As someone who lived briefly in Hawaii I’m aware of the word ohana’s meaning (family) but honestly thought it could be your last name or a pleasant name in general. I do applaud your effort to change your name but IMO it’s not always necessary but we’re all not the same and don’t share the same bonds that some words can mean to us as an ethnicity, culture, religion, or merely a way to reflect our personal thoughts/values such as you’re doing. Kudos! 😀
