    Beautiful demo. You really made music with it instead of just tweaking every knob all the time. This was one of the most convincing clips of what rs-505 is capable for 👍

    This is an amazing demo of this fantastic machine. Warm, moving, evocative ... this piece is a wonderful testimony of the mindblowing sound quality of the RS 505.
    I own one myself and this is my favorite stringer by a big distance ... the bass is so dawn deep and blends to perfection with the richness of the strings.
    I am deeply admirative of your talent and Kudos for your mastery of this goddly machine !

    I've got one of these bad boys, I bought it in '93 for $150 and loved the big bass sounds and trippy pink floydesque oscillators, but didn't really like the strings side, I was wrong they so lush. Anyone tell how much these are worth? Not gonna sell it, still love it too much.

      Not cheap, but absolutely capable of recreating those sounds: Nord Wave 2 or Nord Lead A1 because of their perfect ensemble effect. A combination of Streichfett and a filter could also do it. But I managed to create my best strings emulation on Synth Master One for iPad. After some tweaking of the ensemble parameters it can get incredibly warm and creamy - nearly as a Hohner String Melody. Greetings from a german stringmachine collector n🇩🇪🤝

    Is there any VST close to this Thing?

  • @jumpingman8160
    @jumpingman8160 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    those pads are the beauty of the old string machines from yore. Nothing really comes close to it in terms of simplicity and no-nonsense gear fiddling [i'm all for digital synths, but the simplicity of these old string machines is what makes them winners]. When paired with effects such as delay and reverb you can get lost in ambient making for days. Very immersive and "alive" [if I may use that term].

    • @MarsOneBeatz
      @MarsOneBeatz 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      David another good adjective: organic.

    • @jumpingman8160
      @jumpingman8160 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      yes, and limited too. A couple of good sounds in them and that's it. But no one complaints when a violin sounds like a violin.

    • @MarsOneBeatz
      @MarsOneBeatz 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      David limitations breed creativity.. take the sp-1200 for example

    • @jumpingman8160
      @jumpingman8160 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      and the Melotron, too. 8 seconds per note? whaaaaa? But it was used in such a phenomenal way by so many great artists.

    • @MarsOneBeatz
      @MarsOneBeatz 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      David Definitely the mellotron is still being used by artists and bands in record studios all around the world. Something about recording to tape is just magical. I saw one edm producer Legowelt who had the mastering technique of recording his final mix from his computer into an old Tascam mixer with a tape recorder to add some of the analog warmness to the track.
