    I have an IE12/A with three devices wired to it. A temperature transmitter (4-20mA) return is landed on A0, Pressure transmitter (4-20mA) return landed on A2, and a dew point analyzer landed on A6 and 23(?). The first two devices are powered from separate fuses. I don't know why the module is wired this way, or if they ever worked. The DPA appears to be reading correctly in the PLC, but I don't read any voltage on the leads. When I introduce moisture into the system the current increases and so does my PLC reading. The temperature and pressure devices do not read, but show 5.8mA and 12.27mA respectively. The pressure transmitter is a 0-3000 PSI device and the display reads 2058 PSI. i need to get the two working but I am confused by the wiring? Can you suggest another video?

      Best site that I can recommend is www.plcs.net/ - very helpful group there.
      Have you had a look at your programming to make sure that the configuration is correct?
      Each channel of the IE12 can be configured for either voltage or current.
      Looking at the wiring diagram online A0 & A2 are correct for 4-20mA inputs on those channels.
      Search for Publication 1794-IN106D-EN-E - January 2014 for the install manual. Page 8 for details. A6 and 24 is correct not 23.

      Just wondering if you were able to get this working?

      Hello - Without being there it is really hard to tell.
      But - you are running a current loop. It is possible that you have a loose connection somewhere between the module and the field device?
      Also check your programming to make sure that the output register is not getting overwritten.
      Check to see if your fault conditions are not resetting the channel to 0.
      Otherwise it is impossible for me to tell what is going on.
      Hope you can figure it out.

      @@automationstartup740 That makes sense to me. You need to check and make sure every connection is secure and properly done.
      Most problems with analog signals is poor wiring techniques.
      Hope you got it all sorted out.

    Hey, whats the difference between a isolanted module (IF4I) and a selectable (this module)?

    • @abplctestbench759
      @abplctestbench759  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The isolated module IF4I is 4 separate channels that are not connected to each other. No common terminals.
      The IE12 & OE12 and many others have a single row of common terminals that are tied together in the base and the module.
      Both have advantages but depends on the equipment they are being used on.

    Normally most analog input and output devices are 3 wire correct? need a +24v and a COM to complete the sensor circuit and then the other wire to connect to the I/O?

    • @abplctestbench759
      @abplctestbench759  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jeff: Not always. There are 2 - 3 & 4 wire configurations depending on the device and on the module that it is tied into.
      Voltage and current devices vary depending on the application.
      Thanks

      Hello: That is normally the error when you have a broken wire / open connection between the device and the module.

      Hello Camino:
      I have never worked with the BTM module.
      I have only seen it online and in manuals.
      Not sure I can assist you with this one as I do not have any experience with this specialty module.But ask away I may be able to help if I see your question, or maybe someone else that is subscribed to my channel.

      @@abplctestbench759 thank you for trying. Here goes. So I successfully did an autotune on all 4 loops. The application is for a barrel heating application. The only problem I have is my cooling fans come on way to late If I pass my SP by like 15 degrees F they still dont come on. The cooling TPO is working because if I lower my SP by 100 degrees it kicks in but thats way to late. My high CV is set at 100% and my low CV is set at -100%.

      @@CaminoYVerdad1 Hi: Not sure how much I can help.
      It sounds to me like you should be latching the output for the cooling once the temp is greater than the setpoint.
      I would monitor the setpoint and once it is lower than the setpoint by an amount that you are happy with and for an amount of time then unlatch.
      Since I have never used these cards I am unsure what the CV is used for.
      If they are metal barrels in my experience they cool slowly and heat up quickly depending on multiple factors.
      Hope that this helps.

    • @abplctestbench759
      @abplctestbench759  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello:
      Sorry I do not have access to the technical details you are asking for.
      It is a 0►20 mA input - so 20mA would be the highest current on the current input terminals.
      Voltage is -10 ► +10 VDC on the voltage input terminals.

      Without seeing your field wiring diagram and how you have it all connected it is not really possible for me to troubleshoot from here in Canada.
