- YOU NEED TO SEE THIS! We went to the TOP of The SYDNEY TOWER EYE in Australia! MIND BLOWING VIEWS!!!
Sydney Tower Eye, also known as Centre Point Tower is the tallest structure in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, and the second-tallest observation tower in the Southern Hemisphere. The tower stands 309 m (1,014 ft) above the Sydney central business district.

Hi Macmaster, David from Tasmania here again. Well that tour certainly brought back memories for me. I started working on the "Centrepoint Tower" as it was known then in 1971. In fact they were still blasting out the sandstone basements for the building services and car parks ( about 3 or 4 levels from memory) I was working for the company that installed all the Fire Protection. Automatic Sprinklers, Hydrants, Hose Reels etc. I was on site for about 2-1/2 years as the building went up, then moved down to the 54 storey AMP Tower at Circular Quay for a couple of years, and came back to the "Tower, when all the tenants moved in, to design all the sprinkler locations for the new tenants. One shop alone, (a prominent jewelry shop) took 6 months work. Fabulous views from up there. There was even very light snow up there on a couple of occasions, but it never hit the ground. When the restaurant in the Tower first opened, it had several fish tanks around the eating area. They looked fantastic. Unfortunately they had to take them out, because on windy days, people didn't like the look of the small waves that would set up in the fish tanks. The Tower actually moves about 3 to 4 feet on windy days, and even from the sun moving from one side of the Tower to the other, through expansion and contraction. I lived in Sydney up until 1987, so watching your Sydney tours is great. Had a few meals at "Harry's" after some nights out. It was nothing to be eating pies, with woman dressed in evening gowns and men in tuxedos. Keep up the good tours. Cheers, David
I remember going up to Centrepoint Tower as a kid early 80’s I think it was free back then
Originally called Centrepoint Tower when first built in 1981. Cheaper midweek, cost $A20 per person. Darling Harbour was developed in 1988 for the 200th anniversary of the arrival of the first fleet on 26th January 1788. Or as first nations people say "invasion day"
Great video, BUT the naval dock is GARDEN island, not Gardeners, and it IS an island. It was a smaller island & the navy created more land to almost join it back to the mainland but there is a small waterway of about 2m wide that separates the island
The QVB info was BS.
I have only been in the tower once and was in the revolving restaurant. Did you know the lifts are double decker and when I was there they had closed circuit TV showing the people in the other level. As a suggestion I would spend a day at Katoomba in the Blue Mountains, the views there are world class.
Katoomba and the Three Sisters, - stunning and unforgettable but a whole day out though.
Great view, price was steep. 👍🏴
Loved the Arcade with the terracotta tiles. Loved the atmosphere. WOW ❤ Beautiful Lee. 😊
The Queen Victoria Building has been through some really rough times but when they started the big renovation in the 80's they uncovered a lot of the original tessellated tile floors and stained glass windows covered over with plywood and thus well preserved (from memory). It's a gorgeous building with a fabulous tearoom on the top level. We are so lucky that it wasn't demolished!
Wow that's so awesome the story. I remember as a kid in the 60s mum And dad's first house was a mid terrace built in the 1880s, in what was then a small village called Baxenden near Accrington in Lancashire. The flooring into the front of the house and hallway was the same terracotta tiles. Took me back in time. 😁🤗😳
Tessellated I didn't know that was the name of the style thankyou . I remember wooden pieces on felt when I was in primary school reception in 1966. You could make patterns etc. Fixed in place by brass head pins. 👊☺️😉
Sydney looks very nice. So clean and tidy.
That's because there are huge gangs of contract cleaners picking up rubbish all day long and others in sweeper trucks keeping the streets clean. Some people say that Aussies are clean people but they're not, they're just a filthy as anyone else where ever they are in the world.
Fantastic views, and very interesting from the knowledgable Andrew👍
The QVB is such a treasure for Sydney, it would have to be one of the most beautiful shopping precincts in the world. Lee you have brought back some wonderful memories with your tour of the STE, thanks.
Lee brilliant video, absolutely loved it. You nailed it AGAIN The music was really good. I think there is something for each and every occasion, your choice was perfect. Thankyou!❤😎👍🥳💫
Cheers Lee 'n Andy, good vlog, awesome sights! 👈👉👆👇☝😎
It’s not “Gardeners Island” it’s “Garden Island”
And yes it was an island up until WWII when the Captain Cook Naval Graving Dock was constructed that joined the island to the main land, the dock is the largest of its type in the Southern Hemisphere.
My mistake.... Lee doesn't do retakes so it stayed 😂
Lee, the joke about the BYD is probably the funniest thing I’ve ever heard on your channel, it was just the deadpan delivery that got me 😂
Wow you can see why people flock to Australia it is so beautiful. Cracking views beautiful.
@@barnowl.
Minus Alaska.
Oh isn't Andrew a lovely chap. Great explanations of what everything is, thank you ❤
wow awesome views from up there😊😊😊
Lovely video great views onwards my friends 👍😀
Loving all these Aussie vids Lee, feel like we are there, great filming, Thank you!
Some of us are here and we enjoy seeing it too!
Wow! Stunning views and a great tour guide. Thank you both ❤❤
Thanks Eileen ❤
Don't know what you do for employment but think about being a tour guide. You were very informative with Lee xx
Just a small correction, the Navy base is at Garden Island, not Gardeners Island, and it was originally an island, but they filled in the gap to the shore and it is no longer an island.
I hope you are going to visit the Blue Mountains, especially 'Scenic World'. Love your down to earth clips.
Wow what some mind blowing views lee they are amazing views nice and beautiful day
Not very clear by Sydney standards. Clear days in winter give the best views.
Lovely arcade ,superb views from the tower although heights freak me out
👍
Great views from the top of The Sydney Tower Eye Lee. Your guide Andrew has been a wealth of information. The city really does shine all its glory from up there. One day I will make the long journey and visit this superb place.
Beethere several times
Amazing views from the tower Very enjoyable vlog Lee x👍
Great views Lee and another lovely video.
Breathtaking Lee! 🥰☀️🥰xxx
Thanks guys for another interesting video, with fabulous views, and lots of info from you Andrew thank you 😊
The tower is known to most Sydneysiders as Centrepoint tower and it was originally free to go to the observation deck. I don't think you noticed that the lifts are "double decker," and they use both levels when the restaurant is open. There is a screen above the doors, and you can see the other deck quite clearly and you could wave to each other from deck to deck. The rain enters the lift shafts regularly during heavy storms with some lifts recently flooded during a storm. I have never booked on line and recently turned up with 6 children and purchased tickets on arrival. Excellent video and I can't wait for more.
Great views from Sydney tower (the Eye). Cool piano music... nice choice.
Great up there. When I went up there, we see it at sunset. Very nice.
Hey Hun I see that you have Reached 161sub k well done hun . well done to you for getting that much . love watching this again . and enjoyed it ❤ xxx
I remember Centerpoint tower (as it was called then) being built. The central column went up first, then the framework of the top part was constructed around it at base level then it was gradually pulled up the column using cranes attached to the top of the column.
Lee's still to do list: Southern pylon of Sydney Harbour Bridge; The Rocks; Bondi to Coogee walk; Blue Mountains scenic World.
Excellent vlog again .. and your friend is so “laid back “.. i have been in the Auckland Sky tower.. that’s also very nice.. with a restaurant in the top.. looking forward to the next vlog 👍
There was a time, not that long ago, that if you sat in the back seat of a Cab the driver would say " your not from Australia, are you"!..
Aussies sat in the Front Seat.
With Ride Share and COVID recon that Australian heritage is also gone. 🇦🇺
I drove taxis in Melbourne in the early 80's. Males always got in the front. Plenty of women did too.
Not gone. You can still sit in the front. Just depends how big of a masktard clown the driver is, as some still wear that stinky moist gag rag while driving, and require you to sit in the back.
I'll take that view any day of the week. stunning.😮
You should see it on a clear day and with clean windows. Double stunning! Bring your binoculars.
Hi mate love your videos, in perth and Sydney last march. I wish I was there now
Another place to visit is Sydney fish Market my partner and I visit Australia every 2 years and love the place enjoy your self cheers from york
Love Andrew. What a nice fella.
Thanks Sharon ❤️. I'm blushing now 😂
It's not Gardener's Island - it's Garden Island and it was once an island - it's just been filled in to make a land bridge. The QVB faced demolition in the 1970's (not 20 years ago) like a lot of things in Sydney including the Rocks. Luckily many things were saved so we still have some history.
It is so nice to see places I’ve been to on my visits to Sydney, and some I’ve not been to. It’s good to have Andrew with you, thanks to you both for taking us around Sydney.
We stayed in the Swissotel, the tower was just outside our window. The food court in Westfield is worth a visit😊😊😊
Well guys this one was So, so Great The Sydney Tower Eye. WoW!!!!! Worth every Dollar it was really well priced at. What a Stunning view of Sydney Harbour and the Scenery. What better way, You had the Perfect Friend to join you Lee. I really did like the Soft and Gentle Jaaaaaazzz. Sydney has got so many Beautiful places to visit and just soak up the Atmosphere of this Great City. So many Photographic and Video Opportunities to capture the pure Essence of Life. Thank you very much and it is always a Pleasure to Watch such Excellent video's Lee.
Centrepoint to locals. All other names are wrong. Reminder to do the cliff walk to Coogee if you're going to Bondi Beach next. It's a workout but worth it for the views. You'll be mad fit after lol
The eye I'd because of the observation deck
I'll write a pommy letter of complaint on your behalf 😂
Mister Macmaster! Lee some fantastic scenery in the vlog again & your friend is a really nice guy great having him sharing the vlog 😊🎉
Garden Island (Navy Fleet Base East) was an “island” when Sydney was settled and where produce was grown. Hence the name. The bit of harbour between the island and the mainland was filled in with a dry dock and other Navy infrastructure during WW2. Weirdly, the Navy has a main west coast base south of Perth which is officially called Fleet Base West or HMAS Stirling. This is also on “Garden Island”
Edit: I 😂😂😂 at the “Burn your driveway” bit. Hadn’t heard that one before
Regarding the Harbour Bridge, there is a much cheaper alternative than doing the climb to the top.
You can go up to the top of the South Eastern Pylon, costs $20ish, and you get 360 degree views and can film all you want up there.
Look into it ok?
But that have to pay by card otherwise they won't accept you
Great vlog guys, really interesting 👌
30 years no problem up ladders, anything over 6' gives me the ebee geebees now. Nice view from my armchair.
Cheers.
Hi Lee thank you for your vlog. Love the views from the Sydney tower Take care. ❤
Great video with you both thank you
The Queen Victoria Building contains a time capsule that has a letter written to the people of Sydney by Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen was the only person who knows the contents of the letter and she instructed the Lord Mayor of Sydney that it is not to be opened and read until 2085.
Center Point tower, Lads. Lol. I'm Literally first fleet stock. Been on Sydney harbour my whole life, as my father had and his father going back seven or eight generations. Center Point, Tower.
Also, the Site for the colony was changed because of lack of water. The Rocks is built over a stream that's still there below street level today.
(edit) He got everything else right though and have to say was impressed by that.
Right. Back to the Video. Enjoying the series, Cheers.
Worth watching definitely 👌
Hope you are enjoying Australia Mac Master
Wow, what a view. Good video, nice music. Thanks for this one ❤👍👌
Amazing views tremendous video . Thanks.
Another great review Lee some lovely views from up there bang on
Hi that was a fantastic video and I really enjoyed it so much. The views you showed us from up at the top of the tower over Sydney are so awesome. Thank you for making this video.
Andrew is a star! Another very interesting video Lee. Get Andrew to take you to the Botanical Gardens. I enjoyed that on my visit to Sydney. They even have a dragon tree.
Thank you so much! I wanted to take him to the gardens, it's so beautiful, and he'd love the bats etc. 👍
Great views and very informative 👍
Another splendid adventure!
Stunning
Sydney should be great for sight seeing.
for an attraction like that the price was not bad cheaper than the london eye
Another great video and so informative. Keep them coming.
Absolute class. Well done Oz.
You can also dine in the revolving restaurant under or over this platform ..I’ve been there several times ..it’s fabulous.. ❤️
A great view 😀
Absolutely fantastic views 👏 👌
Thanks for the video brings back memories. I did the sky walk
ANZAC bridge is nicknamed Madonna's bra by us locals. At the west end of the bridge, on opposite sides of the roadway, there's stunning 4M high sculptures of an Aussie WW1 digger/soldier and a Kiwi WW1 soldier "angled so that the Digger faces the setting sun, while the Kiwi will greet the dawn.”.
Madonna's Bra! I love just over it, been an inner westie for 16 years now... I've never heard it called that😂.
I'm gonna officially rename it the Chilly MacMaster bridge 😂
Great veiws Lee 👍
"G'day sport",
he says. I think you've watched The Adventures of Barry McKenzie too many times. 😂😂
Well, as long as he doesn't chunder on video, it's all good.
Oh god! Even after almost 20 years I prefer the Castle! That's a great movie.
its a wonderful city
I went in a tesla taxi yesterday - first ever time - white too - I didn't know how to get in it 🤭🙃
I asked the guy - how long have you had this car"he replied 3 months - I said petrol cars are better - he said yes - I said you fill up once and go for miles - he said yes - I said I like petrol cars I prefer petrol cars - I asked him did you have a petrol car before this one - he said yes - he implied he preferred a petrol car 🙃🤭🇬🇧☀️
Great vid Lee, Andrew is a great guide, big thumbs up from me 👍
Wow, is still standing! Was there about 30 years ago...........
The QVB was restored in the 1980's and re-opened around 1990 I think. I go there every time I visit Sydney, just to look at the details that many people would not notice as they walk past.
Yup it's a great place. I love rummaging around Victorias basement
Great views , good video Lee.
Great views fab great video again lee ❤
👍Andrew 👍Lee. What a view.
Hi Lee you may already know but there is a Macmasters Beach north of Sydney I only know as I am sending a parcel there from uk.
They have a very nice restaurant up there… the best view of Sidney…..me and my partner was there in 2002….fond memories ..
Sydney

Nice peaceful video lee.

We would have to have you here permanently MacMaster
Wow! So enjoying the content Lee. Just makes me want to visit my son over there so much! 🥰☀️🥰xxx
Had a 6 course meal up there with mates 20 years ago. got stuck up top in high winds because the lifts dont work when the building is swaying
There’s a fancy revolving restaurant on the floor above where you can enjoy fine dining while doing laps around the tower
Lovely views Lee 😊
I had dinner up in Sydney tower years ago. It was amazing. So wish I was still in Sydney.
Loved the from the top.
your definitely getting around my friend.
Hey love I must say that the views from there are fantastic . and thank you to Andrew for explaining every thing .and you for showing us the beautiful sites of Sydney from above ❤xxx
Thanks Lynne, that's much appreciated ❤
@@adcoupe9860you are welcome Andrew
in my view manly is better than bondi. and so are many other beachs . dont forget qvb you walked past it yesterday ,just walk through it.
The windows were spot on 🥁
I still think of it as Centrepoint Tower - from the 80's.
- views at night beat the daytime.. (there should be some way to do both for a less than the price of a double posh cut lunch and Latte...)
Glad to hear The Queen Victoria building was saved,it has a beautiful old clock, Lee good to see you took my advice and visited the tower,it was called The AMP Tower when I was there,I seem to remember taking some unusual photos of the back of The Opera House from up there.
Evening love you have definitely made some lovely friends while you have been there in Australia Sydney. What you have shown us has been fantastic and with Andrew being with you as well . telling you what it is like there and we're too go for Fish and chips . and snacks.. that place the mall looks pretty nice thank you again for sharing this with us ❤xxx
