For those who don't know, Connor loves Napoleon and Austerlitz Napoleon's most celebrated battle.
He was also very interested in politics from a very young age

Something I didn't catch the first time round, is that he's (Logan) created a myth that he does not like water for all his kids, so that they've never seen the scars. Obviously, Marcia has seen them, and he can go swimming around her, but as he needs to hold his power and not show any weakness, it means that the kids can't begin to understand why he is the way he is or even show empathy/sympathy for the abuse he suffered as a child from his Uncle.

Who knows, I think him going into the pool for a swim, kinda proves that his fear of all water is a lie
@@richpipe17 Yeah I don’t think he has a fear of water (or maybe he does but he’s reached a point where a swim in a pool is doable, especially with Marcia edging him on.) But it’s clear he suffered some form of abuse as a kid, which Ewan alludes to later in the series.

Logan's attacks on his kids are so fine-tuned because he knows how to manipulate them and what gets them upset. Kendall desperately wants to be someone important and Logan calling him a nobody was one of the worst things he could say to him. If this therapy session wasn't clear, they're terrified of Logan and it's like Mean Girls, the meaner Logan is to them the more they want to win him back and Logan knows when to throw them a bone here and there like getting Roman to do the thing in Japan because Shiv was mad at Logan and Kendall was being blackballed. He needed at least one of them to be on his side. Even negative attention from Logan means they have their dad's attention.

In case you haven't already googled it, the battle of Austerlitz, which took place near Újezd u Brna in Czechia was were the French under Napoleon, and their German allies of Bavaria, Würrtemberg and Baden, won pretty decisively against a coalition of the Russians and Austrians in December of 1805, ending the third coalition war with a french victory, resulting in the peace treaty of Pressburg

I think there is also something to the idea that you’re almost incentivized to do drugs if everyone already thinks you’re high.
Also to note, Shiv and Con mentioned their dad hates water, but Logan has them thinking that because he doesn’t want to show his scars… doesn’t want to show weakness.
one of my fav episodes from the show, logan's cruelty is full on displayed and you feel for the kids so much.

Austerlitz name came probalby from the Connor's fascination with Napoleon. It was one of his most famous battles, called Battle of the Three Emperors

Connor's genuinely one of the best characters in TV history. He might not be the main focus of the show but literally every word out of his mouth is tremendous.
Probably a coincidence, but notice that Kendall does meth, but it's the counsellor that loses teeth! Like an analogy of the very wealthy having the ones "beneath" them suffer their own consequences for them.
You're confused. Austerlitz isn't Auschwitz. Would been fun if Connor named his NM ranch that... Not even Con is that dumb. Haha 🙂

@@jess64792 it was a joke, referencing how Napoleon defeated Austria and Russia in the battle of Austerlitz. It was quite a victory and I assume that's why Connor choose that name for his ranch
Connor is the only Roy I like. He's just a rich dude who is fulfilled for the most part and likes his weird hobbies. Him and Willa are in all honestly the healthiest couple and they just honestly seem to be enjoying themselves.
