  • The 6th-generation Ford Explorer has been on sale since 2019. But the three-row SUV segment is a competitive one so for 2025, Ford is ready to give the Explorer a refresh. Jessica Ray recently hit the roads in the suburbs of Detroit for a First Drive to see what this revised Explorer is all about.

    * Revert back to its roots as a Ranger-based midsize SUV
    * Morph into a Bronco-inspired 3-row SUV thus scrapping the ST-Line and ST trims in favor of the laid-back Tremor, mid-level Wildtrak, and extremely feral Raptor trims to keep the SUV on the same boat as the ladder-frame F-Series and Ranger pickups as well as the Bronco off-roader

@roberthoyt7921 You're tripping! Ford makes MONEY hand over fist on ALL the truck models they sell! Why would they drop and or incorporate all of their truck models like that when they know what sells and what doesn't?! NO OTHER car manufacturer can match the Ford Explorer ST in value for the performance and features it has. You'll need a six figure, V8 powered BMW X5 to beat the Explorer ST, as the V6 X5's can't touch the Explorer ST with a stick! Ask me how I know! Most BMW sedan's aren't a match either.. Again, ask me how I know! The Explorer ST only needs a 50-100HP increase in my book. Until then, I'll keep my tuned 2020 Explorer ST.
