Sure I can beat ganon with three hearts, no divine beasts killed, and pathetic armor. But personally after doing it once that's enough for me. I've proven to myself im skilled enough and now I just chill. Still impressed by the skills it takes to pull stuff like this off. I would have been mystified and lost watching instead of mystified and amazed.
The best part of watching the actual stream is that he started the intro like 4 times and had to restart half way through the video so most of this is him acting like he hasn't seen it before.
I think it would definitely be cool if some games had speedrun categories that allow splices as long as it's the same player to basically compare everybody's theoretical best so far
Imagine planning to kidnap Zelda, putting a curse over Hyrule, developing a Blood Moon and figuring out how to become a whole load of different Ganondorfs.... only to be defeated 20-minutes later. HOW EMBARRASSING.
Ok but the thing you learn by watching summoning salt is that By Saying "I don't think anyone can do this in one run" you've just guaranteed that someday someone will.
As someone fluently bilingual (French & English) I'm somewhat shocked to hear that the French dialogue ends up being faster. Translating from English to French will, almost always, result in it being longer and not shorter. As an example I did a quick test on 3 randomly copied texts of 600 to 750 words, and the French translation invariably ends up being 50+ words longer. But also, DAMNNNN 23 minutes...
@@Alizudo The comparison point to English still stands, because English is amongst the languages available, I think the real thing here is that if you notice, a lot of the dialogue and boss titles are just Less Verbose, BotW has some real verbosity when it does use text going on that I think French just didn't reflect as hard
Keep in mind it's an edited theoretical best time. It's possible the windblight arrow was an edited example of it, where they fired an arrow, and then cut to an actual successful arrow clip. It's *theoretically* possible to trigger it that quickly, but that doesn't mean they actually did so for the shown run.
Thank you for making a reaction video where you actually add your own content and make it original by having something informative and interesting to say about the video you are reacting to for the entirety of the video. Very refreshing, keep it up👍
I hope that one day Pointcrow reacts to the newer BotW speedrunning tricks and glitches used for the world record. Would love to see his reaction to the usage of pots and bombs that replaced all the frame perfect BokoBounces

"I'll be explaining these" Pointcrow half the time: WHAT????
Hey PCrow, I love your content, but this is an extra special vid for me. The speedrun analysis is super interesting to me, and it reminds me of your days streaming speedrun attempts with a small viewer base. I hope you find the inspiration to dive into the advanced strategies exhibited throughout this segmented run, and I especially hope to see you stream attempts in the future! Good analysis, you obviously know your shit! Love ya dude, keep on keepin' on
Skyward Sword Switch speedrun maybe?
@@kirara4953 Oh, I would love to see that, especially after he exhibited some knowledge of SS speedrun strats in his modded BotW SS temple video
Killing wind blight with one arrow would make revali so mad, and just killing dbg WITHIN HALF AN HOUR. Also link took Zelda seriously when she said “you must hurry link”😂 also in the original video Eric commented “this is poggers”
Revali: Good luck! That thing is one of Ganon's own, and it plays dirty!
It defeated me 100 years ago... but only because I was winging it. I can't believe I'm actually saying this, but you must--
wait what the f*k link
That is INSANE! To think I play this for fun and there’s these people KILLING IT at speed running
I just want to know Zelda's reaction to Link doing this absurd shit. Dude woke up from his magic, rejuvenation coma and just went to work.
Zelda: Didn't even have time for pants huh?
Link: Hyahh!
man just cannonballed himself into the fortress with a homemade glider, some pants and a basic shield and defeated evil itself then left
@@darky5335 lol yup.
I'd you want to see zelda reaction search "botw in a nutshell" and you should see a video titled "something about breath of the wild animated" and at the end of the video you'll see how they portrayed zeldas reaction
@@MixedContentMaster the first time I watched that I didn't really get it, but then I started watching pointcrow stuff and its hilarious how accurate the animation really is.
Meanwhile, I still haven't even tried going to fight Ganon.
Zelda: Just you wait, Ganon. Link will... wtf is he doing?! There's no time to fill your Hyrule Compendium with perfect pictures with just the right lighting!!! You'll never get the Restless Cricket, #%&^-$&%@!!! F***!!!
The flip to set up the bomb shrine windbomb was insane. If you've tried it yourself, that little peg is a pain in the ass to jump onto and it takes time to set yourself up perfectly. That guy just does a frontflip and lands on it perfectly. Insane.
The RNG BTB to Cryonis is probably the hardest maneuver though.
this video is so interesting and i really appreciate your commentary!! i love things being explained by people who love the thing, your excitement is super infectious! also you have a very nice smile 😊

@@ReelHirooftime Unfortunately they probably wouldn't be impresses because they don't know how difficult the tricks are.
@Jayy Menace I could speed run but I don't XD.
Im sure the tricks are incredibly difficult
However
I take no pleasure in pulling off exploits. It's not satisfying. Especially with BOTW. I always take my time to enjoy it. Sure I can beat ganon with three hearts, no divine beasts killed, and pathetic armor. But personally after doing it once that's enough for me. I've proven to myself im skilled enough and now I just chill. Still impressed by the skills it takes to pull stuff like this off. Tbh I may try to learn the bomb thing just to speed up like climbing mountains cuz thats a bit boring...seems pretty difficult though.
@@nathanreadinger3750 i'll just say its not hard to be god at breath of the wild once u learn it but that's why some speed run so we can challenge our selves, tho I don't do it myself the only glitch I use is nothing cos I'm nice to books :)

This wasnt just a reaction video, it was fantastic commentary! Thanks for explaining several of these tricks! Im not going to be playing the game anytime soon (dont have a switch and have forbidden myself from buying one until im out of grad school) , so the tricks wont be useful to me but dang it was really interesting to hear about!
but seriously, love the commentary.
Mario Kart has it lol
I can only imagine Zelda and Ganon’s faces when Link arrived 20 minutes after he woke up 😂

I love how hype he gets over the stuff he sees it’s genuinely enjoyable to watch
Ok but the thing you learn by watching summoning salt is that By Saying "I don't think anyone can do this in one run" you've just guaranteed that someday someone will.
I love how PointCrow is just freaking the hell out this whole time
But at the same time, actually explaining things as well
As someone fluently bilingual (French & English) I'm somewhat shocked to hear that the French dialogue ends up being faster. Translating from English to French will, almost always, result in it being longer and not shorter. As an example I did a quick test on 3 randomly copied texts of 600 to 750 words, and the French translation invariably ends up being 50+ words longer. But also, DAMNNNN 23 minutes...
What about from Japanese to French? The game was developed in Japanese first and the English is a translation.
@@Alizudo The comparison point to English still stands, because English is amongst the languages available, I think the real thing here is that if you notice, a lot of the dialogue and boss titles are just Less Verbose, BotW has some real verbosity when it does use text going on that I think French just didn't reflect as hard
But speaking is faster that's why
Watching this back is crazy how much it has changed even with speedruns like this being 4-5 years after the game came out
Most youtubers: keeps uploads to at the top of the hour, half hour, or 15 minutes.
Pointcrow: posts at 8 minutes past the hour
😐
I mean, if he wants to post at 8 minutes past the hour, I'm here for it
Keep in mind it's an edited theoretical best time. It's possible the windblight arrow was an edited example of it, where they fired an arrow, and then cut to an actual successful arrow clip. It's *theoretically* possible to trigger it that quickly, but that doesn't mean they actually did so for the shown run.
This is one of the first times I've seen a speedrun. This looks extremely challenging!
I've never bonked against my horse, no wonder I don't have the world record speedrun!
Flying from the temple of time directly to hyrule castle is so satisfying
