I love JRPGs that have mythical mysterious forests. Especially if the area itself has some kind of mysterious past or crazy lore behind it. I also love when the themes for those areas are pretty with a sense of something else in the background. That kind of music definitely influenced a lot of what I do. Here's a little something I've been putting together. I'd still like to tweak it a bit, but I hope you enjoy what it is for now! This is "Song That Plays When the JRPG Characters Get Lost in a Forest" but also known as "Where She Sleeps"

Sounds like a mix of Xenoblade, Deltarune, and Nier-but above all, uniquely you. I love how you've grown with the use of keyboard / piano / general atmosphere!

The piano vamp sounds very Layton-esque
Really has those Deltarune mystery cords (during the dark fountain scenes) and the general vibes of stuff like chapter 1s forest music and city music.
Also sounds kinda like monster hunter music

epic battle music mixed with or interrupted by sheer terror.
Imagining something like a secluded, misty village with signs of life around, but nobody coming out

This sounds a little like "girl next door" at least the beginning and a little like "moonsetter" after the chords and like "the Holy" in the middle
I really like this, well made and provides exactly the right atmosphere. I've been dabbling in making RPG themes for a while now and this is giving me a lot of ideas on how to make my stuff better (If I can ever stop making Desert Battle themes, that is. For some reason I'm stuck on those types of melodies lol)

I would think of a little girl (the protagonist), a little boy (who got lost from his home), and the protagonist's ghost-like "friend" (the protagonist's embodiment of her consciousness, because the girl is a "hollow body" controlled by the player), about to start wandering in a rainforest, despite the lost boy's warning about the dangers of the place. The protagonist didn't take time to listen to his warnings and started straight-up strolling into the Woods.
0:37-0:48
Suddenly, the boy and the ghost started feeling a bit anxious from the place.
"I... think I don't wanna go further anymore..." The boy quivered. However, the girl showed no fear, and continued within the depths of the forest.
There were voices from parts of the forest, chanting a sentence, further warning the three who entered the forest, saying:
"Deep in this forest, where she sleeps... A treacherous memory you will keep. Brave ones, travel this place if you dare... Ends there with a lost soul, none of you will be spared."
0:49-1:00
Now, darkness intensifies the forest, making the boy and the ghost really creeped out. The girl still gets no reaction, and keeps going. As more voices were heard, the tone of the ambience gets strange and more scary.
"[Name], I think we should move back now... We might be walking in circles." The boy said, trying to keep the girl's attention, but she refused and kept on going.
They now started encountering enemies, and fought them... (They might've survived...)
1:01-1:24
Now the ambience still giving a light-hearted theme... there were new voices. The scary tension is released from the boy and the ghost. But, that atmosphere gives off some false hope vibes...
1:25-1:54
Ambience gets dark again, and new voices were heard... further giving the two more of a scare.
Those voices tell the story of a spirit who take lost children in this forest, and those children never came back again. The spirit is a trickster, and could turn into many forms.
After what seems like forever, you nearly reached the end of the forest. The same voices chants again, saying:
"Well done, little ones... braved the dangerous, with initial purpose. Now that you're here, take first a rest... Seek preparedness, for your journey begins."
There... you created your Save File.
1:55-2:06
The journey of the dark forest seems to be over. The two were relieved as soon as they've escaped the forest.
"I hope it's now over... I might see my parents again..." The boy said, sighing
But, no one knows what lies farther from this forest. Could it be... another world? Another new world to discover?

This is too long and tiring for me to write... yet it's so worth it. I now like this storyline I made... (It gives a bit of Undertale/Deltarune feel honestly...)

i don’t know if this can be a bit upsetting to hear or not (i don’t know how much people like hearing their music compared to other works..) but in my opinion this song reminds me of the professor layton franchise (which i love and it’s a very good thing that it sounds like it)
