Jeeyoon, I found you at Anna's channel and by your comment, I knew you were an accomplished pianist, so I decided to listen. I LOVE this performance! First of all, I prefer raw, emotional performances over perfect robotic ones. For myself, I learned to be gentler on myself after an accident took out my ability to move as quickly and smoothly, so I simply reinvented myself. I always thought that passion reigns over anything and this is living proof. To your comment about the facial expressions, this is you living the joy, pain, and sorrow.....and conveying what you feel from your soul. Absolutely beautiful and yes, I enjoyed the RAWNESS immensely! BRAVO and of course a new subscriber for you :-) All the best to you as you grow and mature as an artist!! ~Jackie

Thank you! How thoughtful and insightful comment! I forgive myself about misnotes most of times as I know music and passion lived within me in any of my live performance. But I was always a bit reluctant to share with the world via video forms afterwards as I know there are always people who criticize performance with only judgement measurement of perfect notes and tempo, etc. Sometimes it is hard to accept for anyone from those other people’s bullets with some intention of hatred. 😜 I am learning to toughen up if I am gonna continue doing this TH-cam.. (never easy) Thank you for your comments! Looking forward to sharing it more with you. 😘

@@jeeyoonkimpianist Hello again Jeeyoon. You are very welcome!! Yes, the passion is more important I think. There are plenty of people in TH-cam land that would/could even pick away at a "perfect" performance and the way I see it, we would like to see THEIR performance then....haha :-) Yes, we do need a thick skin out here to handle people that are not so nice. Back in my own days of recitals, which was a very long time ago, I remember that I just had to be perfect. After the accident, I at first felt sorry for myself and did not play for 25 years. Later on, everyone knew music was really missing from my life and my husband bought me a piano. I can't do what I used to do and I accept that now, so the way I compose/play is all adapted to what I CAN do and I no longer beat myself up over a missed note or two. Be well and keep going. Glad we connected! ~Jackie

Way back in the day, I studied classical piano, and found myself in a competition where we all played various Beethoven sonata first movements. During that period, I had ample opportunity to hear the famous slow movement, and to listen to people in nearby practice rooms working on the last movement. I agree with the majority here in applauding the rawness of the emotion in this very moving interpretation. It was interesting to watch your expressions during each movement: Painstakingly channeling your energies in the 1st, happy and playful throughout the 2nd, and appropriately, ferocious and agitated in the 3rd. We could see it all, and hear it all, as you played. As a guy who ultimately chose Billy Joel, Billy Ocean, and Billy Preston over the other three B's, I'm all admiration for the level of virtuosity and expression you bring to this repertoire. :)

How wonderful! It is very cool that you studied classical piano, which explains your passion for music. You can never get tired of listening Beethoven sonatas... it sounds like you had a great experience in those competitions!
Thank you for your comments and support! Happy making music for yourself!

Bravo! 👏👏👏 If I was at this concert, I’d be the first one to jump on my feet and clap my hands profusely! I love it so much. Everything about how you played it. So impressive in the third movement. I’m drooling from watching your fingers flying on the keyboard! And the left hand running! Oh my! Love it! Thank you for sharing! 🌹🌹🌹

This piece has been my favorite piece of piano for i don't know how many years. I've been looking for a good live performance of this. And you just win it, and by far. You took my breath away and made me tear up a little bit. The raw feeling, the absolute roller coaster of emotions that we can feel is absolutely majestic. Thank you, for making my favorite song feel a bit closer to my heart.

I have an Xbox 360 game: Eternal Sonata and this performance brings back those memories of playing it. The story revolves around Chopin on his deathbed as he drifts between this life and the next. On the border between dreams and reality. Chopin captures every emotion in his compositions.... BRAVO! BRAVO! I loved your performance! Well done madame!!!

Amazing! This is my favorite piano, perhaps my favorite all time classic music, and you make it come to life in such a wonderful way. It’s like you channel Beethoven’s feelings and distress while you were preforming. The recordings I have of this of one is always so dull and uninspired.

Thank you for this performance. I liked most the second movement and how you were almost literally dancing at the piano.
I think it's more important that the message of the composer is conveyed than just playing perfect notes.
Music is a process and if you didn't share this performance we would be poorer of one great concert performance.

So wonderful to hear that, Stefan. 2nd movement is often neglected but I feel it is really needed break between 1st and 3rd movement musically, providing that dance bridge between those 2. Thank you for your comment! I appreciate it!

Haha. You mean some misnotes in the 3rd movement? I know. We are just human. Definitely it is not the note perfect performance, but I still wanted to share it for the sake of rawness of the live performance. Hope you can still see the beauty of this piece, bypassing some imperfect humaness of the performance.
