      @@SynthBro They didn't change the design as Vader's and Ninth Sister have the same Red color. However it isn't seemingly Reddish-Orange like I thought. Apparently it's a lighting issue with the game that causes it to look like so because in the areas we fight Gera and Bode there's bright lighting in white foundation...While Vader and Ninth Sister are in dim lighting in dark zones. The guide claims they're all Red blades but in gameplay there is a distinct color difference because of the lighting.
      It's an outright shame though as Reddish-Orange looks great and would show a difference between Sith and other Non-Sith Dark Siders. But it isn't...Though I would love if they do include in a patch or the next game a Blood Orange lightsaber as an option to use.

      @@TheKenji2221 Bleeding a crystal speaks way more volumes to the willingness an individual has to go down the dark path they're at. The lore around kyber crystals being bonded to the user and that the user has to effectively abuse the crystal to get it in that state, is OBJECTIVELY more compelling than just "they made unnatural crystals that were apparently stronger".
      Emphasis on "apparently" because let's be honest, the strength never was demonstrated in any meaningful way.

    • @nickmalachai2227
      @nickmalachai2227 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I think both should be the case. Sith can build synthetic crystals that are compliant to their wrath and naturally red, but they can also bleed a crystal to destroy its resistance to their will. This is why Luke's lightsaber, which he made with an artificial crystal but one that he didn't need to overpower, is green.

      @@미친님-y6j Play it safe, the movies shows and games have constantly retconned the books so general rule for me is its not truly going to be canon until established on screen. the books are too hard to track and there are so many, so as good as they are they never end up mattering to the people making the shows movies and games. They are pretty clear nowadays or at least try to be on what the current canon is and where it fits. right now the timeline is TPM, AOTC, the entire clone wars series, revenge of the sith, the bad batch, Solo, fallen order, the obiwan kenobi series, jedi survivor, rebels, Andor, Rogue one, ANH, ESB, ROTJ, Mando, Book of boba, eventually ahsoka and the acolyte and anything else disney announces will continue to be canon and unfortunately the sequels. And battlefront 2 campaign but that shit gets ignored so hard. Outside of that everything is ignored, even books they claim to be canon they often ignore (happened alot in the sequels), but sometimes they borrow things from legends as seen with the existence of the high republic and whatnot, so my rule of thumb now has just been until you see it on screen its nothing more than a cool story because directors are so likely to just ignore the external material because its too hard to track, and I beleive the team they have in place managing the current canon only manages material that hits the screens. All this being said, out of all those projects listed, kyber crystals are only ever shown in clone wars, rebels, rogue one, andor and the jedi games. On top of this, dagan bleeding his crystal is the very first explanation in any of these listed projects for how lightsabers are red, so bleeding crystals is the only on screen explanation for sith sabers, so that is what theyre going by officially. Anything established in any book that contradicts that is now considered legends, So as i said, even if the book stories are amazing, only consider the movies shows and games to be official canon because they are the ones they seem to actually put continuity effort into now. Once the story makes it into an on screen project, they typically dont retcon it (at least not so blatantly like switching from synthetic crystals to bled ones) so in this case, bleeding crystals made it from page to screen, now its canon.

    • @benboudreau1221
      @benboudreau1221 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@미친님-y6j and yes my undesrstanding is bleeding a crystal is corrupting a crystal which are essentially living elements of the force, using hatred and rage, which metaphorically "bleeds" it draining its pure energy and replacing it with hate, turning it red as a side effect. Crystals can be purified, but they do not retain whatever colour they had and instead turn white (ahsokas sabers) although as I said before, since that explanation is from a book (which that book itself has been retconned in how ahsoka survived order 66 by the clone wars) it isnt truly part of the new canon until we see it on screen. confusing, and unfortunate, but being a film series at its core I just find it easiest to let whats on screen dictate whats canon.

Rogue one and andor are also the only live action star wars media to adress kyber crystals, and this game is the very first time we see a crystal be bled outside of a book. its wild that star wars is so big that this sort of thing is nearly common knowledge yet essentially never mentioned in most of its most popular media.

      I think it's better if they drag out the dialogue, just a little bit more. Using the elements like that scene in the Joker movie. Joker meets Murray. I wish they'd kept it intense like that scene and after the crystal bursts, everything fell silent and then the reveal. They could've dragged it out by letting Dagan Gera slowly talk to Cal and finding out where he and Cal stands. It'd make the scene more intense, I think. Since the audience can tell everything as we see the bigger picture while Cal is good inside and believed that he found an ally. So his naivete here was shown because he found more of his kind, just like how he released Dagan immediately without questioning the reasons why. In my opinion having that slow and long conversation between them before he turns, would have everyone biting their nails as they slowly realize what's happening.

      Well there are different factors tho right. This is a high republic jedi their experience in the field are far greater than Vader's time.
      But it's also worth noting that Vader knew that he was evil for doing what he did. He knew that he was wrong and that's what conflicted his Anakin part. He knew he was doing something wrong but the pain the hurt everything was clouding him from being good again. And he knew it, the greatest battle in that scene was with himself not with bleeding his own crystal.
      With Dagan on the other hand he thought he was doing good. He wanted his revenge on the order, and just wanted to do what he wants, he was a self righteous evil type of character where he thought he was the hero. That's why it was easier for him, there was no conflict or doubt just pure rage and hate

      @@MRbug_423 One of the reasons the kyber bleeding nonsense is so stupid is it literally requires a Sith apprentice to kill a Jedi to steal the crystal from their lightsaber, since the Jedi control the only natural source of the crystals -- Ilum. So now we are led to believe that every 30-ish years, a Jedi is killed or "just disappears" with no explanation? Given that the Sith were undiscovered for 1000 years, and the Old/High Republic eras were supposed to be an era of peace in the galaxy, this doesn't fly with an estimated 30-40 Jedi deaths under suspicious circumstances where either their kyber or their entire lightsaber was nowhere to be found.
      It also doesn't fly with Anakin fucking Skywalker literally killing dozens, if not hundreds of Jedi at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, including the slaughter of children, the cold-blooded murder of the Separatist leaders on Mustafar and his all-consuming rage when Obi-Wan confronted him. His saber would have bled under those circumstances by Disney doctrine. It's perfectly reasonable for people to call out the bs when it is presented.

Which even as a kid, I kind of felt "Meh" about that.
    But establishing that even sith lightabers are powered by kyber crystals, just corrupted ones, makes it make sense that only dark side users would use them because they are the only ones depraved enough to corrupt a kyber crystal like that. Actually true. Obi-Wan didn’t kill Anakin when he lost an arm and Luke didn’t kill him either.
      But Anakins did kill Dooku so I guess if you lose both arms you’re free game.

      Bleeding was introduced in 2015... after Disney bought Lucasfilm... and trust me, Lucasfilm was responsible with this games too

      @@knightatyourservice7512 agree, but at least it was not like just flipping a switch while the sabre is on like on the show and then be called a racist when pointing it out how silly it looks

    Defiler! Desecrator! Kyber crystals are not to be bled! It is unnatural, it hurts them!

    • @drakkondarkspell
      @drakkondarkspell ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's the point. A bled crystal is in pain, it's been traumatized by hate and anger. It's now the perfect focus for a Sith/Dark Jedi who is in as much pain as the crystal. They harmonize and reflect each other's pain back at one another, building and seething like an open festering wound.

    I understand that it was shown to be fast for dramatic effect.
    Bleeding (retuning) crystals was first introduced well before Disney took over and is not new. Tuning crystals was done in SWG twenty years ago.

      Well I looked it up and the bleeding first appeared in Darth Vader 2017 5 that was written by Charles Soule. Or are refering to something else I missed?
