You are making GREAT videos about your products: Simple, quiet and honest information. Well done.

"EQ'd like you'd expect" not if I'm trying to determine what tonal effects a pedal is having on the output from my guitar. That's just like doing a comparison of different sets of strings, EQing each set for the best results.

Finally more acoustic stuff, how come yall used the bass compressor and not the standard? Does it do something different than the regular version?

For the most part, we found having the ATT/REL combined provided enough control on acoustic, and acoustic pickups and mics spit out a LOT of low-end, which the HPF was useful for.
Either can work great. Just depends on what you're doing. The pedalboard setup is my personal board and I run a bass on it.

I’m running a Calli 76 stacked edition currently. Do you have any recommended settings? When I’m building up in the bridge section of a song it’s compressing too much. I would like to just even out my picking and strumming.

@@fredsaintfelix6828 You'll likely just want to lower your IN and THRU settings. If you just want to hit peaks. Using the two LEDs, they should only activate in the very loudest parts of your signal.

I’m a fan of Origin Effects and own a stacked Cali 76. I like the videos and just want to offer one bit of constructive feedback. Perhaps it would be an improvement to move the script closer to the camera and maybe make it smaller so that John’s eye movement doesn’t seem unnatural. (I find myself being distracted from the content a little when a presenter seems “preoccupied” with their script because they are “looking over the shoulder” of the camera with eyes darting from left to right.)
Apart from this, great content as always. Cheers 👍

In the process of getting some sort of Teleprompter setup as it annoys me to!

How do you place the compressor after the IR? Does it go IR->compressor->DI?

Yep, Acoustic -> IR -> Compressor -> DI
I've found compressor before IR to sound very odd.

I'm annoyed this demo uses your Cali Bass Compressor model rather than the FET model that I own. I specifically bought the FET model to enhance live performances of my acoustic Taylor piezo (both with and without IR modeling) and often struggle to nail down the right sound, while the Bass model used here seems more turn-key and easy to achieve the sounds I'm looking for.
Your website advertising literature steers the acoustic guitarist towards the FET model and bassists towards the Bass model. As a former recording engineer who often used beloved UREI 1176 compressors on everything from vocals to drums to various instruments, I believe your line of pedal compressors are the highest quality devices on the market today, but after watching this video I think your marketing department needs to rethink nomenclature used to identify and describe your products so customers are more informed as to which model to buy.🙁

We actually use the FET last in this video, the point being you can successfully use either on almost any source. It just comes down to the feature set you value/want more, independent Attack and Release, or a HPF in the sidechain.
The FET works great on acoustic, as does the Bass. Just depends on the features you're looking for. The pedalboard in this video is my personal one, and I chose bass because my acoustic puts out a crazy amount of low-end. I'd favour the FET if I were always using IRs or had an acoustic which was more neutral.

@@OriginEffectsUK John, I appreciate you taking the time to reply. I do enjoy having separate control of both attack and release on my FET unit and, if given the choice again, would still choose FET over the Bass version. Thanks for illuminating some of the differences between the two units. Cheers.
