It's ironically heart-warming just how much Vlad and Isabella truly loved each other. The fact that Vlad initially refused to give her the blood-kiss speaks volumes, and only gave it to her as a last resort. And the fact that Isabella, upon hearing of her husband's final death, threw herself to her own death just to join him. One of the few cases of true love in the Warhammer world.

You know I often get into fiction by imagining myself in the settings. However 40k is hard to get into , because I would never want to imagine myself anywhere in 40k lore.
Both warhammer settings are unreasonably gothic, to a point it often gets dull and repetitive: the end of the world happends every tuesday, but is stopped by a duel between the commanders.
In fantasy just imagine yourself as a dwarf ranger roaming the mountains and scouting enemy armies. Or an Ogre mercenary traveling the world in search of gold and good food. In 40K, You better be in the Tau Empire, son. Because if you play nice no one will treat you better.
@Alex The Awsome Your statement lacks context. I'm assuming you're referring to GoT as the fanfic, as the TV series took 'creative license' with the source book, and the book itself is "inspired" by the war of the roses. The first Vampire war is canonical warhammer lore. If you are wondering why you get to play as vlad in the video game, that would be because it's nearly impossible to perma-kill an elder vampire in Warhammer. To give you an idea, Mannfred, Vlads 'childe', revives because someone died a little to close to were Mannfred himself was killed about four hundred years before. Basically? even a garbage tier necromancer can bring an ashed vampire back with a little effort. But if the body remains, they can literally come back without assistance should even a little blood (man or beast) reach them.

I do think though that you missed some of the biggest and most defining character of the Von Carsteins and missed the "heart" in his and Isabella's story. They were much more nuanced that just your typical moustache twirling villains. Vlad actually had human servants and up to a point had the respect (and fear!) of Sylvania, who were considered a backwater by the rest of the Empire. Isabella's demise deserves more than a last foot note at the end of your video. Why not mention the lore story from the old vampire counts army book? it details Vlad's rise to power on that stormy night and the late Otto's demise, you actually end up liking Vlad, especially compared to his other vampiric inheritors (hide your cats).
this was really great ! thank you for making this!
I love Albert Einsteen. Love how the voice in the begginning of the video says: "Show yourself von Carstein..... then you get to hear Carsteen hahaha
Haven't seen you before, but I smashed that subscribe button.
My lad Vlad is within my top 3 Vampires, and quite possibly top 5 Warhammer Fantasy Characters at all. Abhorash being possibly the top of all time (Sad that GW didn't grab the opportunity to introduce him to the game during End Times)
However, I have a question;
Where did you find the lore stating that Vashanesh and Vlad are the same guy? I have read into it a lot, and only found speculations:
Cheers!
Welcome to the channel my friend! You can find the Vashanesh reference in the "Night's Dark Masters" book (Fantasy Roleplay) pages 28 - 30
Love the highly detailed documentary style approach!
