Man, that thing cleaned up real nice. I used to have a 96 Ford Ranger XLT with the 4.0L V6. Absolutely loved it. I ended up selling it to my inlaws when we adopted my youngest daughter. They still have it and is one of their main vehicles.. Those are really nice trucks. Love that flatbed.

Thanks! Doing the flatbed was such a big help on this one. It used to have the tiny step-side truck bed on it. The wood bed is just about square at 6'x6' and was very handy!

Sam I have been following you and your family journey. When you changed the alternator on the ranger you sold. The one had a car quest auto part sticker on it . They just rebuild them with orginal case and change the internal parts only.Keep up the good work

Very well done Sam. A good amount of TLC goes a long way. Favorite part of the truck is the Mazda steering wheel. Ppl. don't realize how many of those parts were interchangeable. Hoping all is well, Dirty Jersey out!!

Many times when an alternator goes bad it takes the battery out. I had an alternator go bad a year ago Feb. it took the battery. The new one failed this past May, it took the battery with it. Alt in warranty so was battery, for that I am thankful.
We had a similar problem to that and we found out that it was the clock it wasn't turning off when the car turned off. We discovered it when we changed out the radio and it never happened again.....

Try looking for top grade yacht varnish...best varnish for wood that stands outside and to combat uv damage!..

Just a hint from an old guy. Pour with the spout on the high side of the container & the fluid won't GLUG GLUG as you pour.

I would put a set of mud grips on the back and keep it.
Hmmm would make a great first truck for a 16 year old.
Put the widest mud and snow tires on the back that will fit those rims , you'll be surprised , maybe way cheaper than a four wheel drive !?
You could of bought a $8 voltage regulator (where the wires plug in the alternator)
