Frieren's jumping into mimics looks like poor decision at first but think about that: 1% chance to find something awesome vs spending some time with bad hairstyle at most (there is no actual risk for her) - it's a no-brainer.
26:39 The fact that it makes Fern happy to see Frieren happy shows that Fern loves Frieren very much. That scene made me tear up too. This relationship is so special… this mother-daughter relationship is very precious. It’s not one-sided either; Frieren too was happy to see Fern enjoying things, like when she saw the sunrise over that bay. It’ll be so sad the day Fern passes on and Frieren will be alone again. 😢
They did an awesome job of establishing all these characters not only by themselves but through the relationships they have with each other, regardless of whether they knew each other from before the test or they just met. Most shows struggle to introduce a couple of interesting characters, and here he have like a dozen cool characters with unique personalities that play off each other.
A great thing with this episode is how you, and other reactors, were like ' i want to see this / what about x' and then that's the next scene. It shows an excellence of expectation building with the storytelling.
Your frieren reactions are on another level... May you keep reacting to great shows like frieren for a long time.
Never really thought about it, but from how he reacted to being blown a kiss and a kid flipping her skirt, Himmel would have had a heart attack if he was the one pushing Frieren's rear to choke the mimic. If I were the author being forced to write a flashback about it, I'd say Eisen is too reserved. Probably Heiter that helped after having a good laugh, since those two seemed to have a more buddy-buddy relationship with the head pats, teasing and all.
i think this episode has SO many topics to talk about.. all the mages and their abilities, Himmel showing his inner gamer, the clones, unexplored dungeons, the monsters that live in these dungeons. love it 🥰

Lindsay channeling her inner Fern, sussing everyone out😆... I think the fellas of the heroes party just stood there annoyed or puzzled by Frieren falling for the mimic.
Fern is destined to be a mother, her already finding fulfilment by those she cares about being happy.

Lmao I love how there's a flashback with Himmel and Lindsay's first comment is "Don't make me cry" lol. Honestly though you're selling Ubel short because she's great. And Land with her are actually pretty cute together.
Sense experiencing what Fern has to go through all the time with Frieren was classic.
I wish there was more Methode before the ending of this arc because she's a really interesting character. She kinda just tagged along with the Denken group out of the blue and didn't say much.
The second biggest laugh I had during this series is the look on Sense's face when Frieren gets stuck in that first mimic. You can just hear the little *tink* in her psyche when she realizes that Frieren the Slayer, the legendary mage who helped beat the demon king...

Something really funny about this dungeon is that Frieren was able to notice and avoid every trap BUT the mimics.
Sein seeing Methode... That would be a good scene. Im sure he will love another mage in the team if is her. XD

Himmel was a completionist, it's no wonder he could beat the DK after collecting all the pinecones.
Eisen is the power gamer. It's normal for a warrior. He was the one most focused on the main quest too. He also burnt out.
Heiter was the causal gamer who is pretty naturally tallented but also has a tendency to game drunk. He even passed out while fighting a raid bosss!
Old Frieren was gatcha player.
Current day Frieren is the person who plays the game mostly to be with their friends.
In a way, Frieren is the sun rise for Fern now, all about the time with the one that you care

Methode is low-key busted. Very versatile and badass mage.
As for Richter watching Lawine and Kanne, it's hard to say, but I think he was thinking they're going to have a difficult time in the dungeon. The only reason they ended up beating him is because a) he went very easy on them until Denken lost, and b) Kanne + rain. If either weren't true, they'd have no chance against him. And he'd never enter such a dungeon alone. So I don't know that he was worried, but at the very least thinking they will have low odds of success. He is definitely not mad about losing though. Too logical for that. Would be out of character, IMO.
Getting close to wrapping up season 1...any chance of apothecary diaries next?

This scene remind me of first time to step on Bio Laboratory Dungeons 3rd F in Ragnarok Online was 15 years ago.
The Dungeon has a Clones Monster with Heroes and Heroin of the game stories, like My party fight 20-30 Himmel at the same time.
My Whole team dies in 5sec😂 With 1 low tier Sniper Cecil Clone. lol

I think Methode is probably the third strongest of the test takers, Frieren - Denkin - Methode.
Methode came out of nowhere and dominated. Sometimes you think they will be background characters since they didnt get a lot of exposure during exam 1, but she is amazing in just 1 episode. Thanks for reacting

For understanding, Sense is the german word for Scythe and at the same time the english word for Sinn(= german for sense) But yes you exactly write it down how to pronounce it in german because both S in sense are more sharply like sz but to less for a ß

Real Frieren got so scared that her hair turned into drill curls. To defeat Fern’s clone, they had to take her to all the sweets shops around the town until she passed out from happiness. ^_^
