I installed a KRG on my Howa, and it works great. I like the G&G more. The KRG is fitted with screws, and I accidently torqued my down where the screws just barely broke through the opposite side.

Love your howa would like to get one some day. I've been playing with an old Shultz and larson 30 06 mauser action custom bull barrel. It's alot of fun but not a comp rifle
I'm not saying you are running your bolt wrong. You shoot your gun the way you want to haha. But I flat palm my bolt. So it wouldn't help me non. I don't grip the end of the bolt. I just push the bolt up with my hand in between my thumb and index and I push it down with my thumb

What I'd like to know is how you slicked up your action? I have 2 brand new 1500s I know they'll eventually smooth out with shooting.
