This is the single best video on the internet for understanding the switch blade mechanism. Excellent craftsmanship. Well done! Thanks very much for putting this up and I appreciate the effort it took to film every step and document this for the world to see.
I have always wondered about the working principle of these fully automatic pocket knives. But they could not fully explain it in any of the videos. I congratulate you very very much and also thank you very very much. You explained it so well by putting a lot of effort into it. I wish you continued success.
This is really impressive.. Among all the other otf videos I've watched, yours is really simple yet understandable (even without words). That was a really great guide and video. I wish you the best in your endeavours.
the small metal pieces allow the sprint to build up tension and then when the slider mechanism hits the metal tab and pushes it down the spring pulls the blade back into the knife handle or shoots it out of the handle. The little pin stops it from fully flying out and constrains the blade. Look up OTF Fidget Knife for an interesting 3D printed version
When moving the slider forward, the back stop engages on the back of the blade, the slider goes forward, the spring stretches, the slider reaches the back stop, the stop opens, the blade shoots forward, the spring returns to its original position. When the knife is closed, the slider moves back, the spring stretches again, clinging to the locking axle, since the blade is still locked by the front stop, when the slider opens the front stop, the spring contracts and returns the blade inside the knife.
Hey bro, just wanna point out that there is alot of wrong with your template, i have failed making the exact same knife about 3 times now until i realized that there is alot of wrong on the template, i whould appreciate it if you whould update your template so its actually useful, thanks👍

This would be hard to stash in the ole prison pocket.
Good knife and you should use real blade instead of wooden blade.
Template give me bro
Now I want to make a bone knife…
I cant understand the mechanims😢

Bagus
Hottest and prettiest woman in the world IMHO
Where are the templates??
The better question is WHY
Line the side of the blade with obsidian or have the blade made from obsidian stone .

his worked!! maybe its the producer not the product??
He showed that his template works in the video, if you’re the one failing to make it several times then you just have a skill issue
This time I will use woodglut plans for this.
Where is the template?
