    I put the old handle in the vice. I felt that was safer. Just put it on my Axis II 223. That sucker was on tight!!

    Damn bro, I didn't even realize how much larger the Glades bolt handle is. I am looking at one in stainless for my Axis II XP. That handle is huge! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

      @extrarounds3827  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hell yea brother and once you buy the handle you can switch out the knobs if you want but it makes gunning the bolt like nothing with all the leverage you get

    I'm going to order one. I bought one of their bolt handles for the TC venture and it made a huge difference. Hoping it helps with the stiffness when lifting the handle too. I got the kit to lighten the bolt lift but this should help too.

      Between the kit and the handle, whole different thing now. Huge difference in ease of lifting the bolt. Much better feel too.

    I just used the bolt handle as leverage, with wrench in, place on floor and press down.

    Quick tip for anyone
    Make sure chamber is clear
    Dry fire it ( preferably with a snap cap)
    Do it while the bolt is in the firearm
    And save ur fingers

    Question... Is it possible to make it to tight?
    After I installed mine the bolt sticks for a few seconds after I fire it. Drives me nuts!
    The reason I purchased the same bolt and knob as well.. was due to the factory bolt riding the bell of the scope. The package was put together with high rings and it still scratched the scope. I tried extra high rings... Hated the look plus still scratched the scope!
    So.. I ordered the Glade's tactical bolt handle with knob and picked up low rings. Definitely looks great!
    Thanks for sharing this brother 🙂

      It could be to tight if I were you I’d take it back off and check it..maybe some crap got dropped in there or something..I just put some blue lok tite on there and tightened it a bit not to much but still enough for it to stay on and the blue lok tite will also keep it on…might just need to play with it to get it right

    • @blackie1of4
      @blackie1of4 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@extrarounds3827 definitely gonna try that. Hopefully it is just to tight.

    What brand of rail did you use?

    • @extrarounds3827
      @extrarounds3827  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t really remember but there are a bunch of rail pieces for the Savage I think Revolution Gun works has one it’s about $40 or weaver has their rails which are not 1913 but honestly you can make it work but I would go with the revolution….also when you are taking out the screws if you axis has them be very very very careful and also that goes with installing your rail if it ain’t screwing in then back it out and check the threads…also blue lok tite is your friend when installing a rail and rings so let it set up for a day for best results

    Put wood on the Vic to not mark up the Savage bolt is better than a Towel ⁉️ I just noch the wood to fit on the jaw's so they don't fall off. I like the handle but it would get cot on stuff -if I get one.

  • @bass69player

    Dude, you don't need a vice to loosen that 1/4" BAS (End Cap).

    • @extrarounds3827
      @extrarounds3827  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The first time it’s ever been loosened oh yes you do…go look at some videos of first time loosening the bolt on a savage axis you will see a lot of people using a vise and also it’s just easier so I don’t have to hold it so I don’t understand your problem

    • @bass69player

      @@extrarounds3827 From having to loosen two factory tighten ones on a axis ii precision, not vice needed. Just my experience.

      Everyone's experiences are different. You can do it without a vice, so "YAY" for you, but the vice was a better option for the OP.
