Because he knew between his career and his own disposition he was ill suited to it, sending him to life with his parents was probably the best for Alexander. Remember Klingons are warriors. Worf sending his son to be raised by his parents while he himself serves in starfleet is probably quite normal by Klingon standards
Definitely ... I mean Just the setting is something that a Klingon warrior would prefer. A giant movable embassy VS an outpost on the edge of your most exposed and endangered border
On TNG, Worf was a fish out of water, a brash, young lieutenant eager to prove himself in battle, on a ship of scientists and diplomats. By DS9, Worf is still a warrior, but more mature, and better suited for command. He becomes a strategic operations officer, and has to navigate first the Klingons and then the Dominion in war situations. He gets to shine.
TNG can't be underappreciated. Me personally love DS9 much more all the way. But TNG did all the ground work that DS9 could expand upon. This includes Worf's character ark from an eager to prove himself in battle lieutenant to a commander who can make the hard choices and decline offers for glory even if it means to live in exile.
Could you imagine the sorts of "I've got something stuck up my ass, doc" cases you'd see in the 24th century? Granted, it'd probably be easy, just transport whatever it is out, but still.

Some subtle gender role reversal going on here: Dax as "aggressor", post-coitally playing with Worf's long hair which has come unbound (a traditional cinematic shorthand for JBF). They may have been too timid to include any LGBT characters but the writers got away with a few things here and there. :)

I'm surprised a male Ferengi is dating a female Klingon as they prefer their women submissive with no brain or life of their own while the Klingon women are as intelligent strong and powerful as their men so it's good to see these two hilarious characters together! 😆
He has dated many species and he is in love with a Kardashian. The Klingon Quark slept with was his ex wife.....I know many people who have made that mistake.

There was a brief hint at it in TNG with Dr. Crusher being involved with another Trill, that had his symbiote implanted into a female host.
I thought Jadzia was bisexual? I mean there was that one episode where she found the new female host of a symbiote that had belonged to the spouse of a previous host of hers and they briefly rekindled the relationship and kissed before they were forced to break it off. Considering how intimate the kiss was there had to have definitely been some sexual attraction there
She's been different genders before so I suppose she qualifies as gender fluent, i.e., no specific gender.
