Have the 245s (I live in Asia), and I love them. Feel great when pured, and I'm coming from Titleist MBS. The 4-iron (really a 3-iron) is a rocket fairway finder. "Have" to redo the low-end "unfortunately" and fix my gapping, but it's worth it.
Really good review but I'd like to see a 12-15 index player testing them as well; I feel that's the average to good golf range for amateurs, especially the 245s.
Kevin's swing isn almost identical to mine in all metrics which makes his swing reviews very relevant for me. Please keep him around. I enjoyed Thomas but never was able to swing in a close enough manner to make his reviews that relevant to me.
Just another perspective for everyone out there, I personally saw about 500 less RPM going down the line. 241 averaged about 7000, 243 was spinning at 6500, and 245 about 6000. Peak heights were identical across the board, all felt fantastic as you'd expect

I'm assuming you are comparing the spin for each 7 iron? I think the main reason the 245 7-iron spins less, is the club is essentially lofted as a 6 iron. It would be interesting to see how much spin you get out of the 8 iron (same loft as 241 7-iron). In my opinion, what really matters is comparing the spin for similar yardage clubs. Regardless of what the number on the sole says.

I love how humble he is when it comes to knowing he doesnt like long irons because he doesnt feel like he can hit them that well, as he is still well within the dispersion region of every 10 yds of distance sees an increase of dispersion by 1 yd each way.
Then theres me who is pretentios and should be hitting hybrids, but am like "give me that driving iron!"

I always thought that chrome finished irons had a layer of copper underneath so that the chrome would stick to the club better.
I recall forged irons made several decades ago - when the chrome peeled one would see some copper (electro plated).
Please get a 10-15 hdc w higher swing speed in there to try them out
Notice the one shot with the 243 that came back left of centerline had a 5579 spin. So I know you said you did not expect the open face push shots to add that much spin. Maybe reset your expectations.
What ball do you hit during your test?
What shafts did you test? I am currently playing the JPX921 Tour with the KBS stiff and am considering the 241, 243 or a combo of both. My 7 iron averages 169 carry, club speed 89 and 6352 spin on Trackman. Would you recommend moving up to x-stiff?
I have Mizuno MP-H5 34 deg 7iron. These were early hollow body 3-7iron to full forged 8-pw. 76 years old bogey golfer. 243 0r 245 for me?
the limitation of the 223s was the yardage gaps between short irons was a bit too big, a little clumsy feeling for a "players cavity" (the price of distance and forgiveness?) and the turf interaction not quite perfect in a way I can't quite explain. That's my observation from about 100 rounds with them. If they've fixed that with the 243s my wallet could be in trouble.
I play the Pro 225's, effing love them.
The 225s are some seriously good irons

Thomas went off on his own to do an independent journey. Haven't seen much from him lately, though.
with a small detail, Mizuno would be able to sell many, many combos with a change, if Mizuno puts the design of the irons at 243, and changes the 243 to 245, there were a lot of people who would make the 241/243 Combo because the design the model didn’t change…….I didn’t make a Combo because of the difference in design between the 223 and the 225
how would you blend the 241 Pw-7 and 243 6-4 iron? How would adjust lofts to keep the gapping consistent
You could go 1 weak 243 and 1 strong in the 241
Havent played Mizuno in about 5-6 years after playing them for over a decade. Might be time to give them another shot. Do the 243 offer a GW option (~50*)?
Would be a great time to jump back to Mizuno! Yes, there is a GW option for the 243s at 48 degrees. The 243 lofts are, beginning with 4-iron: 22, 25, 28, 32, 36, 40, 44, 48
I just don't understand the lofts on the 243. It's Mizuno's 3rd most players club behind the 241 and 9XX Tour. Why can't they offer more "traditional" lofts. Is someone who wants a 48⁰ gap really gonna play the 243? They're most likely choosing the 245.
It's frustrating as a higher SS player looking for forgiveness to have most helping clubs be strong lofted.
Just a side note kept the Mizuno T22s 54 and 58 degree. Absolutely love them and hit them long and straight.

For whatever reason every time I've tested a Mizuno iron I've seen a 5-7yd drop off in distance and just never willing to give that up when there's other irons out there that look and feel just as good.
I hear this but for me, they are very consistent with distance. I’d rather have that than a chance of it going too far.

Had the 223 Pro for one year, fantastic when it in the center. Unbelievable feel to them. Have now gone to Paradyms. Overall better numbers.
I’m 56, needed something to get me more distance. Getting 185 now, with the 223s 170.

smash factors of only 1.3--.37 ? Not really pure strikes.
Max for a 7 iron should be close to 1.35.
4 iron should be close to 1.41
I’d say pretty darn good.
For reference, average smash on tour is 1.33 with a 7 iron.
4:43 The Mizuno Pro 241s are *not* hard to hit. A PING G430 iron is difficult to play- it feels like trying to be accurate hitting a garden pea with a snow shovel. There is a new TXG/Club Champion TH-cam video which outlines this concept with a Mizuno Pro 241 vs. a super game improvement iron. Their conclusion is that retail fitters need to stop reaching in the drawer for the most forgiving iron head for everyone who comes in for a fitting. For every gain in this mythical "forgiveness" quotient, there is a loss in playability in some regard. In the TXG study the shovels gained in ball speed but there was large loss in accuracy.
