DR2.0 miles better than EAWRC? I just don't understand that take, like not even a little. Having tested both side by side the last 2 weeks (after 100's of hours in Dr2 and WRC9 previously) DR2.0 definetely feels like the predecessor. Where EAWRC feels like DR2.5 with WRC merged on and improved in most ways.
DR2.0 was way too 4 wheel steering slidey, specially on tarmac. EAWRC is quite an improvement over DR2.0 in that regard. And feeling you like actually are running some good tyres that stick on tarmac.
What got EAWRC most hate, and rightfully so, was the utterly crap performance. Today it runs quite a lot better than at launch.
Both are great titles and worth playing.
RBR is for a select few purists.

Of course, and I do agree with you when you say that the performance on EA's WRC is much better then it was previously. I just really prefer Dirt Rally 2.0 much more then its current successor.
I just personally think that graphic wise, EAWRC is a step down compared to EAWRC. To me had Codies stuck with the Ego engine instead of switching to the unreal engine, I think it would have bean a much better product.
I'm in no way saying that EAWRC is a bad game. I just don't think it deserves the 50 euro price tag (Correct me if the price has dropped) compared to Dirt Rally 2.0 where it only costs 40 euro for the GOTY edition.
I respect your opinion but for me. I just don't find myself enjoying EAWRC as much as DR 2.0

I loved Dirt Rally 1 but hated DR 2.0 Why? The amazing choice to force TAA which just blurs the HELL out of everything and the ludicrously short draw distance of the trackside shadows left me feeling my eyes needed testing or flat our completely destroyed the immersion we're all chasing for in racing games.
Codemashers also have a habit of releasing a game full of bugs and MAYBE fixing them but more often than not just abandoning the titles right after the final DLC launches, in favour of creating their next £60-90 garbage as fast as possible.
It's now gotten to the point that they repeat the same damned bugs title after title even if they were fixed in a preceding game, it's like no one there takes notes on what they did to fix the problems in a title and feed that fix forwards, instead just reverting to the borked game engine and repeating the same process or just not bothering depending on feedback and player numbers.
Hell I warned them years ago if they kept abandoning titles in this fashion and refusing to fix serious problems with many of them then they should be ashamed, didn't deserve to survive as a company and would end up selling themselves off to the highest bidder... I got banned from their forums and Steam discussions for my troubles.
So imagine my surprise when I got a PM on my steam profile from the a*****e that banned me asking to check out the public lobbies in GRID 2019 and let them know what I thought... Bit hard to do that when you banned me for pointing out the BS and lies and complete about face regarding bugfix promises that never came...
Then they spammed EVERYBODY to vote for GREED in the best game innovation category for the Nemesis feature despite it being a feature of their preceding title from 4 years previously.
They lost out to Nintendo Labo...
Trust me I should know this as I was a beta tester for that preceding title (Grid Aurosport). It was a silent behind the scenes feature intended to promote clean racing, if you respected the AI they'd respect you, if you drove like a twat then you were fair game..
In THAT game if you clobbered the AI too often in race 1 of a 5 race series, that AI would remember you until that series was completed and would be an utter pain in the ass till the final race.
Not so in Greed, they forget you as soon as the race ends...
So you can imagine my reaction to their subsequent sale to EA less than a year after they banned me for attempting to warn them of the perils of their treatment of their paying customers...
AHHHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaa! Deep breath! "I F*****G warned you!!!"
See for yourself on my steam reviews, Grid Autosport review...
    steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198017101674/recommended/255220/

    steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198017101674/recommended/703860/
Am I bitter? Yeah maybe, what am I doing now? Beta testing a game from a dev that actually gives a S**T about their product, so much so they involve gamers across the globe in testing their products well in advance of it being released to the public, that game being AMS2.
This "testing policy discrepancy" might be the reason that AMS2 sits with an approval rating of 92% whilst Codemashers more recent titles just get worse and worse player reviews with each iteration (GRID was at 45% GRID legends was as low as 40% and PCars 3 was 35% for months after each title launched), and their player numbers just fall off a cliff...
    Hell even F1 is following suit, F1 23? 84% peak player count 14,000+, F1 24 60%peak player count 8,210...
Dirt rally peak players? 20,343 DR 2.0 peak players? 3,533...
    Nuff said....

Wow, quite a lot you got off your chest there buddy.
In all seriousness, I'm sorry to hear that you weren't treated well by Codemasters only for them to end up banning you. No company (AAA and indie) should be immune to constructive feedback. What they did was very scummy indeed.
Please don't take the video as me fanboying over Codemasters or anything. I was really just let down by Codemasters and EA when they released EA'S WRC.
Glad to hear there was a happy ending to your story at least with getting to beta test for Reiza. I did a review on AMS2 which I came out and praised that game to.

@@sbsimulators6913 Nah everybody has their own experiences and opinions. The world would be boring if we didn't.
Though it's always well worth doing some serious digging into history, especially when it comes to showing such falls from grace.
CM went from beating Fifa, PES & Madden NFL for the best sports game BAFTA (not racing game but sports game) in 2008 for race driver grid to begging for votes in a non important category in just 10 years and losing.
What really irks me is the general acceptance that this is the new normal and it's unlikely to change unless people vote with their wallets, Codies learned this far too late and their sellout was timed to perfection.
The shareholders weee mislead for years about the state of play and EA got robbed (makes a change from them robbing customers).
Net result was they fired Ian Bell for the atrocious PCars 3 (2nd time EA have fired him), closely followed out the door by Codies CEO & CFO, and the closure of Slightly Mad Studios when Ian Bell raided their pool of developers to work on his new project calked GTR Revival.
