    Fun fact, the opening riff that Slash is playing was something he used as a warm up. It was Axel and the others who convinced him to use it in a song.

      Imagine being SO DAMN GREAT that your “Warm-Up-Pluckin” is Humbly Bequest to all of Humanity as Unwittingly, and (Thank THE LORD) Ultimately..Willingly! I bet he had such a WTF moment that his facial questioning of it made his Hat Pop right OFF his whole head! 🥰🤩🥲

      The first time Slash heard the song on the radio he thought “what did i do?”

    • @marinadiamondz
      @marinadiamondz ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It wasn't a warm up, slash said it was an imitation of the circus music. That's a lie. (Sorry for my bad english)

      @wadegamache485 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Exactly. Slash hated it to begin with. He thought it wasn’t a serious riff

    After my brother passed, my mom got a tattoo for him and the second the needle touched this started playing. This song will always hold a special place in my heart. I'm sure hers as well.

    BRUH. You’ve never heard ‘Sweet Child????!?!! WTF is this country right now?? I grew up in the 80s and started playing guitar after hearing Guns N’ Roses for the first time, this is the most commercial song they have but it still is a banger!!!!! Love playing this solo ANYTIME 🤘🏼😈🔥

    Another fun fact. When GnRs first album "Appetite for Destruction" came out in '87 MTV was just starting. MTV didn't want to play GnRs music (too hard core😂). Their manager went to speak to whoever was running mtv and literally begged to get them on. MTV gave them one slot: 3am Mon. morning, dead slot! When they played "Welcome to the Jungle" 10,000 calls came in at once and their switchboard caught fire!" Thats how GnR blazed MTV. Also in this song Sweet Child o Mine, when they got to the part right after Slash's solo, Axel looked at Slash and said "I don't know where to go from here" and they added that to the song! I always wondered why the lyrics switched up, didnt make sense😂😂😂😂

    Thanks for this. I'm currently pretty obsessed with Ren but even that doesn't compare with my teenage obsession with GNR. Finally seeing them on their comeback tour was a teen dream come true 25 years later 😅 Would love to see you react to Don't Cry or Estranged.

    I love this song so much. I was like 5 & had a crush on Axel... I was in love with his hair. 🤣
    I think I heard (could be wrong) but when they get to the "where do we go now" part, they just kept playing really trying to figure out where to go next in the song... it was improved, it worked & boom... its a hit. 🤯🔥🤘🏼🤘🏼
    Check out "November Rain" & "You Could Be Mine"

    You're so right! Time does fly. I see Axl now and think how much he's aged, then catch sight of myself in the mirror! 😢 Not their best lyrically, but no denying it's a great tune. Nice to see you on Rens' short BTW!

    GnR was the thing that even us old folks could identify with. I don't know how old your Pops is I'm 72 so I came up with Rock-n-Roll and then Psychedelic Rock to Acid Rock then Hard Rock. I drifted to the Blues and Southern Rock with The Allman Bros. Band and Lynryd Skynryd. Then english Blues bands like, Cream, Yardbirds, John Mayall, FleetwoodMac (the early years), Ten Years After.
    Anyway ask your Dad about them.
    Anyway when GnR came out I think my kids were surprised by how much I liked them. Then came a group out of England called The Darkness and they are different with clever lyrics and a bangin' sound. I'll give you a link to a song.

    GNR was just announced at this summers Copenhagen Festival... I am a happy camper even thoug Rose's voice is a shadow of what it was... But Slash is a guitar god who never fails to bring chills down the spine!
    They are rock royalty in my book and one of the few giants I still need to check off my list before they are gone!

      Not worth it. Axel will show up 30mins after the set was due to start, not apologise to fans for keeping them waiting, and will be too shit faced to perform anyway. If there are other bands playing at the same time I advise you go watch them. Probably 2nd only to Manson as worst live performance i've ever seen

    I want to mention again that Dani is a powerful lyricist. This song - like all their songs - is a symphony of metaphors, but I CHALLENGE you to break these down so that if my second language was English, I could see the beauty...

    Whenever you decide to go down this "rabbit hole", I HIGHLY RECOMMEND "Tom Traubert's Blues (4 Sheets to the Wind in Copenhagen)" by Tom Waits (Also known as "Waltzing Matilda"). His voice is so unique that one critic once described it as though "it was soaked in a vat of bourbon, left hanging in the smokehouse for a few months and then taken outside & run over with a car"! He's a well-regarded & respected songwriter from within the "Rock" genre from the 70's & 80's. I'd LOVE to hear your take on his signature song. Link Here: th-cam.com/video/hW2vyytxCGM/w-d-xo.html
