I think the pitching especially in the rotation could cost them against quality teams with deep lineups. They should at least reach the Semis or Finals. Yes I’m talking about team USA in case you didn’t notice.
Yea, very likely. It's hard to say though just because even average major league pitching is pretty elite globally speaking, I think they'll be fine in all the qualifying games, but when it gets down to the nitty gritty they may run into trouble.

Samurai Japan is taking it home again. To me, they have the best starting pitching in the tournament, even more than DR and Mexico. I think that Sasaki will be their MVP like Dice-K was back in 07

I think Japan will win, despite the USA having a stronger roster. My reasoning is because Japan just wants it more. On top of already being a strong baseball nation, they take a lot of pride in the WBC while American players might not give it their all in fear of injuring themselves in what to them might be considered an elevated exhibition game.
Where’s the American pride? Americans love to shove their nationalism between themselves, but when it does actually matter, the players don’t want to play for their country? That’s absurd

Predictions in shambles with Team Australia knocking off Team Korea today. Korea potentially 0-2 with Japan up next, will be hard to come back from. I commented on a past video, don't sleep on Australia. Might not have any current MLB guys but there's a good blend of young talent and experienced guys on that team.

Don't forget that Colombia, Panama, Venezuela, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Mexico just got done playing in the Serie del Caribe so most of these players aren't rusty coming into this tournament.

Serie del Caribe is played by an actual local league team, it’s like the Champions League but the teams plays with a country jersey. For example, in the Mexican team the half of the players are not Mexican.

PR always shows up in these tournaments. Their 2013 roster was mediocre, and all the guys still performed with passion and integrity taking them all the way to the final.

As much as I like Lance Lynn, and the usa roster, you can't compare Lynn to the Japan rotation, he may be on par with the DR, but will Lynn really hold up to their batting lineup?

I think that usa is better than dr, solely for the fact of the catcher position. If a pitcher isn’t comfortable throwing to a guy who can’t catch (sanchez), he will think twice about throwing in certain locations. I know this as a pitcher myself.

I can't say I disagreed with your predictions, it was the kind of logical prediction, but in short championships when it is win or go home in 1 game, anything can happen.
As a Cuban, I was not expecting Cuba to make it to semis, but man, c'mon the talent we have would have been enough to at least get out of a group that contains only 1 other superpower in the Netherlands.
Korea and Dominican Republic not making it out of the group is by far the biggest surprise of the tournament, I think if Mexico or Cuba (two underdogs) win the tournament, people will still talk about ho the DR and Korea were out before second round. Especially the DR, which are, to me, far better than the US team and FAR BETTER than what they showed in this WBC. I guess the game vs Venezuela, hurt them mentally, I don't know...
But hey, nice predictions, that's the magic of short tournaments, anything can happen. One bad day in the mound or at the plate sends your team home.

As someone who was born in the USA, and rooting for them this tournament, I just don't see them beating Japan or DR. They are absolutely loaded and USA has a bunch of old guys pitching and a good offense, but the offense is really on par with DR and Japan, if it was notably better I could see them winning, but I just don't see the pitching or hitting being better than Japan or the DR. Honestly between those two, it's a coin flip. It will be an amazing game, but I do hope to see usa play Japan, and maybe that will happen with a Japan or USA loss in pool play. We will have to see!
