The 2013-14 Brooklyn Nets season ended with disappointing results.
    This team failed so hard.
Brook got hurt, KG got old, Terry and Kirilenko were useless.
    Pierce didn't like being there.
DWill and Joe couldn't carry the team.
    JKidd bailed after the season.

Ive seen this misinformation going around that Brooklyn traded 4 Suns picks to the Nets for 2 of their own picks back at the same time as the Mikal trade. The Rockets have control of Suns 2027 and 2029 first rounders. THATS IT.

  • @sirstewartwallace3917

An old school example would be the late 90's Houston Rockets. They tried to win with an aging Hakeem, Drexler, and Barkley, no bench, and Matt Maloney starting every game. They went from a perennial contender to middle-of-the-pack to outright mediocre in record time.
Meanwhile, I don't think the Knicks get that championship with Thibs coaching. He's the Buck Showalter of basketball: often good in the regular season but dreadful in the playoffs.

    • @NDTD-je8wl
      @NDTD-je8wl 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

The Nets' current situation isn't so bad.
      Draft Assets:
They have 15 first-round picks and 11 second-round picks between 2025 and 2031 (13 firsts are unprotected), plus unprotected first-round swaps with the Suns and the Knicks.
In next year's draft (considered pretty good), they have four first-rounders and two second-rounders.
      Salary Cap Situation:
      - Brooklyn is under the first Apron.
      - For the second year in a row the Nets will be operating under the luxury tax (don't have to worry about repeater tax/penalties for a while).
      - Next off-season the Nets will have more salary cap room than any other team. This can be used for free agents, or beneficial trades with teams in cap trouble.
      Current Team:
      - The Nets are in tank mode for the 2025 draft (and likely 2026) and do not have a Superstar.
      - Have veterans that they still may trade to contenders. (Dorian Finney Smith, Cam Johnson, etc.)
      - But they still have a nucleus of productive young players, that they have on good deals.
While this will not be a good season, with significant draft assets and a great cap situation, the Nets have many options for a bright future.

Now you have him go to the Knicks where I think his play style will play to the team’s strength. On the Julius Randle side, I think his play style will severely hinder the T Wolves.

I could see them pulling off a season like that and breaking through to the conference finals as they haven’t been there since 2000. For the Atlanta Hawks when they broke through in 2015, that was their first time since 1970 and it wasn’t until the 1970-71 season that the current Eastern and Western Conference formats were created. Back then they had a Western and Eastern Division

Knicks got really good, I’m glad they gave us so many picks too. If they don’t win they should be ashamed 😅
PS. Bucks signing Doc Rivers is the biggest reason they lost, injuries had a part in it but ffs he is not a good coach.. He only let’s his players make the plays, he draws zero fucking plays.. I wonder how this is so big mystery to them when everything is there to see..

The Suns 🌞 gave up everything going all in. And with only conditional picks until 2031 its going to get rough. Suns in for a tough go of it for awhile.

After seeing Shai and the 2019 clippers took the mighty warriors to 6 game in the first round, i knew he is a star in the making. After going to the Thunder after the PG trade, he suprisingly went to 2020 playoff with cp3 and a bunch of young players. At this time i know the Thunder will be dangerous later down the road. And now the Thunder is one of the most complete team this season only slightly behind the Celtics. Tks Kawhi

Maybe the best all in push, perhaps the most riskiest all in push, has to go to the Raptors when they traded Demar, Jakob, and a 2019 1st RP (Ended up being Keldon Johnson) for a 1 year expiring contracts of Kawhi and Danny Green. A risk like that (especially in hindsight) is something that can't be replicated again in sports history.

11:14 33 isn't "old" for the NBA anymore, man. Early 30s of today isn't the same as Early 30s from 20 years or even 10 years ago. When you hit 35-36 that when your game starts to age. Then again Steph & KD are 36 still Top 5 - 10 best players in the league.
