Hope you enjoyed the reaction! Honestly my love for all these new characters just keeps growing and growing and especially Richter, idk why I just love him. Methode is up there though I’m a big fan so far 🫣

I can't remember the last time a show introduced so many side characters in a short amount of time and got me to actually like them.

Frieren's(the anime) side characters get more development than many shows lead romantic interests.

So a thing I think about every time I watch this episode but I've never seen a reactor catch is when Ubel is fighting her clone and she says "you must really want to die." Paired with an earlier time when she's disappointed because she thought she had found a fight to the death and then didn't, that says to me Ubel has a death wish - when she's addressing her clone, she's talking to herself. Something terrible happened to make her the way she is - that's my guess, at least.

I'm glad you like Richter. I've seen people dislike him after the first test but I find him charming in a weird way. Maybe I just empathise with burnt out service workers.
Methode is also finally getting some spotlight. Top class lady, Sein missed out big time.

The whole burnt out service worker thing is totally a huge reason I enjoy Richter so much 😂 as soon as I saw him working his little shop I just instantly liked him so much more, it’s too bad people don’t give him the chance because I am loving him so much more every episode

Am I the only one who thinks about, how much Sein would've loved meeting a woman Methode?😃 Fern is so funny for the way she took back Frieren, after the hug.

Frieren finding that secret door is funny because that was a passive ability Elves had in old D&D
Oh and hypnosis and paralysis have been things elves resist in D&D i think even to modern editions
Also its funny that its strongly implied that Himmel and co defeated so many dungeons that modern mages dont know how to clear them lol

I think someone involved must have played old school dnd. There's an awful lot there that is either a gamer or osr influence.

It's crazy in a series with so many amazing, strong female characters, we get someone so late into the season in Methode who is just a pure badass. Also, I'm glad you enjoyed Wirbel's battle, I think a lot of people don't appreciate it enough. Thanks for reacting as always!

We don't see Ritcher use a staff. Like Flamme, Serie, Land, and Sense. He (probably) has a different focus object or method, such as using his tired working man energy. Not everyone can afford expensive casting aids that he sells after all.

Thanks for entertaining my night off to watch this series again, for probably the 4th or 5th time now. I thought you had the entire series finished when I decided to go through this Frieren playlist of yours but I guess you're not completely done yet. I was going to refrain from commenting until the final episode so that I could give you my full opinion. I've been mildly obsessed with this anime since discovering it almost by accident a couple weeks ago. Grateful the season was completed when I did, too as I'd have a hard time waiting a week for something that is ridiculously binge-worthy.
When I re-watched it in dub, I was surprised that the voice acting was pretty decent. Also surprised how many words were changed to something "adjacent" than their translation as well. Best example I can recall is from episode 15 when Stark wakes up from the sleeping curse before Fern and he sees his situation and says "This is new." instead of "What's going on?" They both give basically the same result but one is clearly more contextual.
Perspective is very important in this show, not just regarding the cinematography but from the characters. What I've noticed from a lot of other reactions to the various pivotal moments within the series is a common misinterpretation of Frieren's reciprocation of Himmel's love for her. Nobody denies he was in love with her, but not many seem to fully grasp her perception. We all know she's over 1000 years old, but we don't yet know how much older than 1000. The farthest back we've seen at this point is when she meets Flamme. Her height is contrasted to that of a human in the images we see so we assume she's a child but most of the series she's compared to Fern and Stark, Sein briefly. We really have no idea how old she was at this time or what her story was before. Was that even the village she was born in? She mentioned she wanted to kill all demons because they took everything from her, but it's a very blanket statement with no personalization to it. She says in episode 4 that "after a thousand years she's still her master's puppet" or something to that effect, implying it's been at least 1000 years since Flamme died. She could only have trained with Flamme for likely less than 100 years as we have no reason to believe Flamme isn't human. She is told to live in obscurity and not make herself known to the world until after the defeat of the Demon King, which is basically the world seeing her as her infamy is borne of this moment whether she wants it or not. When she is first approached by Himmel & Co., she says she hasn't fought demons in roughly 500 years so she forgot how. We can only assume she's telling truth the so she's been basically remaining relatively isolated since the death of Flamme, only encountering the random beings that stumble upon her or rare interactions with other humanoids (perhaps to buy something in a town that couldn't be gotten while being "off the grid" as she didn't seem to be in some very remote location, more just on the fringes). I'm probably missing some other clues we've been given but these and the extent of this comment are already more than enough. The Party of Heroes is really the first time since before Basalt the Throne destroyed destroyed her village and she mentored under Flamme that she was consistently in the company of other people for more than a day. Adding to the seemingly natural indifference that elves may have had regarding time, the last bit of vital info we get is in episode 7 where she says "We lack romantic interests and reproductive instincts" as well as not having seen another elf in 400 years. Most people seem to focus only on the "reproductive insticts" part, not "romantic interests". Words are very important and even more-so in Eastern cultures. Translations are getting better throughout time but there are still words that don't have an equal in other languages, so they just take the dominant language's interpretation literally. Like "accessory shop". In episode 3 Fern literally says "accessory shop" to describe what is being talked about. Words like "Romance", "Romantic", "Romanticizing" all have various meanings, but they're all adjacent to each other. It's like fantastic exaggeration.
So we know Frieren isn't emotionless, just numb to them in such a ridiculous way that we can barely comprehend, due to all these factors. It's why when we see her recall memories where Himmel was clearly displaying his love for her, any sort of nostalgic reciprocation we now see is much more profound than we recognize. We say, "Aww, she loved him" and we're not wrong, we're witnessing an unfathomably powerful feeling slowly breaking through the thickest of skin. The word "Love" is barely mentioned in the show at all because it's not something that should be tossed about as freely as we Westerners do. I'm not saying this to be pessimistic, it's just a powerful word that loses it's power when it's overused, much like it's antonym. We see so much love in the show, but it's never really proclaimed aloud. On that same note, in episode 16, after she's recalling the memory of Himmel when talking to Voll, she says, "I probably didn't need that collection of handsome poses after all." This is the first time a couple things happen in the series. First, she acknowledges them as handsome poses. Second, she's smiling while saying it. Perhaps I'm looking into that too much, and I can honestly say this show itself is to blame for forcing us all to look at all the little things. But I still think it's a pivotal moment that is overlooked.
I know this whole comment was a lot but this show is something special that will be a truly timeless classic. I think it's the first time in my life that I can confidently proclaim that and know it to be true.

There is no official height for the characters, but Frieren is described as being average height. The average height of girls in Japan is approximately 5'3" so some people speculate she's around there. If you use that as a reference, then Fern should be around 5'5" and Stark would be somewhere around 5'7"

Don't worry too much about the pronunciation of names and places in the series - most reactors kinda "butcher" the names. xD As you know the character names (and the names of "most" places and "some" spells) in Frieren originate from German words, thus the "proper" pronunciation could be learnt from looking up the German words, BUT even in the show most names have an (Japanese) accent, making it more complicated, especially since you probably would add your own accent as well.
Sometimes words get pretty much "butchered" in the original as well, e.g. Lügner's spell "Bluterei" (which is kinda a "constructed" word in the first place and wouldn't be used like this in most circumstances in German 😅).
A thing I noticed is that a lot of English-speaking reactors rather try to interpret the pronunciation from what they read in the subtitles, rather than mimicking/replicating what they actually "hear" - must be a psychological thing to fall for that trap... 😆
Since you kinda seem a little bit bothered by the matter, here's something for practicing: Sense (the German word for "scythe") would rather be pronounced somewhat like this: Zen - the (two syllables with a barely notable pause between them and the E at the end NOT muted) 😈😇
    Greetings from Germany
    Wolf =^.^=

About the height i think people making logicial guess Frieren is about 155-ish cm

The names are all German, and Methode is basically the German word for method. If you want the proper pronunciations, hit the names into a German dictionary with a "read out aloud" function.
