      hey if your happy with your daily drive then this is just a luxury to show of to your mates. I honestly dont even use it that much.....well until I go offroad! If you have an aggressive tune it really smooths out the power, brings it on nicer, sometimes I even use it in heavy traffic, just to calm down the engine. but like I said it's really a luxury, and now that I have one I wouldnt own a 4wd without it. it's just one of those things you have to try 😉

    Hi, Adam Abello I like your videos a lot and I am a subscriber because it helps me and others, if you don't mind can you give feedback or review throttle controllers like 9-drive, iDrive, and other throttle response controllers.
    Regarding safety issues, My question is what if the throttle controller's device suddenly fails? or the little wire cut? Do we still have the control of gas pedal? or it will be back to normal mode? Thank you for hoping you can enlighten us. thank you again!

    • @AdamAbello
      @AdamAbello  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi mate, good question 👍 and probably better answered by each manufacturer, but if anything happen to your throttle cable with or without a controller on it you would loose all acceleration, if a controller was to play up I would expect you would feel it in the way your car was behaving contrary to how your controller should work. Remember you have bypassed the foot pedal so if the controller fails, it will not revert back to normal until you remove the controller.
      Long story short, I expect they would be no less safer if they failed then if your throttle failed.

    What about fuel economy,no one seems to mention this and im curious to know.

    • @AdamAbello
      @AdamAbello  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Bill, fuel economy is subjective. Just like every company claims that if you tune your vehicle you will have 15-20% increase in fuel economy.... but this rarely translates to real life savings.
      Fuel economy savings always come back the driving habits, the idrive can help a driver curb bad habits by reducing sensitivity of the throttle (eco mode) .. but if you are using ultimate mode you will be able to use more fuel.
      Just like when you tune your vehicle you have all this extra power at your disposal and its hard not to use it. :)

    • @hartzland7658
      @hartzland7658 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@AdamAbello Sorry to be a kill joy Adam but you are wrong! You have NO! EXTRA POWER! at your disposal & you will use NO! more fuel, other than you stomping on the peddle because you think you have more power. Get this straight people who are buying these things! All its doing is making your thottle response more sensitive! That's it! And if any salesmen is telling you different, he is lying to make a sale. If your mate is telling you shit, like "its got heaps more grunt now man" Tell him to get of the drug's & get a proven, reputable chip or dyno tune. Then & only then will you unleash some hidden power from these sluggish, under tuned, V8 diesels. Just bear in mind, the more power you extract, the more fuel you will use, the greater the explosion, the greater the heat, the greater the wear & tear. It's the law of physics & no one! can deny it. Not even some tuner telling you otherwise, they are lying to sell a product. Toyota's engineers tuned these engine's to give modest power with long reliable sevice life. If we Increase power, we decrease service life & use more fuel. THATS THE WAY IT IS!!!

    • @AdamAbello
      @AdamAbello  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Hi Adam thanks for the video. I have a diesel ute and If I depress the pedal it has about 1 second delayed response and then the ute accelerates. If I install iDrive, would the delay be gone and the ute will accelerate as soon as you depress the pedal?

    • @AdamAbello
      @AdamAbello  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      depends what the delay is, it just makes your pedal more responsive, ie 100 throttle with 10% press of the pedal, on ultimate mode. if you have turbo lag this will not revome it but might make it more tolerable
