I also got 3 wax pencils from aliexpress for 99cents. They are 9 inches and work very well for picking up sequins, beads, stones etc etc. I also ordered a Krystal katana type tool that came with a case for 2.63$ the wax tip screws off and can be replaced. The refills cost anywhere from 26-70 cents depending on where you buy them from. All free shipping. This is also a great video thank you for your tip
What a great idea i cant believe i was gonna purchase one of these picker uppers and i have these sticks at home i use them to stir my paints. Great video Charlie
I have to say I love you!! Lol this is an awesome tutorial!! I needed something and with this pandemic everything is closed in ontario Canada this is awesome thanks again!!!
Amazing. Thank you. I was curious if I could make my own this way - it’s perfect. Now, time to go clear my Amazon cart with the tool I was going to buy!! ;)
Thank you so much for this! I just bought glue for my rhinestones and realized i forgot to get a wax pen so this was a huge help and definitely saved me a couple bucks!
Thank you SO much! I was just ready to looking for a pick up stick online when I ran into your video - what a great idea! Going to try it with the small beads I use in my wire crafting. Have a great day!
Thank you! Ive spent so much on items to do my own nails and I was not about to spend another 15 bucks to get a picker upper LOL I was like I know there’s a DIY or something out there
Girl yas$!!!!! Thanks girl. For a while i was using a tooth pick and petroleum jelly... Which was awsome for picking up.. But sucked at releasing...and would leave a oily feel....made it hard to dry. 🙄 Im just really cheap...and with 3 kids $$$ is tight. You are awsome!!!
I also came up with this idea. I'm a "do it your-selfer" & couldn't see spending all that money on a special tool. I find soy candles from the $1.00 Tree (store) work well. They are a soft wax. Some come with plastic covers so the wax will last forever! I also use orange sticks & when I told my 35 yr. old daughter what I did, she said "what the heck is an orange stick", LOL!!!!!
the stones fall off your nails?...you can use nail glue or a clear gel (if you have gel or acrylic nails).. you can even us acrylic on reg polish to hold stones...if you use nail glue to hold them down use a strong top coat like Dazzle dry to go over them :o)
Btwahank you very much. I'm always buying wax tips for my pickers from Amazon but now I can just use my candles that I pretty much always have burning. Wondered if candle wax could be used. So thank you very much. Also, I LOVE your nails. I used to get air brushing all the time. I loved it.
Here I am at the end of 2017 and seen where wax will pick these up.... thank you for this video!! I can't afford these whacky expensive items, this is super easy and inexpensive! :D I just wanna know why in the world wax?? I never would've believed it until I seen it work!
Thank you! I am a watch repairman and some of the screws are barley visible to the naked eye and are beyond the best tweezers, so this was just the thing!
Although I will say this works the residue of the wax on whatever object you’re using rubs off on the top of the rhinestones making them cloudy and kind of ruining them
Thank you! I was about to buy one from amazon and thought, there has to be an inexpensive way to do this on my own. Appreciate it!
you are very welcome..glad it was able to help :o)

Very helpful! Thank you!
Crayon ? Will that work? With a stick skewer ?
does the stone get any marks or stain of the wax in it
Would a colored pencil work do you think?
Thanks for this!!! 72K views and nobody gave you a like yet? You’ve got mine!
Thank you. Gonna make me one today.
Can u use the wax from wax burners? Does it need to be 100% dry b4 touching the rhinestones?
i used the wax from scenty and it works.. you just want it to have a sticky tack but not soft..
glad I saw this video before I made a purchase
