Looking back on this boss fight, its no wonder Xehanort originally wanted Ventus to be his first choice as a vessel if he was cultivating this guy inside him.
Xehanort wanted Ventus as his vessel before he even thought of Vanitas 😅 He decided to make the X-Blade out of Ventus and Vanitas and then decided to make Terra his vessel because he found Ventus too resistant to darkness

Aqua: Piece of cake. Spam seeker mines and square until he's dead. Ventus: Easy. Mines + Tornado=Easy kill. Terra: Good luck, you're about to enter hell itself.
DrBubbles btw you could just hide behind one of the taller and wider rocks as Terra and use Strike Raid. When you set it up correctly, he won't move around the rock and you can continue with spamming Strike Raid, beating him this way
Kyle Lindgren Terra is incredibly strong. His gameplay just sucks. Story wise Ventus is the weakest. He is on par with Aqua and was able to defeat Master Xehanort even after he possessed his body.
***** Void Gear is useful if you wanna use magic as Terra. Because let's face it, mines are useful. Second highest strength (higher than Ultima) without the abysmal magic stat of Chaos Ripper (Which is Terra's best keyblade overall). I just wish they kept the red-black color scheme of the real Vanitas' void gear.
My little brother told me he was difficult. I kinda believed him. He also told me he had only one health bar. I thought, ok, he has one health bar, cool. Then my bro made me fight him. I'm glad he only has one health bar.
@@Moalei-Lolerfry- Yeah, actually. I use Cure on Terra in this fight, for extra challenge. And it does feel like fighting another player. Granted I'm on Beginner Mode, but I still really like the fight. Kinda like 1st phase Mysterious Figure, a really fun fight under certain circumstances. For MF, it's if you're using Ventus and have Reversal + Reversal Slash equipped, optionally the Mirage Arena keyblade, too. When you hit MF with Reversal Slash, it automatically completely fills the bar sometimes, and gives you a Heal Surge for free. (I refuse to call it Heal Strike because it has way too much similarity to a Surge.)

Unbreakable Chains - endless despair, no hope to be whole again, the only way to be happy is by working with a mentally and physically abusive dark lord, in the eyes of Xehanort Vanitas is just a clone to be disposed Enter The Void - gives off a more heroic vibe, showing that Vanitas has a spark of good in him, but he's forced into fighting you, he's only wanted to be whole again and he'll acheive that goal any means necessary
I think this guy will be back they usually make secret bosses that have significance and vanitas is definitely going to be in phase 2 seeing the ux updates
I think that if this boss is cannon, it has to be with Aqua for obvious reasons. My theory about what is he, I think that he was like some kinda final unversed that was made when Vanitas died, having his powers, made up by the fear he had when he lost to Ventus.

This boss fight made me glad that I upgraded to a PSP-3000 at the time. Can you imagine doing that swirling thumbpad QTE on the original PSP? I will automatically vote up your comment, by the way, if you had to do just that and you still won the battle.
To this day, I only beat this boss as Ven reallllyyy late update (in 2022): i platinumed this entire game on Critical Mode back in 2017....yes it was torture but it's Kingdom Hearts so I went through with it
The idea of him healing is actually pretty interesting, it just needs tweaking, what if he had a limited amount of cures, that’s displayed next to his health bar, or had a slow start up, kinda like sephoroth’s heartless angel, but with more bars
Y'know, I kinda wish that this had played during Ventus's final boss, rather than for a secret boss. This has a bit more... heroic feel to it that doesn't really seem to fit a secret boss. Then again I haven't actually played the game (cause I don't have money, lol), so I don't know if I can truly judge this opinion.
The first time I faced this asshole as terra when he attacked me I ran behind a rock pillar to heal but then I saw him running around in a circle then make a B line to where I was but then turned around at the last second and I got the idea to use strike raid and I killed him that way
Think about it, Sora has Roxas, Xion, Ventus and by extension Vanitas inside him. It's not too much a stretch that Vani could come back at some point perhaps by Xehanort extracting Vanitas from Sora like he did with Ventus?
I find funny about this battle is tht he only has 1 life bar yet u think its gonna be easy at first but after a couple a minutes you will be crying or wishing tht this will end soon.

I love the bonus/optional bosses in the KH series. Granted Seph and the Ice/Rock titan had to be done before the story was over but they add some level of grind to KH, it keeps you going even after the epic story is done. THAT is good placement.
I find myself incapable of believing that fighting this guy is ever possible to be a 'cakewalk', at any difficulty... well, unless it's the type of 'cakewalk' I recall in one video I saw on TH-cam the other day... "It's like walking through a field of cake, only some of the cake is actually... landmines." ... Sounds like a pretty accurate depiction of a "Cakewalk fight of Vanitas Sentiment".
Vanitas was nothing more than an abomination and a heartless creature who knows only darkness and evil. And with this hidden boss fight battle, it is hard to feel anything for him.
I defeated him only with Hi-potions. Use a Tornado or Thunder surge make the boss extra easier. This battle has to be an amazing challenge! Keyblade to Keyblade! Danm! I love this fight, I'm going to kill him again!

Such an amazing song. It's a shame it's for such a terrible boss fight, but I feel no guilt for strike raid cheesing him to death. A boss as cheap as VR deserves nothing but a cheap death.
This boss wasn't all that cheap to me. He does have some predictability and only one bar of health. Mysterious figure on the other hand is a cheating ass.
It's cheap, but effective: There's a very large rock outcropping. Equip all your slots (except maybe two or three with Elixirs/healing items (Do NOT use healing spells)) with Raid commands. Vanitas' Sentiment's AI is terrible when it comes to going around the outcropping. You can safely use the raid commands to deal damage. At some points he'll actually figure out how to make it around the outcropping so run away from him around the rock outcropping until he's stuck again, then repeat.
Some people had a theory about Vanitas maybe being in KH3, Since he's part of Ventus and ventus' heart is sleeping in Sora, so Vanitas is asleep also was theorised.. And also the fact that Sora could see Vanitas in a scene in KH 3D Dream Drop Distance, so let's hope Vanitas will be back :D !
Ansem and Xemnas were defeated and reformed as Master Xehanort. Still didn't stop them from coming back along with Master Xehanort. Simple answer: Time Travel

This track is way, way too epic to waste on a lingering sentiment.
This is the equivalent of you the player playing as Aqua, Terra, or Ven against a level 99 keyblade wielder.
Such an amazing song. It's a shame it's for such a terrible boss fight, but I feel no guilt for strike raid cheesing him to death. A boss as cheap as VR deserves nothing but a cheap death.

This boss wasn't all that cheap to me. He does have some predictability and only one bar of health. Mysterious figure on the other hand is a cheating ass.

It's cheap, but effective: There's a very large rock outcropping. Equip all your slots (except maybe two or three with Elixirs/healing items (Do NOT use healing spells)) with Raid commands. Vanitas' Sentiment's AI is terrible when it comes to going around the outcropping. You can safely use the raid commands to deal damage. At some points he'll actually figure out how to make it around the outcropping so run away from him around the rock outcropping until he's stuck again, then repeat.
Some people had a theory about Vanitas maybe being in KH3, Since he's part of Ventus and ventus' heart is sleeping in Sora, so Vanitas is asleep also was theorised.. And also the fact that Sora could see Vanitas in a scene in KH 3D Dream Drop Distance, so let's hope Vanitas will be back :D !
