I literally defeated this guy with my last keyblade card... a 0 value card wich deflected his sleight and allowed me to strike the last hit. It was like killing your enemy with a little knife after wasting all of your assault-rifle rounds.
Who else was surprised after they thought after beating the 2nd form that that was the end of the game? I went "oh f%#&, there's another one" my card deck was not prepared at all for this. GBA veterans would understand this.
Even though we most likely won’t fight Marluxia ever again in the kingdom hearts series now that he’s a somebody again. I hope we get to see his spectre again. Simple because she’s cool and menacing
Maybe no in the similar sense of Ansem' s guardian is Terra, that once Terra is freed the Guardian is no more. If the specter truly holds Strelitzia' s heart, he'd free her right away

The ultimate remaster addition out of CoM. You know that mega CHILLS down your spine when you face this boss for the first time and not knowing Marluxia hid this big surprise in Re:CoM.
And when you think about it he is the only villain (and I mean by that who is willingly a villain as Xion fight Roxas against her will) who have been the Final Boss of a game in place of another Xehanort's version in the entire Xehanort saga, that's quite impressive, it's sad Marluxia was downnplayed in KH3 in gameplay.
One of my all time favorite final bosses the KH series. He’s one of the only villains whom Sora has a personal beef with. His goal to brainwash Sora into becoming his puppet in order to take over the Organization was pretty messed up. A first view into a more mature and darker plot in the series.
Too bad Sora became an absolut Idiot over the Brainwashing course of DDD and was an Idiot in KH3 all the way. Never in the later Series has Sora looked at the Death of a foe with an honest look of rage or hate as much as when he defeated marluxia and witnessed his dissapearing.
Yeah, the only thing that gets close to "beef" would be Xehanort in KH3, but Sora matured since COM, so he doesn't remain in his rage after beating him.
I dnt think its exactly her but something like a nobody manifestation of marluxia's/lauriam's memories of her. It has to have some connection to her tho.

Such a beautiful song for such a frustrating game. This battle was definitely the highlight of Chain of Memories, only problem I had was if you died on the second portion of it, you had to start all over again. It was so stressful and rage inducing, but coming back to listen to this theme really makes me wish I could’ve had a better experience with this game.

What if the real reason that Marluxia and Larxene rebelled against the Organization was because they found about Xehanort's plan to make them all vessels? I think that this would be a decent way to try and reintroduce their sombodies as characters in the next Kingdom Hearts game.

Each of the main Organization XIII nobodies rules over one kind of lesser Nobody. Marluxia's Nobodies aren't known, but Xemnas has Sorcerers (Which makes no sense since he summons a dragon and all)
Axel still had his heart in a way, I think Axel couldn't put his entire being into that attack, he still kept feeling until the end. Marluxia and Xemnas cast away all they had left and gained those bodies, it was their last straw. Marluxia gave his life for death and Xemnas gave his life for rage and nothingness, though Axel gave his life to save his last remaining friend.

If you watch his battle sprites closely you'll see they're a bit suspect. It's a shame, Marluxia would have been an epic female villain.
I THINK Marluxia was in the dark about the 13 vessels however he did want to create his own Kingdom Hearts so it would be another step in Master Xehanort's plans anyway.

Think of it like this, Marluxia was the most prominent traitor of Organization XIII, and to their knowledge, the ultimate goal was to become complete by creating Kingdom Hearts. That sounds pretty good for a Nobody, right? I figure Marluxia heard about what was actually happening, and rebelled against it. In that sense, why would he want to be part of Xehanort's grand scheme?

I'd doubt that. Axel wants to be human fairly badly, and he doesn't have a nobody "essence" as I would like to call it. I think that giving up on becoming whole would create a separation between the heart and body even more, making the shell created by the nobody more powerful because it relies on separation from the heart in the first place.
No, I specifically read "We know some of the hooded members, and we don't know others", this doesn't mean Young Xehanort etc. nor does it mean the old Org members, at least until one of them is confirmed to be a member. Xehanort meant they lack 3 members since Terra's body is Xemnas and Ventus and Sora belong to him (until Lea saved him), which means: Riku, Mickey, Aqua, Kairi. 4 lights. He probably didn't know about Lea; he smiled when L. saved Sora because X. then knew they could replace Sora.
As much as I despised the card system of this game, this final boss made it all worth it. This might be one of my favourite final bosses in gaming. Even though I cheesed it hard with ragnarok and sonic blade + jafar and Marluxia card, it was such a spectacle
i would hope that the rest of organization xiii's somebodies appear in kingdom hearts 3. maybe marluxia would be a great party member to either riku or sora's party if he still has gripes against xehanort. he might be in a world like radiant garden thats being threatened by xehanort and probably could be a good keyblade wielder like axel would be.
If you remember correctly that if both the nobody and a heartless of a person gets destroyed then the person they were would return to normal. So since Marluxia was destroyed, I would think that the heartless counterpart would have been destroyed along the way as well so it could point out that he could return in Kingdom Hearts 3.

*Spoiler alert* I was thinking about that as well. You don't see Xaldin, Lexaeus, Larxene, Demyx, or Luxord either. So it's possible that they are members of the real organization along with Marluxia. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
only xigbar and saix are enough strong for become two of the thirteen darknesses that master xehanort needs.In the game master Xehanort says that the other members of the organization xiii were too weak or traitourus and so they can't be used for his plans
Unfortunately Marly will not be back, not as a member of the new Organization XIII anyway. in 3D it was said that traitors were not suitable to become one of Xehanort's 13 darknesses. It is possible that we could see Marly again in the future though, just not as a member.
Now that is a point that I cannot argue. I guess I missed that little detail because Sora's power has been pretty inconsistent. In Re:COM he did things the KH2 Sora couldn't do thanks to those cards. He also lost all his previous abilities and had to relearn them from scratch in KH2.
He might have been able to. His Nobody servant, the Specter, is devastating in battle and virtually invincible. Sora was able to beat him and the Specter only due to the rules of Castle Oblivion. Neither Xemnas nor his giant dragon mech were that powerful. Xemnas was able to come close to defeating Sora and Riku only by sucking them into his nightmare dimension.

But turns out the male form works great too. Marluxia now becomes the "Fabolously Beautiful" of the Organization and he does stand out from the rest.
I THINK Marluxia was in the dark about the 13 vessels however he did want to create his own Kingdom Hearts so it would be another step in Master Xehanort's plans anyway.
I personally don't think so. Think of it like this, Marluxia was the most prominent traitor of Organization XIII, and to their knowledge, the ultimate goal was to become complete by creating Kingdom Hearts. That sounds pretty good for a Nobody, right? I figure Marluxia heard about what was actually happening, and rebelled against it. In that sense, why would he want to be part of Xehanort's grand scheme?

I'd doubt that. Axel wants to be human fairly badly, and he doesn't have a nobody "essence" as I would like to call it. I think that giving up on becoming whole would create a separation between the heart and body even more, making the shell created by the nobody more powerful because it relies on separation from the heart in the first place.
Some just never got the chance...
Sephiroth might see it as a way to obtain a keyblade like xigbar and to further his own dark powers.

No, I specifically read "We know some of the hooded members, and we don't know others", this doesn't mean Young Xehanort etc. nor does it mean the old Org members, at least until one of them is confirmed to be a member. Xehanort meant they lack 3 members since Terra's body is Xemnas and Ventus and Sora belong to him (until Lea saved him), which means: Riku, Mickey, Aqua, Kairi. 4 lights. He probably didn't know about Lea; he smiled when L. saved Sora because X. then knew they could replace Sora.

As much as I despised the card system of this game, this final boss made it all worth it. This might be one of my favourite final bosses in gaming. Even though I cheesed it hard with ragnarok and sonic blade + jafar and Marluxia card, it was such a spectacle
i would hope that the rest of organization xiii's somebodies appear in kingdom hearts 3. maybe marluxia would be a great party member to either riku or sora's party if he still has gripes against xehanort. he might be in a world like radiant garden thats being threatened by xehanort and probably could be a good keyblade wielder like axel would be.

If you remember correctly that if both the nobody and a heartless of a person gets destroyed then the person they were would return to normal. So since Marluxia was destroyed, I would think that the heartless counterpart would have been destroyed along the way as well so it could point out that he could return in Kingdom Hearts 3.

Oh right, that too. Well, Nomura DID say the yet unknown members of Org XIII are part familiar and part new, so I h´guess we can add some of the old members ^^

*Spoiler alert* I was thinking about that as well. You don't see Xaldin, Lexaeus, Larxene, Demyx, or Luxord either. So it's possible that they are members of the real organization along with Marluxia. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Unfortunately Marly will not be back, not as a member of the new Organization XIII anyway. in 3D it was said that traitors were not suitable to become one of Xehanort's 13 darknesses. It is possible that we could see Marly again in the future though, just not as a member.

Now that is a point that I cannot argue. I guess I missed that little detail because Sora's power has been pretty inconsistent. In Re:COM he did things the KH2 Sora couldn't do thanks to those cards. He also lost all his previous abilities and had to relearn them from scratch in KH2.

He might have been able to. His Nobody servant, the Specter, is devastating in battle and virtually invincible. Sora was able to beat him and the Specter only due to the rules of Castle Oblivion. Neither Xemnas nor his giant dragon mech were that powerful. Xemnas was able to come close to defeating Sora and Riku only by sucking them into his nightmare dimension.
