It’s a bit easier now with IST. Just get up to the part where you can finally loot the shield and then use IST offset to snag a copy while leaving the chest unopened. No more need for memory storage!
I’m trying to do the flag transfer, but when I select a file to continue from, it just loads the file normally and doesn’t give me the intro cutscene. How do I get it to work
Is it possible to go higher than super high durability & 144 with the glitch? Reapeat like? If possible. Cooking up 2 or more super shields to make a super duper hylian shield?
ALTERNATE SOLUTION: if you can mod your console to copy your save file or if you're emulating you can just use the botw save file editor and give the shield however much durability you want.
Thank you for this! I finally made my Ultimate Hylian Shield + +. Phew that darn Perfect Durability Up + is so damn too hard to get. I got a 1159 durability then i try to ist it just to try to measure another durability up + a perfect one in easier way, the sorting measure haha. It took me almost 12 hrs before i got the Perfect Durability Up +. I wont doin this anymore uggghhh so tiring but worth it though hehe. I used the BOL IST btw. Thanks again El Duende 05

It should, just that it’d potentially be more tedious since you can’t set one right in front of the chest for testing purposes. Though these days you could potentially just corrupt the shield to get a stronger effect in both dimensions…
I don't understand when he performs the load check he basically starts a new game that you have everything and that's not how it works for me and I'm really confused like it just makes me have everything and there's no loading thingy and I still have everything and I don't have the Hylian Shield even if I go to even tide and quit the thing I still don't have it and it's really not bothering me I don't know why it's not working so I can you make like throw the steps but can you make a video about for a transfer
I think you’re referring to the flag transfer section. That only works if you’re currently playing under memory storage conditions, which is when you’ve effectively prevented the game from auto saving for the entire playthrough. Make sure to follow along the entire thing exactly, that setup is probably the hardest / most time consuming part just due to timing.
I once tried memory storage to obtain the bow of light but I keep missing the timing with the last prompt so I had an idea: can't you just place down the travel medallion at the chest and go far away from the chest spawn location to make the game think that the chest is still there then come back
Ah, sorry I didn’t realize this comment was for my Hylian Shield++ video and not my standard inventory corruption video. Unfortunately the Hylian Shield chest is in a static map unit so the dynamic object glitch doesn’t work on it. You must use flag transfer to duplicate its contents as shown in the video.
This takes way too long for the best shield in the game lol. Why did they make it so difficult to know the durability of shields? I loved the poses in the beginning of the video!
Unfortunately eventide storage, and thus flag transfer, becomes impossible once you complete the eventide quest. I don’t know exactly what you mean by original file. If you mean the memory storage setup file that one won’t affect the memory storage run later. If you mean during memory storage, completing eventide would lock you out of getting your inventory back there if you were to die.
How much damn XP do you need for a modifier on this thing? I've played through this game a half-dozen times, and have never seen it at all. On my current playthrough I've cleared all four Divine Beasts, claimed my Master Cycle, collected 257 Korok Seeds, and beaten 71 Shrines. (I wanted to wait until I had the Master Cycle before trying find Shrines) Most camps have 1-3 Silver enemies, and every Lynel I find is Silver. What am I missing here? This is driving me crazy lol
It takes almost 10k XP for the 2nd tier of mods. This requires concerted effort since you only get XP for the first 10 kills of certain types and many enemies don’t give you any XP at all. If you’re on normal and seeing silver enemies that’s a good start, but bear in mind that starts happening way, way before the end. Check my channel for my weapon farming video for details and an interactive XP tracking checklist you can use to keep track of which enemies you should target.

Everybody just says you'll get it when you're "far enough", but I've failed to get a bonus when I've literally cleared all the shrines lol. This whole video is unnecessary. You don't need to execute memory storage to get a Durability++ Hylian Sheild. And you don't need to used it to dupe the sheild. You don't even need the travel medallion! All you need to do is: Never open the chest containing the Sheild. Then figure out how much hidden XP you have in game, and get it to ~10k. Get to the chest. Open it to get the Def++ H.Sheild. Perform Menu Overloading. Then use the Menu Overloading dupe-glitch. I hate to be rude but this is unnecessarily long, and has a huge chance of softlocking if you mess up. You may wanna research on how to use Menu Overloading and make a revised video
This video isn’t about getting a durability+ shield, it’s about getting the maximum durability and guard simultaneously on the same shield. The method you’ve presented wouldn’t result in a single shield with both max durability and high shield guard. People who’ve used this guide recently have essentially replaced the memory storage portion with IST so they can measure a perfect durability up shield, then used WMC to add maximum guard up to it. For measuring they’ve used inventory corruption onto arrows to get a direct number, too. No need for menu overloading!

I've 100%'ed the game on my normal mode save and am playing it now on my master mode save... perhaps durability up+ will have to suffice lol. glitches are spoiling us BOTW players
Same value for nm vs mm. It requires a ton of experience though, nearly 10k whereas the first tier of upgrade unlocks at a mere 7k or so (iirc). Check my weapon farming video and keep grinding I guess… or corrupt it with +120 guards using WMC.
Is a hylian shield with modifiers worth currupting when I try currupting it or the radiant shield with durability up + after I currupt it it isn't shiny anymore?? Will the shield still have the durability of it with the modifier or change durability?
Can you just do the travel maddalion, (don’t know if I spelled that right) and fill your inventory on a normal master mode save because for me I haven’t been able to do memory storage it just haven’t clicked with me able to do it but I also just want to get the shield on my master mode save would it work if I fill my inventory and just do what you did for finding a shield you like?
@@ElDuende05 I don’t even do anything different. Just optimized a route to get full upgraded in just 1 blood moon. I don’t do the death reset stuff either. Lost about 24 hours of gameplay to that in like 3 different runs.
Sometimes refining the same process is itself pretty fun. I know I ran through Pitioss ruins several times before I made my video guide and it really grew on me.
I’ve done it 13 times ;). I may successfully do it one day but, yeah, I changed a few things since the first time I tried it and I enjoy spending time in these no-save files
If you upgrade the bomb rune will it take less time to measure, if so how many times do I need to bomb the shield for best hylian shield? I've measured like 20 shields now and I'm pretty fed up with it and I just want to know if there's a faster way
Technically yes, there is a faster way now with IST. You could write the shield's durability directly to a stack of arrows to directly measure it. But explaining that is difficult, so bomb measurement is probably still easier. Bomb and bomb + cause same damage to shield, but bomb+ recharges much faster. Each bomb should do 30 damage, so best shield is 1160 = 38 bombs 20 shields surfs.
thanks for the tip about using bombs to count, the way i was getting an estimate was by running out of the dungeon, dup the shield, and getting beamed at by 2 guardians on the castle, which was very tricky, then when it was the max number of beams to break it i duped again and just started hopping on it, your method will save me plenty of time and it seems easier too, thank you. ima get this 1160 now c:
You might be able to transfer that shield in from a side file. Don’t overwrite your main save if you want to try. Alternatively you could just use WMC to make a shield stronger than any naturally occurring one could be.
It is, and most of the info is even still useful, though I’d use IST transfer rather than memory storage to loot the shield without consuming the chest.
Yep. Once you have enough XP to get the upgraded Hylian Shield, place your travel medallion in front of the chest, free up at least one shield spot, and make a hard save. Keep looting the chest and measuring the shield until you find a keeper. Place it on a mount at home. Generate enough offset slots to go negative, then autosave / close game / restart to nuke your inventory. Pick up the shield from the wall, generate 6 arrowless slots, drop everything else, and load your target file to transfer just the shield there. Autosave / close game / restart to apply the shield to that file while keeping the chest unopened. Repeat for the other modifier, then transfer the durability up one’s durability to the guard up one to make your Hylian Shield++. You can also leave the chest unopened so you can go back later for more OP shields.
or alternitavely if you don't have any unspendable korok seeds or unsellable armor, do the same first few steps (get xp, place medallion have at least one shield spot open, hard save, and loot until you find a good shield) then go generate enough offsets to cover your key items (make sure you got rid of any spirit orbs or korok seeds) and one more sell all armor, food and ingredients, drop and pick up the hylian shield, making sure it is in the last slot make sure there are no extra items in your inventory, and reload your hard save, make sure you have the shield and no duplicate stacks of arrows, and go trigger an autosave (if you are feeling ballsy you can manual save, but this is VERY ill advised as you can easily screw up your save) now close your game and reload the autosave. Either way you don't need to do any of that a second time for the second shield, you just need to loot the same way you did for the first shield until you find the second shield. If you do have unsellable armor, and you are struggling with the arrowless offsets, they technically don't need to be arrowless, but you have to get 6 more multishot bows after you nuke your inventory...

Can you find a way to get the durability up even after you mess up and get the shield without the buffs? I screwed up and got it to early.. With all the glitches found in this game in refuse to believe that there isnt a way to do it😤 thanks in advance
You could play another game in parallel on the other mode or only in autosaves and farm one there, then transfer back to the primary. At that point though you may as well start a new profile and do it clean.
Still takes a long time to get one with the maximum durability, which translates directly into maximum durability for other weapon types as well as arrows.
i hope they allow combo perks n BotW 2...sooo we dont have to hack our game...if dev gives us what we want n 1st place...then we dont have go to this extreme to get what we rlly want...

I’ve watched the video 5 times and still have a lot of questions. 1. At the beginning, do we have to do another no save run but also beat every single enemy 10 times? 2. If I do this do I have to erase my save? 3. Can I do this in master mode. I am so confused
This guide predates IST, and Ruth they you don’t need to do shy no save runs. Instead hard save before you loot the chest, then use autosaves until you find a keeper. Once you have that, follow the steps from the new IST BoL video except put this shield on the house mount instead of going to get the BoL (or in addition ui if you want both). Once you get to the arrowless setup steps make one extra slot, then transfer the shield into your main save. Repeat for the second modifier and combine them.

You can save in front of the chest and then try opening it to check if you have enough XP, but before doing that I'd recommend at least having the last Lynel upgrade, since that comes well before the shield threshold is met.
You still need a couple thousand XP after that unfortunately. Remember that you only get xp for the first 10 kills for any enemy type so you need to switch after that. If you face the fine guardian farming that’s pretty quick xp in hyrule castle / field.
Will you still gain XP if you kill a Guardian Skywatcher (or any Guardian besides Scouts) if you use Ancient Arrows to defeat them? I'm wondering bc I hardly ever use Bomb Arrows or other arrows to kill them or parry their beams.

After this, I plan on getting the BoL, transfering it to MasterMode, then playing through the game again to get the max guard one again, combining the two, and then trying the IST Modifier Corruption to get the MAX guard and the BoL, then somehow getting the 10-shot BoL! I understood like none of that, but i think i get the idea I just have to know The Hylian shield on its own has over ten times the durability of the next toughest shield, so it can survive roughly 25 guardian blasts, and its guard is nearly unmatched and so can effortlessly block the strongest of blows So why the fuck do you need one with increased durability and guard Even if you somehow manage to break it, all you need is 3k rupees and you get another perfect shield to last another lifetime. With how long it takes to break the thing, it should be more like 30k Zelda glitchers are some of the most interesting people. Like how do yall find this shit
People want these sorts of things either for the bragging rights or for the challenge of acquiring something which should in theory be impossible. The BotW community has continued to discover interesting and practical glitches for 5 straight years now and I’m sure there’s more to come with the sequel coming soon.

My prediction is many of the physics based glitches (such as windbomb) might work in some form since it’s impossible to test all cases, but glitches like memory storage and blss might get fixed. We will probably find other insane tricks with all the new abilities and gear though.

Do you have to the glitch to increase your shield’s durability? When doing the durability measurement does it randomizes the durability of the shield each time?
Great tutorial! However I can't do the durability transfer bit - I assume the transfer is done via the common menu overload glitch by dropping multi-shot bows equipped with shock arrows? I'm familiar with this glitch and use it all the time. Problem is, I don't know how it's possible to de-sync one Hylian Shield from another. Since they both have the same 3D model, the shield still switches in-game even though they don't show up in the menu. So Link still ends up holding the lower durability shield anyways.
The desync should work but if it’s not for you you can transfer to an intermediate shield and then the target one. You can also do this with PE now for full durability transfer.
Damn that is very awesome must have take you days to make all of this i assume you used Flag Transfer to have 28 Hearts and 3 Stamina Wheels cuz i saw many Incompleted Shrines jaja and gain that Crazy Amount of XP i say it took you almost a Week if not mistaken still that is the perfect New Game+ i would say jaja funny thing is the master sword Fully Powered with Durability of 800 it has 3995 hits before it breaks amd if you have 1160 it have 5800 of Durability practically Indestructable cuz the Master Sword Full Power takes around 5 hits before losing 1points of durability tested it on PC with a Editor that's why it has more durability than other weapons in the game. Still y enyoy this video
Thanks! It took quite some time. I usually use a combination of doing a few shrines and then turning in my spirit orbs while in eventide storage to get my hearts. Flag transfer also works but I find it’s a bit slower that way.
@@ElDuende05 i gotta say doing all that and specially in master mode to get the strongest enemies right of the bat and earn XP the thing is now i want to start again the No Save Run to get the Durability Up+ And Guard Up of 54 and have those 116K of Arrows and Durability of weapons and bows but having to do the Memory Storage jaja that is what keeps me from doing it i spend like 3 hours doing im like doing that again mmmmmm i don't mind playing it in master mode is just the memory storage the real annoying part the No save run is much easier i swear and with durability transfer it makes it more easy cuz enemies regenerate way to fast so i guess we can say that durability transfer compensate for super regen of enemies jaja so i guess you go and destroy the Blights First since the 4 of them gives you 1200 in total and then go on a Murder Spree of Big Enemies to get those XP Really fast Gotta be hard see how many points you obtain i guess you calculate them or something to keep track of the points really.
I explain my XP route in detail in my weapon farming tutorial, but you’ve basically highlighted the fastest XP. You can squeeze a bit more out of the Lynels by defeating them in increasing rank before they upgrade, but you still need more XP from other sources even if you maximize that XP.

This is during a memory storage run. (The no save/death part) So no. But look at his videos on the new glitch that was recently discovered called IST. You can do this on any save now as long as you haven't looted the Hylian Shield on the save you want to do it on. IST can also give you any modifier you want on any equip-able gear. It's still a new glitch and being tested and optimized for easier setup but it's some next level stuff. Like a 165+ Damage Master Sword, a 10 shot Bow of Light and a 202 Shield Guard Hylian Shield!
Well you don’t exactly load a save, you view the load screen to prevent a soft lock later (it’s called a load check). Then you return to title and start a “new” game, but because of memory storage all your flags get transferred. You can then warp to eventide without syncing your inventory to get all your items back and pickup where you left off. This allows for recovery from a death or in this case, looting the same chest multiple times. You should check out IST though, it allows you to do this and more on an already progressed file with fewer restrictions.

Yes, you can. I cover all the steps in the video to avoid saving / reloading, but the flag transfer steps at 3:20 are the most important. The idea is you repeatedly loot the chest but return to title to avoid the game setting the flag that marks you having opened it. This allows you to get as many different shields as you need.

I left my travel medallion in the lockup and come back every once in a while. every time I open the chest, it’s the normal shield. My question is,could I have screwed something up so it will always be that shield. I saved before opening and reloaded every time. When I warp into the room the chest is already there. So… maybe I should of saved the game before starting the fight?
As long as the chest still has a shield in it you can get modifiers. My guess is you don’t have enough XP yet since you need a truly staggering amount. Just playing for a long time won’t get you there either; you need to actively seek out high powered enemies and switch after 10 of every type. For some perspective, even if you killed 10 of every tier of Lynel from red to gold, which would require numerous blood moons to even do, you would only have just over half the XP required for the level 1 shield modifier and less than half that required for max level.
Take a look at my weapon farming video for some help here; I included an interactive XP tracking spreadsheet that will be helpful for this specifically.
You sure can, and it'll retain its special properties. It's a good idea to duplicate it and store a copy on your wall at home too just in case you ever mess up your original one somehow.
I just successfully got the bow of light on normal mode and then realized i missed out of this ++ shield when i wanted a basically perfect save file. If I get the hylian shield thats in hyrule castle currently, is there a way to then transfer all my items to a new save so i can get a second hylian shield and combine them? I feel so stupid too because i have the hylian shield from my bow of light run i wish i made it shield up +54. Also I have one question did you edit the Durability/Guard up + at the end or does it actually show that when you do the durability transfer glitch?
Unfortunately there's no way to acquire two Hylian Shields with different modifiers this go around, nor is there a way to transfer your items out of a regular playthrough or NG+ into another instance of NG+ once your game autosaves. If your current shield from memory storage was either +54 guard or 1160 durability, you could get the other one this playthrough and then combine them, but it sounds like that ship has sailed. You'd have to do memory storage again. I did the same thing before I found out about Inventory Corruption Chaining. This time around you could try Inventory Corruption Chaining for a "true" perfect file with weapons and bows at 1160 durability, arrows at 116k each, a Hylian Shield++, and a Bow of Light all on one file. As for your last question, the shield itself does not have special text, nor does it glow with black flames. I did that through editing; it will show the text for the guard up + shield. You also can't actually cook it, although with the new item hold smuggling stuff people found recently maybe you can?

@@matalim789 What exactly do you mean by "forced save" file? Is that an auto-save on your file somewhere? During memory storage you're not supposed to do any file loading, so you may have broken your setup already.
I don’t think any saves are made until you get into NG+, so if you decide to bail and quit the game during memory storage you should find your original saves intact. If you do play through til the end though, a safe will be overwritten during the start of NG+.

If you’ve looted the chest in the castle, sadly no, unless you got one of the two best upgrades. If that’s the case, and you finish MS, you can get the other upgrade during NG+ and combine them there (although you’d have to re-earn the XP again).
I need to make an updated guide. You can now get 1160 durability, 330 displayed guard (210 actual), and surf stats almost as good as the radiant shield at the same time. I shall call the guide, Hylian Shield+++ Tutorial, and maybe I should do that for 5k subs lol.
That was painstakingly hand crafted VFX. While you can actually cook things like key items, weapons are unfortunately not possible with current game knowledge.
I find it kinda hilarious that you can now actually cook recipes including weird items like sheikah slate etc. I wonder if my dream of a Hylian shield soup can become a reality?
@@ElDuende05 hahah probably not. But there is actually a shit ton of recipes you probably never heard of, such as mighty milk, mighty monster stew, mighty hot buttered apple, electro monster curry. All high level dishes! I made these discoveries in the very beginning but nobody paid attention lol
You need to gain enough XP from defeating enemies. You get XP for the first ten kills generally, so you have to switch things up. It takes a lot of XP and I recommend using the tracking spreadsheet in my weapon farming video to help.
The trial of wood could theoretically give you inventory storage, but I’d worry that when the korok equips you with the korok gear it might prematurely sync your inventory and you’d lose what you had before the reset.
I don’t know about the trial of the sword. There’s a chance it might sync your inventory when you enter like it does for shrines since it will switch maps.
On my main master save, I Filled my entire inventory with shields then went to get the Hylian shield and tried to see if I can get a modifier but I was not high enough in enemy scaling so I left it in the chest but the game still realize that you’ve got it so in Tarrytown you can pretty much have a hylian shield to make up for you not having one so you can still have a really good shield but also get a modifier later on

The full shield inventory -> buy from Granté trick is a good way to get a shield and maintain the ability to farm a better modified version later. You can also IST to transfer a copy and leave the chest unopened and avoid having to complete the whole Tarreytown story arc.
Getting one shield of both modifiers requires memory storage. You can get both during memory storage or you can get one during memory storage and the other later during ng+, but if you want to take advantage of the high durability shield for inventory corruption you’ll want to get at least the durability up+ one in memory storage.
You can set up the dual shields and then combine them in memory storage on master mode, then watch a memory cutscene to reenable saves. If you want to use the durability+ shield for master mode inventory corruption, however, that won’t work since your game will change to normal mode at the start of ng+.

Unfortunately, flag transfer only works during memory storage. Also if you just want the ultimate shield and aren’t going for ng+, you can do the memory storage play through in master mode. Once you have both shields in your inventory you can watch a memory to re-enable auto saving and enter a shrine or something to trigger a save. This will overwrite your master mode save, so if you don’t want to lose either play through you can do this on a new profile if you prefer.
One more note: if you try to do memory storage in master mode and keep playing through until ng+, your game will sadly become a normal mode save and overwrite your normal mode progress.
Ah, that was a dramatization and clever editing. You can't actually cook shields in game. You combine them using standard menu overload and durability transfer once you get both.
@@Weso-ez5cu What I would do is duplicate both first onto separate mounts in the house (just to make sure you have a fallback if anything gets messed up). Then do the following: Equip 1160 durability shield -> overload menu -> switch to 144 guard shield -> shield hop This should transfer 1159 durability onto the 144 guard shield. You can then separately duplicate this hybrid shield and measure it once more if you want to verify it has 1159 durability.

so by doing memory story storage, I have to play the whole game again from scratch and get the prerequisites without dying? do you only do this once? does "flag transfer" transfers the hylian shield to your main save file? if so, will it still work if you have gotten the shield already in your main file?

It’s a bit easier now with IST. Just get up to the part where you can finally loot the shield and then use IST offset to snag a copy while leaving the chest unopened. No more need for memory storage!

Thank you for this! I finally made my Ultimate Hylian Shield + +. Phew that darn Perfect Durability Up + is so damn too hard to get. I got a 1159 durability then i try to ist it just to try to measure another durability up + a perfect one in easier way, the sorting measure haha. It took me almost 12 hrs before i got the Perfect Durability Up +. I wont doin this anymore uggghhh so tiring but worth it though hehe. I used the BOL IST btw. Thanks again El Duende 05

I think you’re referring to the flag transfer section. That only works if you’re currently playing under memory storage conditions, which is when you’ve effectively prevented the game from auto saving for the entire playthrough. Make sure to follow along the entire thing exactly, that setup is probably the hardest / most time consuming part just due to timing.

I once tried memory storage to obtain the bow of light but I keep missing the timing with the last prompt so I had an idea: can't you just place down the travel medallion at the chest and go far away from the chest spawn location to make the game think that the chest is still there then come back
The bow of light isn’t in a chest and there isn’t a chest involved in the prompts to activate memory storage. Which chest did you mean?

Ah, sorry I didn’t realize this comment was for my Hylian Shield++ video and not my standard inventory corruption video. Unfortunately the Hylian Shield chest is in a static map unit so the dynamic object glitch doesn’t work on it. You must use flag transfer to duplicate its contents as shown in the video.
This takes way too long for the best shield in the game lol. Why did they make it so difficult to know the durability of shields? I loved the poses in the beginning of the video!

Unfortunately eventide storage, and thus flag transfer, becomes impossible once you complete the eventide quest. I don’t know exactly what you mean by original file. If you mean the memory storage setup file that one won’t affect the memory storage run later. If you mean during memory storage, completing eventide would lock you out of getting your inventory back there if you were to die.

How much damn XP do you need for a modifier on this thing? I've played through this game a half-dozen times, and have never seen it at all.
On my current playthrough I've cleared all four Divine Beasts, claimed my Master Cycle, collected 257 Korok Seeds, and beaten 71 Shrines. (I wanted to wait until I had the Master Cycle before trying find Shrines) Most camps have 1-3 Silver enemies, and every Lynel I find is Silver. What am I missing here? This is driving me crazy lol
It takes almost 10k XP for the 2nd tier of mods. This requires concerted effort since you only get XP for the first 10 kills of certain types and many enemies don’t give you any XP at all. If you’re on normal and seeing silver enemies that’s a good start, but bear in mind that starts happening way, way before the end. Check my channel for my weapon farming video for details and an interactive XP tracking checklist you can use to keep track of which enemies you should target.

This whole video is unnecessary. You don't need to execute memory storage to get a Durability++ Hylian Sheild. And you don't need to used it to dupe the sheild.
You don't even need the travel medallion!
All you need to do is:
Never open the chest containing the Sheild.
Then figure out how much hidden XP you have in game, and get it to ~10k.
Get to the chest.
Open it to get the Def++ H.Sheild.
Perform Menu Overloading.
Then use the Menu Overloading dupe-glitch.
I hate to be rude but this is unnecessarily long, and has a huge chance of softlocking if you mess up.
You may wanna research on how to use Menu Overloading and make a revised video
This video isn’t about getting a durability+ shield, it’s about getting the maximum durability and guard simultaneously on the same shield.
The method you’ve presented wouldn’t result in a single shield with both max durability and high shield guard. People who’ve used this guide recently have essentially replaced the memory storage portion with IST so they can measure a perfect durability up shield, then used WMC to add maximum guard up to it. For measuring they’ve used inventory corruption onto arrows to get a direct number, too. No need for menu overloading!

Using durability transfer. You transfer the higher durability down to the guard up one and the result is essentially both modifiers.
I've 100%'ed the game on my normal mode save and am playing it now on my master mode save... perhaps durability up+ will have to suffice lol. glitches are spoiling us BOTW players
I have seen guard up of +54. Is this only master mode? What is the highest guard up for normal mode
Same value for nm vs mm. It requires a ton of experience though, nearly 10k whereas the first tier of upgrade unlocks at a mere 7k or so (iirc). Check my weapon farming video and keep grinding I guess… or corrupt it with +120 guards using WMC.

@@ElDuende05 I don’t even do anything different. Just optimized a route to get full upgraded in just 1 blood moon. I don’t do the death reset stuff either. Lost about 24 hours of gameplay to that in like 3 different runs.
Sometimes refining the same process is itself pretty fun. I know I ran through Pitioss ruins several times before I made my video guide and it really grew on me.

If you upgrade the bomb rune will it take less time to measure, if so how many times do I need to bomb the shield for best hylian shield? I've measured like 20 shields now and I'm pretty fed up with it and I just want to know if there's a faster way
Technically yes, there is a faster way now with IST. You could write the shield's durability directly to a stack of arrows to directly measure it. But explaining that is difficult, so bomb measurement is probably still easier. Bomb and bomb + cause same damage to shield, but bomb+ recharges much faster. Each bomb should do 30 damage, so best shield is 1160 = 38 bombs 20 shields surfs.
thanks for the tip about using bombs to count, the way i was getting an estimate was by running out of the dungeon, dup the shield, and getting beamed at by 2 guardians on the castle, which was very tricky, then when it was the max number of beams to break it i duped again and just started hopping on it, your method will save me plenty of time and it seems easier too, thank you. ima get this 1160 now c:

You might be able to transfer that shield in from a side file. Don’t overwrite your main save if you want to try. Alternatively you could just use WMC to make a shield stronger than any naturally occurring one could be.

Yep. Once you have enough XP to get the upgraded Hylian Shield, place your travel medallion in front of the chest, free up at least one shield spot, and make a hard save.
Keep looting the chest and measuring the shield until you find a keeper. Place it on a mount at home. Generate enough offset slots to go negative, then autosave / close game / restart to nuke your inventory.
Pick up the shield from the wall, generate 6 arrowless slots, drop everything else, and load your target file to transfer just the shield there. Autosave / close game / restart to apply the shield to that file while keeping the chest unopened.
Repeat for the other modifier, then transfer the durability up one’s durability to the guard up one to make your Hylian Shield++. You can also leave the chest unopened so you can go back later for more OP shields.
or alternitavely if you don't have any unspendable korok seeds or unsellable armor, do the same first few steps (get xp, place medallion have at least one shield spot open, hard save, and loot until you find a good shield)
then go generate enough offsets to cover your key items (make sure you got rid of any spirit orbs or korok seeds) and one more
sell all armor, food and ingredients,
drop and pick up the hylian shield, making sure it is in the last slot
make sure there are no extra items in your inventory, and reload your hard save, make sure you have the shield and no duplicate stacks of arrows, and go trigger an autosave (if you are feeling ballsy you can manual save, but this is VERY ill advised as you can easily screw up your save)
now close your game and reload the autosave.
Either way you don't need to do any of that a second time for the second shield, you just need to loot the same way you did for the first shield until you find the second shield.
If you do have unsellable armor, and you are struggling with the arrowless offsets, they technically don't need to be arrowless, but you have to get 6 more multishot bows after you nuke your inventory...
Yeahhhh..... I think I'm fine just grabbing a Durability + and duping a bunch of them. I have no interest in doing memory transfer glitches.

You can also Just save and load.
That would earn you either guard up or durability up, but not both simultaneously.

You could play another game in parallel on the other mode or only in autosaves and farm one there, then transfer back to the primary. At that point though you may as well start a new profile and do it clean.

I’ve watched the video 5 times and still have a lot of questions.
1. At the beginning, do we have to do another no save run but also beat every single enemy 10 times?
2. If I do this do I have to erase my save?

I am so confused
This guide predates IST, and Ruth they you don’t need to do shy no save runs. Instead hard save before you loot the chest, then use autosaves until you find a keeper. Once you have that, follow the steps from the new IST BoL video except put this shield on the house mount instead of going to get the BoL (or in addition ui if you want both). Once you get to the arrowless setup steps make one extra slot, then transfer the shield into your main save. Repeat for the second modifier and combine them.

Unfortunately, if you don't remember exactly what you've killed, you'll have to just mark the stuff you're sure about and fill it in starting from now. You can save in front of the chest and then try opening it to check if you have enough XP, but before doing that I'd recommend at least having the last Lynel upgrade, since that comes well before the shield threshold is met.

You still need a couple thousand XP after that unfortunately. Remember that you only get xp for the first 10 kills for any enemy type so you need to switch after that. If you face the fine guardian farming that’s pretty quick xp in hyrule castle / field.

Will you still gain XP if you kill a Guardian Skywatcher (or any Guardian besides Scouts) if you use Ancient Arrows to defeat them? I'm wondering bc I hardly ever use Bomb Arrows or other arrows to kill them or parry their beams.
I believe for skywatchers, stalkers, decayed etc it does give you XP. If you see a lifebar when the enemy dies I think it counts.
I had a question: On Normal Mode, is it possible -- without doing the champion's ballad -- to get a maxed-out modifier for Hylian Sheild without killing 10 Sentries?
It should be. There are 10,900 XP available ignoring gold enemies, bosses, sentries, and DLC enemies.

Only way is to open the chest and reload an earlier save if it’s not the one you wanted.

38 bombs and 20 surfs should exactly break a perfect shield.

After this, I plan on getting the BoL, transfering it to MasterMode, then playing through the game again to get the max guard one again, combining the two, and then trying the IST Modifier Corruption to get the MAX guard and the BoL, then somehow getting the 10-shot BoL! The Hylian shield on its own has over ten times the durability of the next toughest shield, so it can survive roughly 25 guardian blasts, and its guard is nearly unmatched and so can effortlessly block the strongest of blows

Even if you somehow manage to break it, all you need is 3k rupees and you get another perfect shield to last another lifetime. With how long it takes to break the thing, it should be more like 30k

My prediction is many of the physics based glitches (such as windbomb) might work in some form since it’s impossible to test all cases, but glitches like memory storage and blss might get fixed. We will probably find other insane tricks with all the new abilities and gear though.
And now thanks to Hold Prompt Entanglement, we can make a shield with the full 1160 durability and without needing to drop bows

Do you have to the glitch to increase your shield’s durability? When doing the durability measurement does it randomizes the durability of the shield each time?
Great tutorial! However I can't do the durability transfer bit - I assume the transfer is done via the common menu overload glitch by dropping multi-shot bows equipped with shock arrows?
I'm familiar with this glitch and use it all the time. Problem is, I don't know how it's possible to de-sync one Hylian Shield from another. Since they both have the same 3D model, the shield still switches in-game even though they don't show up in the menu. So Link still ends up holding the lower durability shield anyways.
The desync should work but if it’s not for you you can transfer to an intermediate shield and then the target one. You can also do this with PE now for full durability transfer.

Damn that is very awesome must have take you days to make all of this i assume you used Flag Transfer to have 28 Hearts and 3 Stamina Wheels cuz i saw many Incompleted Shrines jaja and gain that Crazy Amount of XP i say it took you almost a Week if not mistaken still that is the perfect New Game+ i would say jaja funny thing is the master sword Fully Powered with Durability of 800 it has 3995 hits before it breaks amd if you have 1160 it have 5800 of Durability practically Indestructable cuz the Master Sword Full Power takes around 5 hits before losing 1points of durability tested it on PC with a Editor that's why it has more durability than other weapons in the game. Still y enyoy this video
Thanks! It took quite some time. I usually use a combination of doing a few shrines and then turning in my spirit orbs while in eventide storage to get my hearts. Flag transfer also works but I find it’s a bit slower that way.

No save run is much easier i swear and with durability transfer it makes it more easy cuz enemies regenerate way to fast so i guess we can say that durability transfer compensate for super regen of enemies jaja so i guess you go and destroy the Blights First since the 4 of them gives you 1200 in total and then go on a Murder Spree of Big Enemies to get those XP Really fast
Gotta be hard see how many points you obtain i guess you calculate them or something to keep track of the points really.
I explain my XP route in detail in my weapon farming tutorial, but you’ve basically highlighted the fastest XP. You can squeeze a bit more out of the Lynels by defeating them in increasing rank before they upgrade, but you still need more XP from other sources even if you maximize that XP.

This is during a memory storage run. (The no save/death part) So no. But look at his videos on the new glitch that was recently discovered called IST. You can do this on any save now as long as you haven't looted the Hylian Shield on the save you want to do it on. IST can also give you any modifier you want on any equip-able gear. It's still a new glitch and being tested and optimized for easier setup but it's some next level stuff. Like a 165+ Damage Master Sword, a 10 shot Bow of Light and a 202 Shield Guard Hylian Shield!

Well you don’t exactly load a save, you view the load screen to prevent a soft lock later (it’s called a load check). Then you return to title and start a “new” game, but because of memory storage all your flags get transferred. You can then warp to eventide without syncing your inventory to get all your items back and pickup where you left off. This allows for recovery from a death or in this case, looting the same chest multiple times.
You should check out IST though, it allows you to do this and more on an already progressed file with fewer restrictions.

Yes, you can. I cover all the steps in the video to avoid saving / reloading, but the flag transfer steps at 3:20 are the most important. The idea is you repeatedly loot the chest but return to title to avoid the game setting the flag that marks you having opened it. This allows you to get as many different shields as you need.

I left my travel medallion in the lockup and come back every once in a while. every time I open the chest, it’s the normal shield. My question is,could I have screwed something up so it will always be that shield. I saved before opening and reloaded every time. When I warp into the room the chest is already there. So… maybe I should of saved the game before starting the fight?
As long as the chest still has a shield in it you can get modifiers. My guess is you don’t have enough XP yet since you need a truly staggering amount. Just playing for a long time won’t get you there either; you need to actively seek out high powered enemies and switch after 10 of every type. For some perspective, even if you killed 10 of every tier of Lynel from red to gold, which would require numerous blood moons to even do, you would only have just over half the XP required for the level 1 shield modifier and less than half that required for max level.
Take a look at my weapon farming video for some help here; I included an interactive XP tracking spreadsheet that will be helpful for this specifically.

can you duplicate the shield++ ? or does it lose its durability??
You sure can, and it'll retain its special properties. It's a good idea to duplicate it and store a copy on your wall at home too just in case you ever mess up your original one somehow.
I just successfully got the bow of light on normal mode and then realized i missed out of this ++ shield when i wanted a basically perfect save file. If I get the hylian shield thats in hyrule castle currently, is there a way to then transfer all my items to a new save so i can get a second hylian shield and combine them? I feel so stupid too because i have the hylian shield from my bow of light run i wish i made it shield up +54. Also I have one question did you edit the Durability/Guard up + at the end or does it actually show that when you do the durability transfer glitch?
Unfortunately there's no way to acquire two Hylian Shields with different modifiers this go around, nor is there a way to transfer your items out of a regular playthrough or NG+ into another instance of NG+ once your game autosaves. If your current shield from memory storage was either +54 guard or 1160 durability, you could get the other one this playthrough and then combine them, but it sounds like that ship has sailed. You'd have to do memory storage again. I did the same thing before I found out about Inventory Corruption Chaining.
This time around you could try Inventory Corruption Chaining for a "true" perfect file with weapons and bows at 1160 durability, arrows at 116k each, a Hylian Shield++, and a Bow of Light all on one file.
As for your last question, the shield itself does not have special text, nor does it glow with black flames. I did that through editing; it will show the text for the guard up + shield. You also can't actually cook it, although with the new item hold smuggling stuff people found recently maybe you can?

Does flag transfer / eventtide still work? I'm not seeing the intro cut scene when I load my save file.
Flag transfer only works during memory storage. Did you set up a no-save file or are you just loading an arbitrary save?

@@matalim789 What exactly do you mean by "forced save" file? Is that an auto-save on your file somewhere? During memory storage you're not supposed to do any file loading, so you may have broken your setup already.

This may be a dumb question but do I get to keep the original save file with Flag Transfer?
I don’t think any saves are made until you get into NG+, so if you decide to bail and quit the game during memory storage you should find your original saves intact. If you do play through til the end though, a safe will be overwritten during the start of NG+.
@@ElDuende05 I suppose that since I already have the Bow of Light through a previous Memory Storage run I'll lose it after Flag Transfer.
So if I get the desired Hylian Shield I'll have to finish the game in the no-death run to acquire it again
Correct, if you want both. I usually make a new profile for a new run so I keep my previous best if I fail.

Does this still work if you already have the hylian shield?
If you’ve looted the chest in the castle, sadly no, unless you got one of the two best upgrades. If that’s the case, and you finish MS, you can get the other upgrade during NG+ and combine them there (although you’d have to re-earn the XP again).

I need to make an updated guide. You can now get 1160 durability, 330 displayed guard (210 actual), and surf stats almost as good as the radiant shield at the same time. I shall call the guide, Hylian Shield+++ Tutorial, and maybe I should do that for 5k subs lol.
how did you cook the shield
That was painstakingly hand crafted VFX. While you can actually cook things like key items, weapons are unfortunately not possible with current game knowledge.
How to cook 2 shield?
VFX. You can combine the two effects with durability transfer, the cooking thing was a dramatization.
I was confused at the very beginning
I find it kinda hilarious that you can now actually cook recipes including weird items like sheikah slate etc. I wonder if my dream of a Hylian shield soup can become a reality?
@@ElDuende05 hahah probably not. But there is actually a shit ton of recipes you probably never heard of, such as mighty milk, mighty monster stew, mighty hot buttered apple, electro monster curry. All high level dishes! I made these discoveries in the very beginning but nobody paid attention lol

You need to gain enough XP from defeating enemies. You get XP for the first ten kills generally, so you have to switch things up. It takes a lot of XP and I recommend using the tracking spreadsheet in my weapon farming video to help.

Is there another location where you can do the flag transfer other than even tide?
The trial of wood could theoretically give you inventory storage, but I’d worry that when the korok equips you with the korok gear it might prematurely sync your inventory and you’d lose what you had before the reset.

I don’t know about the trial of the sword. There’s a chance it might sync your inventory when you enter like it does for shrines since it will switch maps.

On my main master save, I Filled my entire inventory with shields then went to get the Hylian shield and tried to see if I can get a modifier but I was not high enough in enemy scaling so I left it in the chest but the game still realize that you’ve got it so in Tarrytown you can pretty much have a hylian shield to make up for you not having one so you can still have a really good shield but also get a modifier later on
you can also duplicate the shield so u don’t have to spend money on the shield
@@Ghost_2398 what? I’m saying that you can still have the best shield in the game and still be able to modify it late game. If your saying duplicate the tarry town shield yes do that
The full shield inventory -> buy from Granté trick is a good way to get a shield and maintain the ability to farm a better modified version later. You can also IST to transfer a copy and leave the chest unopened and avoid having to complete the whole Tarreytown story arc.

Should still work, they haven’t patched the game for a long time (since the VR update?) and have no plans to do so as far as anyone knows.

Getting one shield of both modifiers requires memory storage. You can get both during memory storage or you can get one during memory storage and the other later during ng+, but if you want to take advantage of the high durability shield for inventory corruption you’ll want to get at least the durability up+ one in memory storage.
You can set up the dual shields and then combine them in memory storage on master mode, then watch a memory cutscene to reenable saves. If you want to use the durability+ shield for master mode inventory corruption, however, that won’t work since your game will change to normal mode at the start of ng+.
The flag transfer isn't working
Flag transfer is still working in the latest version. Where do things diverge for you?

Unfortunately, flag transfer only works during memory storage. Also if you just want the ultimate shield and aren’t going for ng+, you can do the memory storage play through in master mode. Once you have both shields in your inventory you can watch a memory to re-enable auto saving and enter a shrine or something to trigger a save. This will overwrite your master mode save, so if you don’t want to lose either play through you can do this on a new profile if you prefer.
One more note: if you try to do memory storage in master mode and keep playing through until ng+, your game will sadly become a normal mode save and overwrite your normal mode progress.

Ah, that was a dramatization and clever editing. You can't actually cook shields in game. You combine them using standard menu overload and durability transfer once you get both.

@@Weso-ez5cu What I would do is duplicate both first onto separate mounts in the house (just to make sure you have a fallback if anything gets messed up). Then do the following:
Equip 1160 durability shield -> overload menu -> switch to 144 guard shield -> shield hop
This should transfer 1159 durability onto the 144 guard shield. You can then separately duplicate this hybrid shield and measure it once more if you want to verify it has 1159 durability.

does "flag transfer" transfers the hylian shield to your main save file? if so, will it still work if you have gotten the shield already in your main file?
This stuff has largely been replaced as of August 2022 with IST and WMC. I have some updated guides on my channel that can walk you through making yourself completely overpowered. Warning: this will remove all difficulty and challenge from the game, which may reduce your motivation to play it.
