As a Sri lankan am really proud of you. Am starting my day after listening to your inspiring and motivational speeches. It's really helpful to pass all the drawbacks and achieve tremendous success to our lives.
This is the perfect expression of the feelings that led me to homeschool my three sons. I would always tell anyone who asked, that I wanted them to have a passion, at least one. People usually looked at me like I was crazy. Having been raised and schooled in strict Catholic fashion, I wanted something completely different for them. My oldest is a self-taught and employed character artist, the second is transitioning from his passion for guitar to another of his passions - programming, (also self-taught) and the youngest just won first place for his speech to entertain about being homeschooled this past weekend. Hearing your words is much appreciated, much needed validation for the choices I've made as I sit here a bit stuck in my transition to my next adventure. Thank you.
It's funny cos I'm thinking of the same thing now as we speak. It's the first thing that came to mind actually when he spoke about formal education. It does. It has the capacity to break a child, almost unbearable sometimes...
Dananjaya, you will always be my eternal winner when it comes to Public Speaking. When I look into your eyes, I am lost in your words yet find conviction to believe.
So true Dananjaya ! Academic success does not bring happiness or create a wholesome successful human being. It is the passion for creativity and adventure that brings happiness and that happiness leads the way to great success ! I can personally vouch for this through my own experience.
Absolutely agree! It dulls the senses, the creativity, the inborn talents and makes parrots of us. It teaches us answers to specific questions but does not give us the chance to come up with our own answers. It restricts you, your spirit, your soul inside 4 walls and to escape seems impossible. But you CAN escape-I think you have found a way-of helping others too, to realize this. Keep it up!

No offence Mr. Dananjaya what you are saying becomes true only for a greater minority who has some serious luck going on their way. One would keep chasing their passion and find nothing at all.at the end. This message you want to convey, every body loves to hear that. But the truth is that nothing comes along without a proper guidance, practice and hard work. A proper message to deliver would be to explore yourself after setting up the foundation other wise nobody will notice your presence at least. A smart man always knows how to explore them selves while they are having the education. By the way I had the privilege of witnessing one of your speeches and went speechless. You are such a talent and a pride to our country. All the best for your good work.!!
Viduranga Thuduwage actually the education system puts you down It's not because education is bad but the current system is bad and it creates slaves (employs) Get out of the system and struggle either you make it in the top or you just need to struggle a little more I never wonder why I can't find mojority of highly qualified people as success full people

Mr. Danajaya, what if a person decides to follow his dreams or what he really good at and then to do better in that field he decides to educate himself in that direction? is that ok?
Interesting thought Dananjaya, but how do you propose society goes about making doctors, engineers, lawyers, astronauts etc. without formal/structured education? :)
Hey Mr dananjaya actually I stopped my journey in Colombo gavel club because of a rumour! Do u think I'm foolish? Do I have to start it again? I loved public speaking but they didn't give me even a one chance😭😭😭😭
I don't know-when I am curious, I educate myself, and when I am in school, I can ask questions and find out about so many subjects and how they relate to each other. I suspect that capitalism is the dream killer, not "education." Perhaps teachers should be allowed to teach, or educate, and administrators and politicians should stay out of it. The Montessori model and the Socratic method used in many schools are wonderful.
that's exactly what I think for academic education but I'm amused of the fact that everywhere and anywhere we need academic qualification to show your eligibility even in sectors like art and culture??
@Dananjaya J Hettiarachchi i like what you said about this, but dont you think that a person needs to have some sort of education, rather than no education? but the point is Not to get an over dose of it... which is what basically everyone else around you and me are doing. its just that we need to change our prespective about how we see things in life. :)
