Battery was my Introduction to Metallica. 14 years old, in my buddy's older Brothers car & he sticks Master of Puppets into the cassette player. 38 years later it's still one of my favourites

@@gabejkrebs I thought it was a little "out of order" that they opened with Whiplash, but then went right into For Whom the Bell Tolls instead of Ride the Lightning (which was right after). Still a 9.5/10 night.

I was at both the Friday and Sunday show with two of my nephews. It was their first concert ever. After the Sunday show, I told them “Well, boys, now every concert you see will be competing for second place because how the fuck do you top two days of Metallica?”

In 1987 as a teenager who had escaped war in Afghanistan and moved to San Francisco Bay Area with his family, I was eager to go back to Afghanistan to fight the invading "Soviet Union" army and perform Islamic duty of Jihad and defend Islam against the "infidels". But then I heard this song which changed everything. I was convinced that this music was way better than Jihad. Metallica is the reason I didn't go back to Afghanistan to take part in a war in which countless people were killed. Metallica prevented one Afghan teenager from becoming a potential terrorist. Thank you Metallica!

I just went back in time to 1986 at 1:45 and just saw myself as a teenager thrashing and headbanging during their tour with Ozzy. Man, those were good days and not a care in the world but just pure adrenaline on volume 11. To see them back then and to see kids today doing no different is pretty damn metal AF!
That was clean, fast and beautiful. Never ever forget how much these guys changed the face of metal forever. And can still deliver the goods all these years later. 🤘🙂🤘

SAME!!! Saw them open for Ozzy on The Damage Incorporated tour!!! I was only 13 and my young mind was blown away!!! I’m so glad I had the pleasure of seeing the legend performing on bass. He was an absolutely beast performing live so tragic he passed away months after this show.

I was at the show. Battery was one of the best songs performed that night. For me the best songs that night were:
For Whom The Bell Tolls, Battery, One, and Moth Into Flame.
I could only go to the first night as we had to drive back to Wyoming so my wife and son could start school Monday morning. I wish I could have attended the second night for the first three songs you mentioned.

i was there both nights. night 1, king nothing and orion were my favorites. night two battery and inamorata were incredible. hearing the intro to this live gave me goosebumps! cheers metallica, thank you for putting on one hell of a weekend in minneapolis and giving me and my father, who got me into metal as a young kid when st anger came out, a weekend we will remember forever.

Absolutely my favorite band growing up. They just played my home state(MN) and I couldn't afford multiple tickets, and going by myself is asking for trouble. I may never see them live, but these guys were my musical idols growing up. At least we get to see them via the internet, versus not at ALL back in the day if you were low income, before the internet.....ROCK!!!!

Just as I never tire of hearing it, I'm sure they never tire of playing it. Iconic. Still remember exactly when and where I was the first time I ever heard it. Definitely a 'whoa' moment as a little kid.
