I was in Subic at Blue Rock Resort a few years ago, thanks for the return of a nice memory in Subic. I noticed at your resort there was a beautiful filipina woman in your room, mine did not come so well equipped. Hope my attempt at humour and a compliment to your wife are okay. My night and day patterns took weeks to stabilize, but they did, and relaxing into the new life is a great way to make the initial transition. The Merman and Mermaid was great. Stay safe , be happy, salamat your video.
That smile @ 3:13, only men that been to the Philippines that feeling. I went through my separation in 2016. In 2017 June of 2017 I landed in manila. My famous Cheshire cat smile reappeared.
Subic Bay looks great and isn't all that far from where my wife and I plan to retire (San Fernando Pampanga). We hope to spend some time on the beach at Subic Bay once we have the chance to get over there again, for a break from work here in Canada.
Great video Philly you were actually staying in Barrio Barretto, that road down Baloy Beach Rd really needs to be paved I have seen it so bad that it looks like a river. I was stationed in Subic/Olongapo back in 1985 as a young US Marine I'm very fond of the area but my fiance wants us to settle down in Cavite city of Santa Rosa also a beautiful place.
Subic city is past Barrio baretta, the bars aren't there anymore so Barrio baretta is where you would go now, subic bay is the base, subic city was marylyns, sweet 16,and bars like that
I was stationed there in 72 and 73 cubi point and how things have changed I miss those old days. Papagayo restaurant Pauline's the Cherry Club the Gemini Club Jolo Club and many many more
Nice to see the subic bay, lm already retired but lm waiting for a year before I’ll come to visit my own place in pampanga.i didn’t collect yet my SSS maybe another year or so.i can’t wait to see those beautiful places.
Subic Bay is the Bay water itself, got its name from the town of Subic which is next to Olongapo City. Barretto is a village or Barangay of Olongapo City. The Base itself is called Subic Base because of the Bay, but is not part of Subic town but of Olongapo.City. I hope this helps. Thank You PhillyinthePhilippines for loving the place.
Subizza is a nice place to stay, but I was unfamiliar with the name change as it was called "Shavens" before, because of this the wife and I ended up booking the hotel next door at "Mangroves" (also a nice place to stay).
Enjoyed the vid?! I just jumped off the Turnpike in Breezewood, PA near ur neck of the woods give or take a few hundred miles? I'll be in Delaware early in the morning for delivery? No more Tolls for you, huh? Anywayz, I look to forward to following in the footsteps of the many Expats b4 me in going to Philippines? For the past few months I've been Online and on Skype and Viber with a Filipina from Iligan City whom I plan on visiting with in September or October 2016 for about 4 to 6 weeks? So far so good and I can't w8 to get the K1 Fiancee Visa process going so that I we can enjoy life here in California which is where I'm from? But I look forward to absorbing your insight and perspective on your journey and experiences in the Philippines? In the meantime, be careful out there and have a blessed, positive, healthy and safe day?
Thanks for viewing the videos. Good luck to you and your woman and your journey in life together. Enjoy your trip to the Philippines and take in as much as you can. Your visit here will go by very fast. Good luck with the K-1 visa.
Great programme, thanks a lot. I'm a South African. My country has a Western influenced infrastructure, just like Subic Bay. I have a kid in Negreos and I'm planning to move to the Philippines sooner. Are there any other cities or small towns you know that have the same infrastructure like Subic that are at least in Negroes or Cebu, By infrastructure I mean house designs, tarred roads, pavements, sewage systems and cleanliness. I have a feeling Subic is as such but a bit far from my would-be-family.
I lived in Cebu City's barangays (municipalities) such as Lahug and Taboc in Mandaue for about 2 years and I keep visiting on a yearly basis. Yes, I'm told that they are cleaner, compared to Manila but as an outsider (and I mean no offence), I still have some issues of my own, particularly with the infrastructure, the sewage system and the smell. Subic Bay's infrastructure is way much different to those of Cebu and Mandaue. In Cebu and Mandatue, there are still areas without drains or underground water pipes at all and very small pathways where pedestrians have to "fight it out" with dogs, motor vehicles and scooters. This makes walking on the street or roads a nightmare. I come from a city with large pavements where pedestrians are not at all at risk of being bumped by cars or tricycles. Please do not get offended, my country has it's own issues too. I love The Philippines and it's people very much hence I intend to move there. I'm just a bit too old to adapt to not having pavements and drains.
I remember my barrio barretto days showering nude with a filipina in the back area of the fun bars in the natural warm rain there the following morning after a fun night out with a bar hostesses; 1988 stationed there in Subic bay as a young single sailor. I was so refreshing after an outdoor shower from the monsoon heavy rainshowers.
I've registered for a space-A and I should leave Jax NAS Around the 26th this month. Will stop by or stay for about two weeks in Honolulu. Supposed to go back home from there but if there's a space -A flight from there going to Japan or Korea then I'll take it all the way to the Philippines (Clark airport). I've noticed that this video is old (last year). It's now May 2018.
Lived in that shit hole for 6 years ...moved to Saigon. What a difference. In SGN... electric 100%, at 1/3 cost, fiber 25mbs internet $10 a month... Everything better cheaper and without Filipina drama.
Brian looks like a nice place. there seems to be so many nice places all over. what's up with all these jealous people talking about pedophiles. they're not even there in the Philippines. so they want to condemn everybody that is. jealousy jealousy jealousy
Thanks for the vid. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I am waiting patiently until I return to the Philippines!!
We usually visit Subic Bay annually... it was our first home together. Food, friends, good times always await us. Then we come back home to paradise!
Subic is nice but not where we want to call home.
It's getting rather pricey up that way.
😊

Subic is a beautiful place. I have not done much traveling around Subic but we plan to make more trips down there and checking more places out.
Philinthephippines, There is now a retired community in Subic bay it's called Subic homes i have watched the video clip in TH-cam sometime last year.
Use to vacation in Grande Island... 40 minute ferry ride from Subic Bay
To be fair this is not Subic Bay. It's located 15-20 minutes drive outside of Subic Bay. This place is called Baretto.
You are correct.
