    Your brilliant, I've always wanted to put a 619 engine in my 7520. The tractor is absolutely beautiful. It just kept getting better the longer the video went. Did you need to put a bigger radiator in with the 619 engine? I have way too many questions to ask in this format. Congratulations. The interior was the biggest surprise for me. It was beautiful

    • @Subthump1
      @Subthump1  12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Thanks for the compliments. I kept the same radiator. I know of others who have swapped to the 619 and done okay so I'm hoping it will keep it cool. I could have gone on all day about all I did but I had to keep it compact for the video. I forgot to mention in the vid that I hooked up the hyd. seat so probably the only 7520 to ever have a hydra-cushion seat. Plus I put all new glass in except the back window.

    • @truthandfreedom885
      @truthandfreedom885 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @Subthump1 That's wonderful no more squeaky seat sound as you bounce across the field. I've got many a thousands of hours on my 7520 that my Uncle Dave bought new in 1974 . My dad bought one of the first 7520s I believe it was a 1973 and he paid $22,000 for it. The very next year my uncle Dave bought one and he had to pay $32,000 for his. That's when Nixon sold all the wheat to Russia and the farmers thought the good times were going to last forever.

  • @MrMan5014
    @MrMan5014 12 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

    So basically you built a 7520 from scratch the way a 7520 should have been built in the first place!..she’s a beaut!.

    • @Subthump1
      @Subthump1  12 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Yes, that is exactly how to describe it. Muscle car guys would call it a resto-mod. Take a 69 Camaro for instance, drop in a LS motor, all new suspension, frame-off the body, new wheels, tires and interior. Boom you have something way better than the original.

    • @MrMan5014

      @ the old stuff was nice to look at but horrible to drive and operate…and sometimes down right dangerous!..

    I think the Only Thing Left of a 7520 is the Frame & Hood Panels, that’s it.

  • @glennspreeman1634

    Interesting that the station height wasn't a problem like putting a sound guard on a '20 series 2 wheel drive

    • @Subthump1
      @Subthump1  10 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      You would not believe how much time and effort that went into getting the cab lower and lower to the platform so that the cab doesn't look higher. If you notice, the yellow stripe on the hood and side of the cab are almost in perfect alignment. That's one the finer details but making that line up was one of my goals early on. I notched a bunch of the supports under the cab to gain the last couple inches.

    We had a 7520 for over 15 years. Most dependable of the JD 4WD JD tractors built until the 60 series and floating engine mounts. The 30, 40 and 50 series with the 619 all had the same issues with not enough strength in the front frame and using the engine to substitute. I wish I had a dollar for all the engine failures this caused. We bought a Caterpillar 75D and have never looked back. John Deere is a shadow of its former self. That artistic rendition of a Deer was a change from the actual profile of the Deer of days gone by. When they did that, my JD parts guy says they fired the quality control department.

    Im being an internet wise ass here...Wouldnt it have been much easier to put a 7520 hood on a 8650? Or did the project head this direction, too far gone to go back?

    • @Subthump1
      @Subthump1  5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      What would the point in that be? A 7520 hood is much too short and narrow without major sheet metal work. Plus I already had the 7520, just wanted to upgrade it and make it awesome.

    • @pauldevloo5231
      @pauldevloo5231 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Subthump1 you did a great job, the point would be, you would get the advancements of the 8650, can pick them up for same price as a 7520. for all the work you did here, it wouldnt be that out of line to put the 7520 hood on an 8650
