Can I ask you a PLC-5 question? I am running Allen Bradley 6200 software and I was curious how to back up what's in the PLC. This video is a very good source of reference.
Hi Patrick: (Curious as to what country you are in.) I have never actually used the 6200 software. Suspect that you may be almost the last person on the planet to use it☺ That being said there should be a save program option in the software that allows you to download to the PC and save on disk. Not having a copy of it I can't be a lot of help, but on PLCS.net there is a few discussions about it. Start with this one and then if all else fails sign up and ask a question. Lots of really good info there. www.plctalk.net/qanda/showthread.php?t=46462
Hi, I have several AB PLC's mostly SLC500 and 1000"s and have RS Logix 500 and 5000. I also have the 1771 with a 1785 5/40 Processor and a 1785 5/20. I and trying to find RS logix 5 demo or evaluation copy just to get this this this running and I have loads of card for it from analog, discrete, digital and many more it has the full size back plane I forget how many slots, I go it put up now but would love to fire it up and see what it does. I cannot find it anywhere other than from Rockwell Automation and can't even get my account setup with them anyway for some reason but don"t have the thousands of dollars for it. Is there a demo version of this available?
Hi Marshal: There used to be demo versions but Rockwell is hard set on trying to kill off the PLC5 systems. Last I heard is that they have removed all support for it and if you really want a copy it is well north of $20K for a 1 year license. There are none on ebay that I know of because of Rockwell threatening to sue ebay over copywrite. Because of threats of being sued I have no idea where I can suggest that you go and I do not have any demo's left that work. If someone has a copy that they are no longer using and have the key disk for it that will be your best bet. Sorry I can't be of any help on software but Rockwell has it tied up in a steel drum and welded shut. Hopefully someone can get ahold of you thru your website with an offer.
