Great video: the lighting and sound -- including your mellow, soothing voice -- are immaculate and sumptuous, your playing and recording are excellent, and the review is very helpful.
Sounds like a cost effective piece of kit especially if you're "On The Go". Love AmpliTube 5 with the Fulltone Collection...OCD + Tri Chorus. AMAZING! :)
All these interfaces are so good now. I came from RME (ambition to go pro), had a disaster experience (buying new, they had a production fault, made a recall, and the unit I got back was not new but years used - and I was never able to get a new one like the one I bought). Never again! That's when I switched to focusrite. First Scarlett, then Clarett, and never looked back. I mean, listen to my albums of the past 20 years. Don't tell me you hear when I switched interfaces :-).
It's probably completely unfair but RME has always seemed a slightly odd company - I can't quite put my finger on why! But Focusrite, especially the Clarett, is such a solid choice (except perhaps the Control Panel software). For me interfaces have become about low noise and reliable connection (especially when using hubs, sleep mode, etc). But this Axe IO One actually does have a profound effect on the sound... which has surprised me
@@JonWrightMusicTV I kept quiet because the guys in Rockshop Karlsruhe, were I bought it, were always had my back in the first years producing (mid 90s). When I had nearly no money. But I always felt cheated. It's like buying a new car, then something needs to get fixed, then you get an identical car that is 1 year old with mileage. What? Anyway, I just noticed you also got the Clarett 8PreUSB. Couldn't be happier. Ok, the app (focusrite control) - I agree. Cheers!
The fact that it's also capable of re-amping at this price point is a gamechanger, and I'm betting that Jfet input potentially plays well with "front of amp" analog fuzz, wah, and drives. I've been using a combination of a Fet boost into a Vox Valve Energy Silk Drive set just on the edge of breakup to liven up the "feel" of my amp sim plugins, and to incorporate analog drive pedals convincingly without worry of clipping the preamp on my Focusrite. So far my experiments with that setup have been interesting. Anyway, great demo Jon! I'll definitely be looking at getting an Axe I/O One asap. With it's features and mobility? What's not to love? Cheers!
I just stumbled onto your channel and really enjoyed your video. Well done. And I loved that song you were playing. I really like the form factor of the interface as well. I'm planning on getting either one of these or one of the other axe interfaces. I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos. Great job!
If you purchase the larger Axe I/O interface from Sweetwater it comes bundled with Amplitube 5 Max & Tonex Max for $450! That's an incredible value IMO! Good luck. Cheers✌
@@johnborges9201 I mean, if I was going to potentially invest significantly into some software ecosystem such as this? I’d definitely consider it. In the long run it’s basically saving you around a ballpark of $1000😬 ✌️🤟🖖
great video, thank you for going into detail on it. torn right now as there are some good deals to be had. The Axe I/O One (including Amplitube 5 SE and Tonex SE) for $80usd, or the older Axe I/O (including Amplitube 5 MAX and Tonex MAX) for $350... AT 5 Max and Tonex Max are on sale fo $99 each. Just trying to decide if I would benefit from the older unit or not for $350 all in, or spend a little less and get the ONE + AT5 Max and Tonex Max for $280. What are you thoughts?
Thank you for this video! One question if I may. Can you use it on live context using vst effects with a daw and connecting your amp through the amp out output or does it have too much latency for live performance seen the cheap prize? (I wasn't able to find the buffer size rates)
Using a condenser mic, do you feel this can record fairly good vocals (not amazing I’m sure) thoughts? I’ve used the iRig I/O Pro for vocals and it was nice, will this you think give a similar quality?
@@sealinski I haven't tried the Amplitube wahs. My guess, based on the other effects, would be yes - and if you have an expression pedal - a cheap one will do - you can connect direct to the interface and control it way that way. Really really easy.
I'm very much looking forward to buying this to compliment my setup I'll be upgrading soon. Though subtle, I think the options that this interface offers will be excellent to go alongside my 2i2. That, and the price point alongside the SE version of Amplitube being added on in there makes the deal ever so sweeter. Many thanks for the informative video!
My pleasure. Yeah I genuinely think those input options are worth it alone... hope you get on well with it! (link above if you want to buy through link and help out the channel)

Oh do behave you old charmer
Man that bass line is really nicely played, the whole thing really. Love it!
Thank you! As a guitar player, I value that!

As others have commented, great demo and explanation. I found your video by looking for a way to connect expression pedal to Amplitude.
Glad it was helpful!
I do the same Have the AXE I/O strictly for guitars and an RME for everything else. Love this lil unit
It's a surprisingly cool solution isn't it!

Great review! To the point, clear, informative, not a second wasted, and pleasant. Thank you! I have subscribed (thumbs up)
Just what I aim for! Thanks
This is a great review. Great style and easy to understand explanation. Very relatable subscribed. Please review Darkglass nsg.
Be great to see what you think of the Blackstar Polar 2 which also has jfet and other features that make it good with plugins
Very informative. Thank You.

This may be a goos option if your PC is out of date & latency is an issue when recording. Great video and a new sub! 👍🏼👍🏼

Oh I'm 100% confident that this will do lovely vocals with a condenser mic. There's no problem with the preamp at all, it's very very competitive.
Hi there. Does it work with iPads?
Hello friend! This audio interface can be unlinked from the account, for example, if I want to sell it later?
I do not know the answer to this I'm afraid, but I don't think it has to be linked to work.
@@JonWrightMusicTV It is possible, but after some time after activation
Can i load my tones on it? Or always need computer to use amplitube and tonex tones?
What is that autowah?
It’s the Nu-tron, in Amplitube
It’s the Nu-Tron in Amplitube. I really like it…
Do you feel they it can take care of most general wah sound needs without a pedal?
