    I used to have extreme faith in him. Before the song even came out I was on the hype train. It’s unfortunate but he’s caused a lot of his own downfall. His work ethic to get better simply isn’t there and despite his age he’s still super raw. The magic did him 0 favors drafting him behind their already all star level center.

      I'm a magic fan so I naturally cheered for Mohamed to become the guy and I still do wish him all the best. The thing that baffles me the most about him is the fact that on one side he is such a low motor player, who seems to don't have any interest to work hard to improve his is game or/and will to learn, yet he's such a great teammate off court. In Orlando everyone loved him. He was always mo than happy to do community stuff and all... He ain't a bad guy at all in fact he's Total opposite...fucking bipolar like... Like me

Mo bamba actually went off against us so it just proves that he has the talent and isn't given enough opportunity especially with joel playing heavy minutes. • @SchulzEricT
      @SchulzEricT 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@classicslayer456 I mean, it could be a situation where ORL didn't develop players because they didn't look at character and work ethic enough... Simmons has this "one bone-head per team" rule, where you can get away with having one guy who isn't a good chemistry guy, but only one. If the rest of the team is pulling in the same direction, then they can help keep him in check (Rasheed Wallace on the '04 Pistons, Rodman on the '95-'98 Bulls, Draymond Green on the Steph Warriors, etc).
      Similar thing with work ethic? If you have a team with guys who are smart and work hard, then maybe you can get a guy like Bamba in that environment and develop him, but if every prospect on your team is a project and has to be developed, if there's no infrastructure, then you don't have any guys' who can highlight each others' strengths and hide weaknesses. (Miami seems great at that, right?)

      it's more about drafting wrong players.
      Payton was drafeted to go along Oladipo ( couldn't shoot) and Gordon ( couldn't shoot).
      Hezonja was just wrong selection.
      Isaac- broken & injury prone his whole career
      Bamba- zero drive to become better ( and dumb player, from BBIQ perspective in general)
      Okeke- drafted injuried.
      Cole (value where he was taken), Franz, Paolo were great selections. Suggs is slowly turning into good player but he probably will never become star as some expected.

    As a Magic fan who wanted Mo to shine, even as a roleplayer, his downfall has been a long time coming. I never wanted to admit it though. I think you’ve really hit the nail on the head here. His offense was awful beyond his ability to shoot, has terrible hands, can’t rebound relative to his size and wingspan, inflated block numbers from biting on everything, his defense is almost nonexistent, his IQ is awful. But I don’t think it’s fair to put blame on Orlando for not throwing an absurdly raw player directly into the starting lineup. Progress is not linear and this isn’t 2K where you can just put a guy in the lineup and see his overall go up. Dude just doesn’t have the skill to be a quality NBA player and I think starting a guy with an already poor work ethic who hasn’t earned it might have even just made it worse because he knows he can do whatever and still keep his spot in the lineup.

    Bamba seems to be one of the biggest examples of this "mixtape culture" where people see his best plays and they pop out but he never actually learned how to play the game the right way. Similar to Wiseman imo. 7 foot with a crazy wingspan hitting 3s and blocking shots into the stands and catching lobs look cool on video, but what he is doing the other 80% of possessions seem to get put the the side. Also, to go along with that, he clearly just doesn't love the game or have any interest in improving and it's so sadly obvious. what a waste of potential.

  • @danflan05
    @danflan05 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    The reasons he's bad are he wasn't able to switch well. He played very upright so on switches he was unable to get low, move lateral and stay in front of quicker players. So he isn't switchable as badly as he was marketed as that. Then on offense he can't do anything except shoot 3s and dunk uncontested rim runs. If he dribbles once it's a turnover, absolutely no post game. Couple that with terrible defensive awareness and post defense and he became unplayable because his defense, what he was drafted for, is actually quite terrible.

    Bamba on defense only blocks shots but makes incredible amount of mistakes, due awful decisions, poor reads or simply reacting instad of predicting things.
    On offense. Oh boy... he can't set proper screen to save his life, he never rolls after pick&roll, only thing he does is pick&pop. Passing skills- virtually non existing.
    He pretty much never improved in areas that were his weaknesses. In reality he is bad defender despite some of best tools possible ( 8 foot wingspan) and is pretty bad offensive player and has no funcional usage of fact he is 7 footer. It feels like on offense, his lenght works against him, as he plays like 6'4 dude ( just shoots open jumpers and nothing else).

    If you watch him closely he gets disheartened when he gets bullied by a white center but if there's a black he goes all out coming down the line

      This makes no sense. He still sucks overall against black centers. Weird race-bait take.
