (Tuono V4) for my adrenalin rush and the GS is my touring bike. If I could only have one bike, it would be one of these.... Multistrada V4, S1000XR or KTM 1390 GT. All of them are great, it's a personal preference.

When i first got my direct access i got a hornet moved to a rsv mille within months then gsxr then Kawasaki got a gs now love it they are great bikes love overtaking the dodderers on there sports bikes

I have the 1200 lc engine in the 1200rs, and seeing you accelerate throuh 140 when you shift into 6 makes me jealous. The difference in power in the higher revs between the 1200 and the 1250 is definitely noticable 😂 I cant go from 100 to 200 nearly as fast
Love the GS1250 mad lad bike. The bike loves to pop the front pooped the front like 3 or 4 times in 1 km and I NEVER do Wheelies I hope the 1300 will keep the hype. I have a 850 GSA I will get the 1300GS Not the GSA !! Perfect daily driver in eco mode
Do you have data of lean angle, what is maximum angle that you reach with this bike? Some people showing me data with around 55 degres, but I don't belive that this bike can reach that. Thanks :)

@ahsisti i dont ride fast and i like relax riding aswell. i average 30-35k miles a year so going normal speed is better. its just my personal experience with GS riders is that they are extremely slow and sometimes very dangrouse. ive literally never seen someone go above 60mph on a GS maybe its where i live here in the UK but yeah 99% of my encounters have been exactly the same. i could say the same about harley riders. they all seem the same aswell.
@@mrpantur7280Yeah here in Germany it's mostly the same. Of corse some of those guys can ride, but most of the GS riders take their time like Harley riders. I have encountered 1 guy who was pretty fast and familiar with the road we where on. I was there doing my holidays and rode a few roads. He was from there and so I waved so he can pass. Afterwards I was able to copy his braking points, that was a really nice memory of a fast GS rider, the only I encountered so far

@@bishoymikheal Like any street tyres, they do have limits. They're a brilliant tyre for the first lap, but after that you have to manage the heat build-up, as you can/will rip up the tread real easy. That's presuming you're good/fast/aggressive enough to find the limits of a motorcycle on a racetrack. As for the wet... well... I've not ridden on anything better that wasn't a racing wet. They're really superb, on road and track.

In racing, I was never even close to pro. But I was a roadtester and journo for a good few years and have enjoyed riding and racing on tracks all over the world.

The GS is better for this sorta thing. I had an 06K12R and I hated the servo brakes and I was never able to pull a wheelie with it.
