      As an example Alberta is just a little shy of the size of Texas, BC on the other hand is the size combined of Texas and Michigan together to give you some perspective. Yes Ontario and Quebec are much larger yet. The gist is that Canada was just sliced up into fewer pieces of a pie but makes for some large landscapes within a border.

    Brad, great video! This one made me nostalgic, it was cool to see you and Shaun roll through my old stomping grounds. I lived in a small gold mining camp (Erickson Gold) 14 km from Cassiar and took the school buss from the mining camp to Cassiar where I went to school. If I remember correctly when I was in 11th grade (1988) the total school population was 94 students (grades 8 -12). I left there in the summer of 88 and the town closed down in 92 I think. I live in Colorado Springs now but sure do miss those Cassiar Mountains! I hope to meet you at one of the overland expo events in the future. Great content, keep it up!

      Remember he won't be going that way, as far as I know he won't be going into Alaska at all or that was not the plan he laid out. North of Whitehorse is where he will be headed unless the plan changed along the way. Back in 2006 I went up to Dawson City and across over into Alaska there on the top of the world highway to the Alaska highway, and then on up to Fairbanks and the arctic circle, then down to Anchorage, Homer, then around over to Tok to join up with the Alaska highway again and did that section you are referring to back to Whitehorse. That was the worst section then of the Alaska highway but was WAY better than what I have seen in videos in recent years with construction and messes everywhere in that area you refer to and its all due to perma frost I would think causing the road to fall to pieces.

    Just seeing you walk around out there and knowing there are some pretty bad boys lurking around, the big furry brown bear type. I remember a guy I sold a 44 mag to just for this reason, he was going to Alaska and wanted to make sure to protect himself. Hope you guys had some protect, I realize you prepared for that with the vehicles just hope you prepared to protect yourselves LOL.

    • @charlesb4267
      @charlesb4267 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The only protection easily obtainable and don't have to jump through hoops over is buying bear spray. As Brad said before the real video series started on this trip, he passed on trying to bring a shot gun over the border and like so many in the US they do not realize we can NOT carry a side arm unless you are the law or in certain key jobs that put you out alone in a forest setting and would be all sorts of red tape to ever get to that point. We have not had a right to protect ourselves for many many years, we can't even legally protect ourselves with a long gun if someone broke into our house and was trying to murder the occupants. To add to this as of two years ago our Communist liberal government put a STOP to all side arm sales period, only the law can be issued a side arm as no civilian is now allowed to buy a side arm. Any side arms can NOT be passed down from a current holder to their children, the government will then take such items away and if they hear of a person who has passed away and they know has legal possession of side arms, the RCMP have the right if you can imagine to break into the dead persons house and take the firearms. This is much like world war 2 and the SS coming door to door to take all weapons away from its citizens. In any event I thought you might be curious to hear the current reality of Canada and its lovely government.
