Stop the video at 3:28, and you will see the portion of the frame that sits right under the Console Lid. You can use a simple, dull table knife. Simply open your Console Lid and weasel the blunt tip under the ~3/8” frame and work it upwards with a twisting/rocking movement of the knife. It will begin to separate from the lower housing and then you can simply grab the loosened frame and pull it up and out. I was actually able to do it with my fingernail, but that was tougher to do. Works on my model of CX-5. Good luck!
Another video recommended just reaching into the open area where the cupholder was and lifting from the inside(open the center console first!) It's held in by a few pressure clips and will press right back into place, as shown in the video. Just pulled mine out today! Will be soldering it later, using some extra 3D printer filament to reinforce the seams

This was my question too!! The same exact thing happened to my cup holders in the same model and year vehicle.
