This video is insane!!!... I didn't know I can do this! Adding effects on 3D objects in Ae is awesome ...please we want more of these tutuorials! Thanks❤❤
Pretty impressive what after effects can do now. I just started learning blender a year ago because of after effects limitations I'm still glad that I did. Itd be great if you matched the ufo shadows with the persons shadows for realism. Anyways. Great video. I liked and subscribed and did all the TH-cam things 🤪
@@PremiereGal I love seeing new things in AE (calculation effect) but couldn't you have just used an adjustment layer and the UFO 3D layer as a track mask? Also do you know if it's possible to do screen replacement - i.e. if I import a iPhone model, change out the screen? It's relatively easy in Element 3D.
Dear Gal, using that effect „calculations“ is genius. I think I have never ever touche that.. cause its sounds soooo like Excel (which I do use, actually) 💪🏽🖖🏽🍀
I am trying to find a way to put 3d furniture in footage of empty rooms for real estate videos I am creating! Do you think with Element 3D I can achieve the same results and better, because trying with this I always have some weird placement when camera is moving.
@@krisvedit element 3d will work just as good or better but to be honest the method she is showing in the video should work for your needs, just has a lot of workarounds due to adobe's shortcomings so far...element 3d has more flexibility, but to be honest it will just come down to your learning curve and what your video footage looks like you're trying to integrate 3d objects into. I have a problem , please help me out. i will be grateful. if i make logo using 3d models like box, cone etc present in create section of element , then that model is able to be saved and imported into 3D element scene . but when i autotrace any image in after effects and then apply video copilot's E3d effect load image on texture map and auto traced mask in mask map and open E3d scene set up and extrude that model in preview and and load texture on that and save it in folder whose destination is Documents/VideoCopilot/Models , then i am not able to import it . the E3d scene shows it, but E3d preview does not show the model but it is showing the gizmo of that folder which contains model . please help me out.if i make logo using 3d models like box, cone etc present in create section of element , then that model is able to be saved and imported into 3D element scene . but when i autotrace any image in after effects and then apply video copilot's E3d effect load image on texture map and auto traced mask in mask map and open E3d scene set up and extrude that model in preview and and load texture on that and save it in folder whose destination is Documents/VideoCopilot/Models , then i am not able to import it . the E3d scene shows it, but E3d preview does not show the model but it is showing the gizmo of that folder which contains model . please help me out.
Thank you for this video. This feature seems great, but I dare not try it because all recent versions of AE are full of bugs. I just don't trust AE and always stick to some previous versions. Recently, I built a brand new computer and guess which program was responsible for its first astonishing crash?
I'm only 3 seconds into it but I got an amazing idea. So in theory we can generate a crowd from the crowd generator from real illusion and we can put that in our scene? Oh that would be A May Zing!
wowowow!!! What a tutorial!! Thanks Premiere Gal!!! When I add the solid for a shadow plane my shadow seems to be very pixelated, any ideas why that might be?!
@@PremiereGal I wasn't but thanks for calling that out, didn't know about that mode! its very useful. Turned out the solve was in the render options! thanks PremiereGal, long time subscriber!
Great Tutorial !! but AE still has many issues with importing obj and glb files. I have many 3d products with glass material and i can't do anything in AE :( i want to cry, literally
It reminds me of 1994, the release of 3D STUDIO 1.0 for DOS. So precarious…..30 years later just now Adobe is adding publicly 3D, even though the SGI version from back then was able to handle 3D……even Photoshop for SGI let you import 3D files, but of course these apps where only available at ILM, because of the Knolls brothers and Yost……
@@PremiereGal Yes for sure i got Advanced and 24.4 AF. I asked Adobe support and they told me that my processor doesn't support 3D, even though my hardware is pretty good. I don't understand.

Pretty awesome tutorial!! you are the GAL!!! I'm a fan!
I've used After Effects for 15 years but I've never used Calculations before, what a tip! Thank you for this workflow and 3D preview, Gal :)

Great video! Pretty cool to see AE integrate this into their UI.
Definitely!
You are the best ms. Gal, thanks and keep it on
Great tutorial. Thx PG
Please do more of these. Thanks! 😊

UFOs defy the laws of earths shadows 😅😂
nice, AE over the years has really improved
Great work! Thank you for teaching me new tricks :)
Great tut Gal! Thanks
Great Vídeo.
Its really good to see AE implementing it without any 3rd party plugin. (although I love element 3d)
It is nice to see!!!
Wow! the calculations effect!!! I had no idea.
🧮 who knew? ;)

There you go!
the videocopilot one is still much better.. adobe should have just bought it off of Andrew Kramer and put it in after effects...
Which one you mean?
@@krisveditElement 3D if I'm not mistaken
Yea Element 3d is better and more flexible by a longshot and that released over a decade ago

You are brilliant but I'd rather just do this in Maya if creating shadows is that complex. It's good to know that AE is evolving.
Very nice!

Absolutely! A great topic for thr next video. I know Ted Lasso's editing team did this for the Stadium crowd shots.
Amazing!
I lie your captions, how did you create them?
wow, i still have a long way to go
Thanks

Ok now, calculation effect is exploring in my mind 😂

only took them like 20 years to catch up to the basic 3d functionalities of nuke and fusion lol.
Well, better late than never! 🎉

Funny enough I've been rewatching X-Files start to finish and some of the effects there are pretty cool! End of Season 3 currently :)
Do you know how to modify the textures or materials of the models in AE, or does it need to be done before import?
What after effect version are you using?
this was a heavly loaded one.
Indeed it was!
How come I only have the ''default'' option under source even when the other layer i HDR??
QUESTION? How can I add the textures and glow within After Effects like you can with Element 3D or cant you? Anyone?
Cool:)
Keep it Up 👍| 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
can i add animations to the 3d files?
Hmm mine doesn't have "environtment" option in the light settinga
Nice 👍🙂🙂
When do we choose Advance 3D and when do we choose Cinema 4D? Does anyone know?
From what I see, the main difference is Cinema 4D does not allow you to use environment lights, so no HDR image options can be selected.
Thank you
Wow@@
i got a new ver of AF and when I download OBJ it doesn't work, shows nothing on composition...
Did you make sure to select the Advanced 3D renderer from the comp settings? What version?

OBJ, FBX etc are „rats“… luckily this other format (glb or so) works. Oh, of course not in Cinema4D…
