Just re-loaded this game for the new master edition. Thanks for the tip about the "Master Stash". That will be a massive time saver for this playthrough.
Two things: First, I finally figured out that you sound like a combination between Winney the pooh and Piglet. Second, and possibly unrelated but who knows, I'm addicted to your videos. This is a VERY underrated channel. Bravo for being relevant and informative. Your pacing is great theres not BS, no annoying gimmicks, just solid/efficient gameplay. I've been watching since you made the Banished playthrough. Very hard to deviate from your strategy. Its solid.
Oh and the voice comment is just an unbiased opinion. I personally like it.. Its soothing lol. I couldnt watch Pewdiepie for as long as I watch your vids.. just saying.
Chris Strain Trust me, I take all "You sound like" comments as complements. I'm happy that I have both a distinctive and non-annoying voice, and I'm glad you are liking the series! Thank you for the feedback!
Another tip you guys is when revisiting a location that you've already picked clean tho not recommend can still be useful in supplies. If you have an Axe you can chop furniture for wood. Do this if your really desperate and have nothing to trade for wood. Kata is the best trader in the game she will be able to get a lot more out of traders then any other scavenger, so keep her safe. Listen to the radio it will let you know what is going on in the city, it will tell you what's been increasing/decreasing in price with items, example: coffee. If coffee has increased in price that means buying coffee from traders will be pricey but selling it will give you more items for bargern. It will also tell you when crime is high or winter is coming. It will also increase your survivor's mood when music is played. There's a lot more to the game but here are some small tips to add in :D
at the END of day 45 you win. Thanks to clinical depression, starvation, and just in general being robbed too much. All I was doing was trying to sleep as much as possible to see if they'd live long enough, sadly they didn't lol. it was a fun play though.
Im not going to make it day 42 got a kid lethal wonded misha and brunno are left and i just ended the night and they both left the shelter everything started to go downhill when katia froze to death
Hi, Pinstar, you can feed your characters one meal for every three days. You know normal state only last for one day, "hungry" state last for two days, and "very hungry" state last for two days as well. Every meal feed to the character, the hunger would go above one level at its initial state. If you want to maximize the food efficiency, you should have your character feed on the second day of the "very hungry" status. Normally "hungry" is OK, "very hungry" is not very good since it slows down characters from recovery of sickness and injury, and it might increase the chance for getting sick. However, it is acceptable if you encounter food shortage sometimes,as long as your characters are not sick or wounded or in bad mood. But never let people get into "starving" state, because it might affect the moods for the entire team. And do not let roman become very hungry, he might beat someone up.
A very nice strategy. I might need to start over now that I got Pavil killed on the 22nd day. With your strategy guide I now know that I can feed my people every 2 days with a cooked meal. Thank you for this. And if I get lucky and get Ramon later, I know how to take the military base.
EXACTLY! I almost cried with joy when he put all loot into one pile. i have been doing that for most of the time I have been playing and its ESSENTIAL to maxing take home loot. It drives me insane when people say "well i have a full pack" while there might be only 2 water in one slot, only one fertilizer in another. Its like WTF is wrong with your brain??? Did you not learn to count? I go one farther and have a book for TWOM where i record what i take and what i leave highlighting stuff like electrical parts and weapon parts with a light green pen. Also if for example there is a ton of components I record that to facilitate getting them when needed. (BTW i use my own abbreviations ex Eparts Wparts so it does not take long)
Absolutely GREAT you by far the best TWOM player that I have ever seen on TH-cam = and I have see many. When you were on nite 2 @ the Shelled Cottage I was saying to myself what I would pick for the last slot - WATER - we think alike keep up the great lets plays you have a new sub
I never would've thought of using a master pile, nor did I realise the importance of the moonshine still. Thank you kind sir, have a sub and many likes!
Solid video. Thumbnail was neat and appealing which drew me to click the video. Your tips were solid and the gameplay was smooth. Very underrated channel I would say. Keep it up man!
i just started playing the game and i think i wont be able to bypass winter any time soon cuz one of my characters always die during winter, either killed by thugs or soldiers. when a character die I would always reset a new game. this video is so informative and easy to understand so I'm going to subscribe and keep watching your playthrough of this war of mine, and I hope you can go through winter ^_^
Great walkthrough! This should allow me to survive the sickness, many subtleties in this game that are easily overlooked, especially when you run away from rats like a baby! A bit of constructive criticism if you could compile the cuts of your tips into one cohesive beginners guide to surviving This War of Mine I think it would benefit your channel and those of us who flee from rats. Thanks for taking the time to share your tips, take care!
Again, hilarious speed comment. If set on 1.5 he sounds too hyped and clickbait-ish such as your average hyped "gamer" on YT who is only here for the money. The kind of people who go out and buy the latest scams called AAA video games. Just because it's new and popular. The same people who will migrate to the next shiny thing a week later and spend another $1000 on one game to get everything including children's toys.
Best shelter character I'd say. 1 Coffee per day is easy compared to Smokers at 3 cigs per day with many other top tier characters. He can start a build for lower cost at the workbench, and someone else can complete the action to build it. Works for Bruno skills also. Works for all the shelter building actions. Whoever starts it will spend the resources and apply any skill discounts.
Great video and commentary! I'm glad I subscribed to your channel and I hope you have many other videos for other games. I'm not a pc gamer but a PS4 & Xbox gamer, do you also have videos for those consoles? . This is the 1st time I've left a comment so I'm not even sure how I'll know if and when you respond to my questions! Well now on to video 2 of "This War of Mine"! Thanks again brother, you've made this a little bit easier to NOT DIE all the time lol!
Got this game over 18 months ago, but only played it once, and only for a bit more than an hour. It resided in my backlog category until now, but as much as I like the game's setting, I'm not patient enough to learn the ins and outs of the game by playing or reading. Maybe I'll try again after watching this series, or maybe I'll decide I had my fill of the game and move on.
That's the 3 I like going with too, other than my customized self. I am at Day 22 now, and food is short; I want to start killing for food; desperation sets in.
i still like to use lock pick there because it leves me with 1 more slot to use and carry stuff, i guess i can also leve the crowbar there but that would leve me without weapons for the next night... so...
exactly - btw best way to get all the tools you need is the exploit container(s) at the garage. Its easy. Tip - you WANT them to know you are in the basement. Only one requirement - show up the first time with one sawblade & one lockpick - from then on its all free
Would not have been better to send out Pavle, first, he is the Fast Runner and can get the night raid/scavenge done faster, and second, Katia has Bargaining Skills, so you would want her to have had some sleep if the Trader comes around?
Between *constant* bandits stealing my stuff, the super high cost of even the most basic of items in trading, and the depression that sets into my characters from getting items the only way we can, stealing, I just cannot make it through this game to save my life.
it's not can be annoying but very annoying. The 15 slot guy, along with moving faster, he scavengers faster and I think finds some resources that might otherwise be hidden.
Wow... after I watched your video... I realise I have been not thinking out of the box... The dropping materials and stuff at the nearest entrance after looting stuff is brilliant... Damn... I feel I am an idiot now...
I just tried this and went back the next night and the entire stash is gone. Has this been fixed so you can't do this anymore? I'm playing the Final Cut version.
Please do a little ones strategy tactics. I have this dad and his daughter. I just got Brono on my team but so far the little girl is useless I have no idea what to do with her.
Sadly in TWOM kids are essentially a millstone that makes the game harder. They can't contribute but you still must take care of them as like IRL people get sad quickly if a child is hungry, hurt, sad etc. I avoid them in TWOM as their constant chatter is irritating as hell. Mind you in the real world kids are awesome. But I really think adding them to TWOM was not a good idea
Only at night scavenging when potential people can hear it and investigate. Of course, this can be used to lure people for whatever reason. Running makes a decent amount of noise. Running in the shelter has no negative effects that I know of from the Wiki.
I meant that in a *purely* mechanical sense. Controlling the action of individual people while the resources of the home were pooled. The *theme* of the game is as far from The Sims as humanly possible, and rightfully so.
You have a family of individuals and limited time in the day. They all have needs which must be addressed. Over the course of the game you slowly accumulate more items, and more advanced items, that can meet these needs, making them happier. Likewise, failing to meet their needs will cause them to perform less efficiently, and can even cause death.
The Sims is based on the real life of California's blondes and playboys while This War of Mine is based on civilians surviving the Sarajevo siege of 1992, in a way you are right, it was just a really unhappy choice to compare.
Frederico Silva I do apologize and can see how it was insensitive :( I meant it strictly from a gameplay genre standpoint, NOT a thematic one. Technically speaking, the games are similar. In theme, feel, emotion, seriousness, and accuracy to real life, they are worlds apart and I do NOT mean to take anything away from This War of Mine.
Aboslutley nothing like it haha. Dont think hes played many different video game genres. The only similarity is you control characters. HAhahahaa which is every game
3 years later and I'm just finding these guides, thanks a ton
@Kyle Riel same lol just got it for the switch and played it on my phone quite a bit
Welp, 6 years
@@ToKaaa. yep. hell of a sale.
9 years for me
The inventory tip when scavenging at night was the best tip you could of ever told me.

you sound like my grandma
STOP SAYING GOODIES lol you have good videos but the things you say is just irritating at times like poopy pants and goodies
+Chris Strain lol you are soooo right! I love piglet and pooh, now I will imagine them doing highly informative lets plays lol, awesome!
Pinstar tip: "Don't use the stove at level 1"
Me: explains why I keep running out of resources
just start to play this game and find such nice tips & tricks from you make it's easier to play.
thank you
The moment you said 'double click to make them run' I was hooked. OMG, why had nobody told me that!!!!! Thank you :D

The best LP I´ve ever seen of this game. I´ll use it as a guide.
made it to day 45 on my first time playing it, on Day 45 my last person commited suicide. rip
at the END of day 45 you win. Thanks to clinical depression, starvation, and just in general being robbed too much. All I was doing was trying to sleep as much as possible to see if they'd live long enough, sadly they didn't lol. it was a fun play though.

Using tab key toggles between characters.
Using right click on item stacks, moves the whole stacks.
Your guide rocks

Very usefull guide for 1st time player.Great advice on prioritising and strategies and how best to get started. Thanks for posting!

Really enjoying this. I suck at this game and learned quite a lot.
Thank you so much for this video it helped me enjoy the game alot more even if im a couple years late
Great tips! Thanks for doing this. Such an involving, intriguing game. You feel real empathy for the characters.
yeah, the sims but much darker
It's not at all like the sims.
Ikovader u didn't read the much darker part have u
More like fallout

Good tip about the shovel, as the weapon! Didn't know that.

winter is the best season u could start with this game, easier to create water
Agree. Far quicker to get water in winter.

Great guide, I just started with the game, tried twice so far and everyone ended up starving to death or leaving.
That stash thing is genius, I'm hurt I never thought of that feel so stupid
trust me and set the time to 1.5, if u are gonna watch whole videos.

Very nicely done video and efficient! I'll check out your other videos ^^
Marin is a blessing if he's in your shelter. My Workshop (the main, not metal workshop) was all the way updgraded at only Day 3.
Best shelter character I'd say. 1 Coffee per day is easy compared to Smokers at 3 cigs per day with many other top tier characters.

"it's like the Sims only a lot darker" lul
speed up the video to 1.25 you wont miss anything and the video is a lot easy-er to get everything
That's hilarious.

You've missed a pile at the *Abandoned Cottage* at the right side of the house.
Nice video, will help me on my next run ^__^
I feel like this game was inspired by The Last of Us by it's tone, music and style
That's the 3 I like going with too, other than my customized self. I am at Day 22 now, and food is short; I want to start killing for food; desperation sets in.

Great video 📹 😊
Very helpful but one thing: Dont put bruno on guard because he is gonna be a traitor if someone attacks your house while you scavangeing :-)
Thanks for the tips!!
Very helpful
I barely made it. Everyone was starving by the end, but we made it.
I saw that u left stuff in the backyard, maybe u noticed some episodes later but I have not seen them yet!
OOOHHHHH, Poopy Pants!!!!! 28:34
Great video man! Thank you!!!!!!
thanks man this video helped now I know what to do (left you a 🖒)
You sound like Pooh! And I love it. :D
lol bud your comment made me think of Winnie scavenging and raiding the whole video xD
very helpful thank you
thanks for the tips😙😙
this game has a good soundtrack
Between *constant* bandits stealing my stuff, the super high cost of even the most basic of items in trading, and the depression that sets into my characters from getting items the only way we can, stealing, I just cannot make it through this game to save my life.
Lock picks are gone after you use them thus freeing up inventory if needed for scavenging, but may not be worth making the resource wise.
hmmm i would have taken the guy with 17 slots over pavel, but you seem to know what you are doing. also like how you talk and think so i subbed.
a. nonimous But Boris is too slow and gets depressed easily.
Jacob Luna hmm yeah that can be annoying but still
it's not can be annoying but very annoying. The 15 slot guy, along with moving faster, he scavengers faster and I think finds some resources that might otherwise be hidden.
Harry Singh i have never had the one with 15 but he sounds great i will try him
17=Boris Marko 15
will u be doing another lets play of banished with the new mods and iam still wondering if i should get this ive see a few lets
i do not have hearth to play it when shit start to happen. So i will restart until i get all of characters to end
one of the best android games ever. does anyone know any other good games similar?
Wow... after I watched your video... I realise I have been not thinking out of the box...
The dropping materials and stuff at the nearest entrance after looting stuff is brilliant...
Damn... I feel I am an idiot now...
Don't be too hard on yourself; it's simply the difference in experience, with time anyone could figure it out.
I just tried this and went back the next night and the entire stash is gone. Has this been fixed so you can't do this anymore? I'm playing the Final Cut version.
@@chopperdan2021 where? have seen it happen @ garage after winter but not elsewhere
how in the hell do you have the same placements as I do for all structures??? lol. =) good video ty.
its not Pavil its Pavle dude

wait.. are you the guy who does the radio in fallout 4?
If he says "umm" or "uhh" one more time my head is going to explode!!
y didn't u just get your 2nd bed on the first day? Then Pavle would have not slept poorly
Is there a downside to having your characters run from one spot to another? (maybe they get hungry or tired sooner?)
+TheMightyMutt I'd like to know that too.
great question

How do books help you
Caden Grossman Keeping them around improves morale. Otherwise they are decent trading items.
Caden Grossman Can be used as firewood too. I always keep like 1 or 2 in my inventory
How do books help YOU? think about it (or movies or video games or other forms of entertainment)
i subbed you deserved it!
This War of Minecraft
I’m sorry
What's bad about burning books?
everything
This guy is clearly reading his entire into and it’s take 47.
My game glitches out and I couldn't scavenge half of the house... Is that a glitch? Idk.
Yo dude turn your mic up I can I have to turn my volume almost on max to hear you clearly
Eat every 2 dys from day 3 (Day 3,5,7,9,11,ect)
i would eat every second day of very hungry, Stard with day 5 9,13,17
YOLO Dongues I preffer to not let them get very hungry cause they might get sad.
I try single dad with child... its tough
This is like the sims? That's like comparing band of brothers to barbie.
I meant that in a *purely* mechanical sense. Controlling the action of individual people while the resources of the home were pooled. The *theme* of the game is as far from The Sims as humanly possible, and rightfully so.

“Pavil”
Katia you have barganing skills not ADD skills XDDDD
Eik Rasmussen *BarGaining skills not Barganing skills lol*
I beat the Game
I ended up raided on my first night :( they stole all my wood >~
No way! I would've just reset. Scraps one thing but wood is invaluable late game
They should make this game in third person view
its like the sims????? what r u on when you play sims? cuz this is nothing like sims man lol
You have a family of individuals and limited time in the day. They all have needs which must be addressed. Over the course of the game you slowly accumulate more items, and more advanced items, that can meet these needs, making them happier. Likewise, failing to meet their needs will cause them to perform less efficiently, and can even cause death.
