Welcome! What activity you want to try to create it as a new habit? Please share it with me!
First, get up early! I''m up at 5:30 every day, to start the coffee and smoothie machine. Then, surfing is the first priority (due to the weather/wind), but I have to walk my wonderful dogs 3 miles before that, so before 8:00 am, I'm already warmed up and ready for the waves. While I surf, I often play the songs I'm assigned to learn on piano in my head, so there's this compelling desire to get home by noon, to practice. That's a satisfying day. I added piano to the list 5 years ago, when my afternoons no longer were occupied by gardening. (As a rule, I like to plant things that take care of themselves after a while....) I love to list "daily" tasks, but piano/dog walking/surfing are NEVER on the list, because they are part of life/do not need a reminder.
Great advice! Will start it tomorrow :)
good performance
Excellent advice! Many thanks! ❣️
I will take the challenge
Tomorrow at 10 a.m. I'm playing piano .
Usually I only study in the aftenoon, but I think it is useful to break my routine into two daily sessions and extend the practice.
You used the right words to trigger my motivation
Thanks Jeeyoon!
Greatings from Italia 🇮🇹
Thank you! That’s exactly what I needed to hear. Will immediately making the lists. Unfortunately as a beginner, practicing my repertoire takes too much time so I miss new pieces. But letting go one still makes me very unhappy as I cannot read music very well and have to start all over which takes even more time. Don’t say I have to let go 😢. Anyway very helpful video.😮
Thank you, Jeeyoon, for your excellent video that everyone can benefit from. The 66 day calendar is new for me - I’m interested to use it to continue a piece from last summer. Annyeong!
I knew about the 21 day calendar but not the 66 day calendar. (Interestingly most piano players on Instagram aim for 100 days of practice).
Thanks for your tips! although I am retired and with that on amateur status, I will develop two habits: relaxing conscientiously during my playing, and staying focused on what I am playing. I found the way how to do it, but now I have to get to do that automatically.
Thank you for giving the idea how to form a practice habit. I will try the 3 weeks first. 66 seems to be a big task! I wish my mother is still nearby to scream at me “Go! Go! Go! Practice” like she used to do when I was little.
