    Pro tip on how to install the bolt handle. Check the Chamber of your firearm make sure it's clear squeeze the trigger releasing the firing pin then unscrew the cap and install the bolt handle

    I bought the same shaft and knob from Glades Armory. It makes the action on my Savage 10 FCP-SR many times better and easier. I just love it. It is extremely precision made. The mass is not bad because of the alloy knob and the reduced mass in the steel shaft. The fit was 100% perfect too.

      ***** I love it too man.. a lot of people were saying there is a problem with primary extraction and such but I dont find that at all. Thanks for watching. Safe shooting

      cigarbufff Me too. I heard the same thing. Mine extracts and ejects just fine. I was all set to buy the "enhanced items" on the aftermarket. No need as of yet.

    I loved glad armory bolt handle, but only one thing that they needed to improve are cz bolt handle need to bend the handle to make clearance so not to hit the scope without additional railing

    I bought something that looks identical from savage... but it was $40 and genuine savage part. Also it is single piece not 2, which can be a pro or a con.

    I also have a Savage in 223, with the puny Bolt Handle, I had considered replacing it with something larger but feared the Gunsmith cost for such a small annoyance. Now you have shown that it can be a DIY project at only the cost of the part. Many thanks.

    Hey man i also have a savage axis xp in 22-250, mine came with a bushnell scope pre-mounted and the bolt handle to scope clearance is tight as-is. I'm wondering what type of scope you have and if you think a glades armory bolt know would clear with a standard 3-9x40 scope

    • @CanadianGearAddict
      @CanadianGearAddict  10 ปีที่แล้ว

  • @TJ4774

    you should do yourself a solid and get rid of the tupaware stock. The savage factory stocks aren't nearly as bad as Remington's but almost any aftermarket is an upgrade. where I got used to toating a 25lb rifle around I stuck a Choate Ultimate SS on mine and it's insane. recoil feels like a .22 now but offhand is tiresome.

    Actually, upon closer scrutiny, I do have your model bolt and knob. Except my bolt knob is a bit longer (same look and style). th-cam.com/video/U-l9EBnCoY0/w-d-xo.html. Mine carries FOUR O rings because of the extra length. Glades Armory sent me a FREE spare bolt knob along with the missing O rings from my original order. I was pretty surprised. It is one of the "medieval club" versions. I really looks like a miniature club LOL. It's pretty cool, but I like our version the best. I am glad I asked for the missing Orings. They make the bolt knob the perfect blend of grip and comfort. Glades rocks. Thanks for posting this great video so I could share my opinion.

    That is not a bolt handle for an axis,the axis bolt handle has primary extraction built into the handle and is round.there are none like it for a savage.go on glades armory web site and find the proper bolt handle for the savage axis I believe they are the only company that makes them.that bolt handle is for a 10-110,11 etc.
