      @@BuildMontage I'm happy it showed. It was effort but it's getting easier. I'm sure you know because your vids are all quality and it does take time.
      Thanks for comment on footage 😁 I'm hoping to shoot a short narrative with this cam soon and put it through its paces but the more I get used to this codec & V-Log the more I love it...very easy to work with.
      And that Arri handle is beautiful. I'll have to put some before/after pics on my community wall. I'll tag you

      @@Altcine mate, I know how much effort goes into it, and appreciate it, I’m a complete amateur but learning V-log now that I have my studio setup properly and lit consistently I find it very easy to grade.
      And yes I’d love to see the before and after photos - do tag!

    looking really neat and clean. In my world, “run and gun” means the need for internal sound recording. I do like the Pana xlr adapter. Any thoughts for a minmal rig with sound capabilities?

    • @Altcine
      @Altcine  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I hear that, truth is...the camera does get a bit big after a few parts. The internal preamps aren't too bad and they have tons of options for all kinds of mics.

    I've been using a DSLR camera for shooting, I realized I'm more of a videographer than photographer so I'm going to make the change to a full time camera for videography.

    • @Altcine
      @Altcine  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's the way forward. I do like some hybrids but a dedicated cinema camera just cuts out a lot of stuff you don't need and much faster to operate.

    Hi ya .. I have a different question to ask you .. at 7:02 what is the weight of the lens you are using ? I am planning to purchase DZO cinema lens and they are 1.1 kg (2.4 pounds). I am wondering if the lens that weigh as much as them .. can they be balanced on the gimbal with BGH1 ? Not on the rig but I am keen about balancing using Gimbal. Will they be front heavy ? Please let me know. Thank you.

    • @Altcine
      @Altcine  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That lens is a Sigma 18-35 and weighs approximately 810g. It's a horrible lens to balance on a gimbal but larger gimbals shouldn't cause much issue.
      It's a fantastic lens, great image, good for handheld but does require a powerful gimbal such as the Ronin Rs2 or you may get away with RSC 2

    • @Altcine
      @Altcine  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That dzo is a beast lol

    • @Wishva737
      @Wishva737 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Altcine hi thank you .. .. The later part regarding the gimbal.. are you referring to Gimbal from sigma lens point of view you own or are you referring to DZO ? You can RSC2 Gimbal can also balance DZO lens weighing 1.1 Kilo (2.4 Pounds).

    • @Wishva737
      @Wishva737 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Altcine Great. Thank you for the confirmation. Randomly came across that DZO Lens and hooked to it.

    • @Altcine
      @Altcine  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Wishva737 yeah I'm actually considering a DZO zoom myself.
      It's the heavy lenses that cause the problems with gimbals and wether you choose the dzo or sigma you'll need a bigger gimbal.
      The bgh1 is quite small and may even cause more balancing issues with a heavy lens so you may need to use counter weights.
      You have 2 options...either buy the strongest gimbal you can find or buy a small quality Leica lens that you can use on a smaller gimbal for all gimbal work.
      I'd probably go for the latter.

    Great video, man! I'm hope, you will be publish more BGH1's stuff. How do you stabilize the camera? Did you test BGH1's electronic stabilization?

    • @Altcine
      @Altcine  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you and yes I definitely will, I've done lots of tests & used it on paid jobs and image is amazing.
      I want to shoot a short narrative film and upload that next.
      I can only get the eis to work with Lumix lenses that have ois...I think that's how it's meant to work but would have been amazing if I could have used it with the 25mm 1.7 Lumix lens.
      On the 14-42 you can really notice the difference with eis turned on. The 14-42 acts a bit jerky on the p4k but it's solid on the BGH1.

    I love this, the smallrig cage always bothered me with the fixed Rosette mount, and as a person who does most of my videos vertical, having the freedom to put the baseplate in that particular area does make the design look worthwhile

    • @Altcine
      @Altcine  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1
