Thanks, hopefully I'll get more drone footage in future but as you know the original mavic mini doesn't perform welll in the strong winds we keep getting. Better luck next year hopefully.
@@anotherangleUK I watched yer video at 3am in the morning as was down checking Rachel May at Boddam harbour at 2.30 I wrote oot a long speil and musthae forgot tae press the send button so it vanishen, was half asleep
@@anotherangleUK perfect conditions Phil, tge tide was ebbing oot so had tae mak sure she was resting on a peice of timmer so her side wasn’t lying on steens, I am editing the video as we speek lol
Very well done, Gents. Looked like a great day out and an overdue catch up and chinwag. Its times like that where the fish are a mere welcomed bonus. All the best
Lovely spot there, mate! Very tough odds to run into your target species, but it's good you managed to get such bonny wild trout! One for my list, Rannoch. Is it free or do you need a ticket?? Cheers Dave 👍👍
Thanks Dave, I called into the village shop / post office to buy a ticket. They said pay the warden on the bank when he comes around. There are a few places where you can park and I'm sure you'd do well on the fly.
It is scarry to ride on the left of the road when accustomed to driving on the right!!! Good fishing to you! CHEERS from Canada! P S Douglas talks like my grandparents did with Scottish accent!
I think I read in the past that the road priority here came from the knights of old riding their horses. As most were right handed, they passed on the left so they could defend / attack with a sword in their right hand. True? I don't know, but it's a nice story .
Thanks, we've had char from the bank at another loch but don't think we had sufficient depth in front of us here. th-cam.com/video/f7J1oYvfBN0/w-d-xo.html
The only time I have seen char from Rannoch was many years ago when the university of Glasgow where doing research on char and the foremost char expert who wrote books on char was there, and they were netting in the middle of the loch and putting char in big bins the expert guy showed me the two types of char in the loch the ones that live on the bottom and the ones that live halfway, the bottom ones are very dark in colour.
Thanks for that information. Those Charr are a most interesting species. I've enjoyed reading about them and how different they are even within the same loch.
Great video, lovely scenery, great company and a good fish. What more could anybody want?
Can't agree more and as a bonus the midges stayed away 👍
What a beautiful country we live in! Good to see you guys getting out together, stunning fish. The smiles at the end said it all.
Thanks, you’re not wrong there. It was a lovely day out in good company.
Great wee video lads, well done 👏
Thanks 👍. We were lucky with the weather and I was fortunate to be able to fly the drone without fear of the wind blowing it away.
Nice one Phil, stunning scenery, and what a puddle you were fishing in, The rig is called a helicopter rig, anti tangle, Thank you,
Thanks James, Rannock is a big loch with trout and some charr. Lovely place to fish.
So good meeting up with you for this trip, we waited too long for this catchup. Shame the fishing wasn’t as good as the chat.
CheersDouglas. Those little trout had some beautiful markings and colours which made up for lack of numbers. We'll have to get together again soon.
Nice video Phil. really upped your game at the beggining there and I see you got the drone out!!

That's a dedicated skipper to be checking the boat at 2:30 - was the weather a bit lumpy again?

Another day in the life of a skipper. Hard graft mate, credit to you for all the effort you put in to run the charter boat.
Some beautiful fish there.
Such amazing variety of colours an patterns across the different lochs. Always a pleasure to catch and release.

You’re right there, we did more chattering than concentrating on the fishing rods.

Thanks, hopefully it was just the road sides and not my driving that scared you 😀.
@@anotherangleUK It was a lovely drive through scenic countryside. Just me nervous about driving on the left of the road!!!
