I grew up in Arizona and in the late 70's and early 80's. My friends and I all had 4 wheel drives and we would take off from school on Friday afternoon and not get back home until Sunday evening. It never got old. No cell phones or internet just our camping gears and guns. Our parents never worried either, my how times have changed. We would go to Rocky Point and camp out on Sand Beach, those days are gone.
XJ's, love watching them wheel. I sure miss mine but glad my grandson now owns it and wheels with his buddies. Brad, you made that mud hole look easy. Great vid. My group is now looking into this area for a future trip.
Yup! Every 1000 to 1500 feet of elevation gain takes you to a different biome, from Saguaro cactus around Phoenix (1600ft. elevation), to Pinyon/Juniper chaparral around 3500-5500 ft., to Ponderosa Pine along the Mogollon Rim (the largest uninterrupted stand of Ponderosa Pine in the lower 48 states) and the Bradshaws, to Douglas Fir and Blue Spruce at 9000 ft. along the Kaibab Plateau north of the Grand Canyon. There's even a patch of alpine tundra on the peaks of Mt. Humphreys and the San Francisco peaks, the edges of the blown-out volcano looming over Flagstaff! The inner basin of that mountain is definitely a destination to pencil in on TrailRecon's Arizona agenda! Just bear in mind that the season in which it can be visited is relatively short due to its elevation and sheltered nature.
Awesome to see you playing in my backyard, it was weird to hear my hometown get mentioned in a youtube video. Glad to hear y'all had fun. Loved the video.
You have influenced my outdoor life in so many ways. I am a nurse for quadriplegics, I use your videos for the request of my patients. One of my patients asked/said drone camera work might make you work a little easier. In San Diego drones made easy might help train you if you are interested. You can set the drone to follow you. You have such great footage, you are appreciated so don’t think this a dig, my patients just want more of your great travels
Thank you so much for the great work you are doing and it's great that some of your patients are enjoying my videos. I have a drone and my son has his license to fly it commercially and we use them when we can, but there are a lot of limitations these days.
What an incredible trail with (I’m sure), an equally amazing group of folks. I hope my wife and I are lucky enough one day to join a similar group for a fun adventure and unforgettable experience . Great video as per usual Brad, so grateful you produce them.
Another great video of AZ back country. We have a lot of different sceneries here and all can be had in a day or two. I need to plan another adventure up to the Bradshaws again, soon. Thank you Brad for such a great video.
Adam with the XJ was one of the first guys I met in the Overland Community in 2017. He was working for Blue Ridge Overland Gear then. They are based out of of Bedford where I live. He is a great guy and remember him going through all the ups and down of putting a diesel engine in that XJ. Awesome guy with an awesome rig.
There is no way I can drive like you all did in this amazing video! even with good vehicle. Thank you for making such video and for me, there is a lot to learn from it.
the az sonoran desert is a beautiful place, ive been across kofa and the bradshaws, including the bradshaw trail and grave, you have to be there to get the az feel with so many destination points of interest, and incredible views, your video gives that same feel, thanks for posting again brad!
March 25th i was helping with the crown king scramble, and we had water flowing and water falls in the crown king area. I never went on trail that my 2wd f150 would have a problem. Still had snow on the ground as well as alot of big puddles on the road. It gives me a big smile to see the rain and flowing water. That saguaro with the weird arms looked very familiar, but I have only seen the ones able to be accessed by 2wd F150 and F250. But there are so many saguaros out there. There are so many wonderful trails in arizona.
Two minor breakdowns with that many rigs and that many miles? That's a win. And it's always a good idea to carry a spare fuel pump and ignition module. That was one lucky save for the Toyota!
You need to come to the White Mountains of Arizona in the summertime. There are not a lot of technical trails up here, but you will never experience more wildlife and beautiful scenery anywhere.
Glad you enjoyed Arizona so much and it left such an impression on you to return. I've been camping year round out here for about 27 years now and haven't even scratched the surface of every trail to explore. And, I also agree, I prefer Ham over GMRS... much better communication option. Cheers! Pete in Arizona - KI7LIL
Awesome video Brad! Just lying in my rooftent on my jk while it's raining outside and watching your video. This is incredible cool. And it looks like you had a great adventure in AZ.
One of my favorites so far Brad. Thanks for sharing that was awesome. I might have to put that on my list when my boys get out of the Army next spring and we head out that way.😊
Cool video. I have been to that Bradshaw grave site on my motorcycle. Very cool trails and I thought for a minute you were taking the back way to Crown King. That mud hole was small until 10 plus rigs ran thru it 😅
Love that the back of the Toyota that broke down said "Go Prepared" and someone else had the fuel pump. I guess sometimes going prepared is a team effort! LOL
Some pretty cool stuff... thanks for all the footage of the Cherokees. But the reason for the comment... I love seeing the silver beast out on the trails again. We missed her... she is DEFINATELY Trail Recon.
Arizona has a variety of beautiful areas. When I first got my 2000 cc sb super duty in 08, backing up from park spot on a campground, I got hung up on a rock on a piece of suspension on the left rear. In a parking lot of all places.
Hi Sir, Mr Brad. i really enjoy your video, believe it or not I watch it from the start until finish. That was stunning back there. Moreover got beautiful place when you travel. Awesome vids.
Oh yeah you in my neck of the woods. Good ol' Box Canyon Wickenburg we used to go every weekend , to bad you didn't get to see Snoopy In Copperopolis, Mistake mine and the trail its on right above the Box Canyon walls, also Anderson Mill , there so much out here its hard to name all of it. well hopefully you can make it back soon the weather is so perfect right now
what an awesome trip Brad! So stoked you got to check new places out. As rad as lots of rain for the area was I am so not a fan of mud either. Nice job flooring it through the mud though !!
Great video. Lots of great technical driving. Loved to see some deep mud. Living and off roading in the UK 🇬🇧 that's most off what I've encountered over here.
Brad, I'm down to meet up in AZ. My XJ is almost ready. Been rebuilding and upgrading for the last 2 years (as $$permits) all the while watching you and others having the time of your lives! I'm just a few more parts away from being able to keep up. Need a lunch box locker for the front, some sort of fender flare solution, and a tire carrier. Man, you capture these adventures like no one else (well need to include Dirt Lifesyle too). Wait, was the trail leader drinking a coors light in the morning? LOL Happy trails....
This is the kind of video i like! Overland trips. Challenging ones are the best in my opinion. The kind you used to do. Glad to see you in your JK. I’ve wanted to see how it would do after your upgrades. I really enjoyed it! Especially the water crossing. We just need Marcos
Just stumbled across your channel... thanks for bringing us along for the trip. Definitely a beautiful area for certain. I saw the MCPO sticker on the glass... always great to find another brother of the sea. Just finishing up a 22 yr career myself and looking to do a bit of traveling and exploring as well. So thanks again for letting me live vicariously through your trips in the meantime. Take care and stay safe, I look forward to seeing more trips in the future.
Great video Brad! I agree that AZ has so many areas to explore. Haven’t done too much North of Phoenix but I have enjoyed many great adventures in the Southern part! Looking forward to running in to you one day out there! Cheers

I have been wheeling the Bradshaw's for decades and it never gets old. There is always something to discover.
I'm looking forward to getting back out there again soon and see what else I can find!
@@TrailRecon You will find a lot of amazing trails, vistas and snakes.
XJs make the wheeling look easy. They are so easy to place and avoid most objects. Great video.
It was great watching them in action on this trip. Thanks!
Thumbs-Up for the lady running up the hill with a fuel-pump!
XJ's, love watching them wheel. I sure miss mine but glad my grandson now owns it and wheels with his buddies. Brad, you made that mud hole look easy. Great vid. My group is now looking into this area for a future trip.
Another awesome video, Brad! Thanks for coming along and doing such an epic job covering our adventure!
Thank you buddy for leading such an unforgettable adventure!
The Xj is awesome! One of my favorite grills they put on them.
I lead several trips out of the Wickenburg area. Both sides by sides and Jeep. Been over those roads several times . Always a new adventure,,
I never would have imagined Arizona to be so green or wet. Great scenery and awesome trails.
It was truly incredible!
Don't forget the snow! Northern AZ, gets a lot of snow. And Flagstaff never gets that hot in the summer.

Makes me think of my young adulthood days. I grew up in and wheeled Arizona.
Brad is the king of eating other trail members food!
LOL! I'm not going to turn down a hot meal!
Awesome to see you playing in my backyard, it was weird to hear my hometown get mentioned in a youtube video. Glad to hear y'all had fun. Loved the video.
Man! This looks like such a good time!
Love that loop we spend so much time back there since it is so close. Glad you were able to spend sometime and see what Arizona has to offer. 🌵
What trail is this? Do you know where the trailhead is? Thanks.
@@JimmyDevere it’s a series of them but Bradshaws grave is near Wickenburg Mountain loop too many trails to connect pick your own adventure! 👍

5:11 that was genuine, Brad.
Love all the videos and rigs, but the JKU that started it all is still my favorite too.
Looks like an amazing adventure! And I love seeing those old jeeps and toyotas out on the trail.

Driving down that flowing wash was next level, but I %100 agree about the mud. 👍🏻❤️🇺🇸
Wow so beautiful! What an amazing adventure. You are inspiring and the landscape out there is amazing…ty! 😎🥾🥾
I love the AZ landscapes!

one thing I learned in Maine off roading. when in the mud do not let off the gas. you will get stuck. keep the momentum going. great video
You were very fortunate to do this type of trail while the wash was running. A rare occurrence in Arizona for sure!
awesome as always.thanks for sharing and taking us along
Thank you for joining me!
I love the AZ landscapes! Super stoked for the next episode!
I love in southwest Arizona and can go from cactus to pine trees in a 40 minute drive, love it

I like the red tires at your campsite there. They look good your Jeep Brad
