Getting this alot on ideals i work on..tech says change gas valve, change fan still no joy...interesting thing i found is if you open the black sump cover it stops the rumbling...its as if something is blocking exhaust gasses on low fire ...checked flue all clear but still happens..we fit glow worms now

Midlands we install baxi/main predominantly unless its customers preference.
The metal plate in the burner can be springy if the weld goes on the back left hand side (visible when you take the fan off), see if you can push it down as it shouldn’t move at all.. that can cause noise alot of the time.

Ideal sump cracks, little extra efforts to open them. Aluminium Heat exchanger blocks if not serviced.
Vaillant pure same. Pro and plus are better but expensive. Easy to repair. Pcb F28 and diverer valves leaks.
Worcester. Most reliable boiler and quality components until breaks. , most difficult to daignose repair. Poorest design.
Baxi. Feels cheap but easy to repair. Not expensive. Easiest ti install all once u know the tricks. All pipes are flexible to angles. Telescope and Uv protected flue. Main eco compact half price and no quality compromise. Only down side is rubber flue seal.
For me, Main (Baxi) in the south. If the customer is rich then Vaillant brand will keep him happy.
Respect to everyone's choice. If installed correctly, then all are fairly reliable.
