I like these budget-friendly ideas. We are experimenting with the idea of learning to do our own screenprinting to do custom, small-quantity, but cheap t-shirts; however, screen printing is no joke! It takes more time, patience, and a lot of space to lay out the drying shirt than we can muster! So, your ideas sound MUCH easier and much simpler to pull off. Thanks, again.
Those are some cool ideas. I've been brainstorming about this sort of thing recently. Not so much for gigs as we don't play live all that often these days, but stuff we can sell online. A friend put me onto Teesprings which is a pretty cool site. Possibly one of the strangest pieces of merch I've seen recently though would have to be Brian Botkiller's "USB Brick". It's a USB stick with an album on it, attached to a brick.
Is that one of those sites where you just upload the t-short design and they sell on demand? I've been meaning to look into those kind of companies to do a comparison video at some point (vs getting them made yourself etc). I love the idea of it but I'm guessing they're quite pricey just to buy one shirt.
