Another one for the list, we did wire mesa and camped close last time over looking the rim. You’re providing good inspiration for another trip in the camper. My wife and I love to ride and camp. These types of trails are in our wheelhouse. Turning 60 and still loving the rides. Thanks for the videos great job.
Yup, the list never stops growing...cross one off and add a couple new ones! You can pretty much put all the trails on Gooseberry/Grafton/Wire Mesas on your list (maybe Grafton is a little too janky)...hunker down at some fabulous campsite and ride!
I don’t know how old you are but you are a very good rider, especially for your age. You have no fear! I’m 65 and have only been riding for a couple years. Some of the stuff you take on scares me just watching. This trail, for instance, I would enjoy taking on but for the exposure. I enjoy your website and will be using it to plan rides in the future. Thanks Ron for setting a good example for us older folks.
Thanks for the compliment! And I’m glad I am an inspiration…never too old to ride a bike…whatever you are comfortable riding. Just pedal to stay young! Thanks for watching!
I LOVE Gooseberry Mesa trails. Wire Mesa is very fun too. Great place to camp and explore for a week. And I get why some people don’t like it. If you’re used to the blue and black trails in someplace like Bentonville, Utah and Arizona will chew you up and spit you out.
Yes, we are not too old to still rock some fabulous MTB trails! I now travel in a converted Ford Transit, customized for MTBing. I started out in hotels but found that I was travelling for such long durations that I was blowing way to much money. Meanwhile, I also discovered some fabulous places to camp near MTB trailheads, and very scenic overlooks and so decided I should make the camping a part of the MTB ride lifestyle. I then evolved into tent camping at these trailheads, but the mobilizing and collapsing of a camp for only a day or two here and there, over a long 3-4 week trip was way too much hassle. So, I recently got the van and have been converting it to suit my riding. It has definitely been the way to go! Thanks for watching!
Yes, I was actually surprised with how good the trail is...having not ridden it during the numerous repeat trips to Gooseberry...it hadn't previously been on my radar. But it is now! Thanks for watching!
Yup, I guess you mean Grafton Downhill…yup. That’s a scary jank fest…but also offers very cool and unique views as you descend the Mesa. But one needs their nerves!

Yup, Gooseberry and the surrounding mesas are pretty special. You can come back year after year and never disappoint! Thanks for watching!
It's nice to see an older rider filming rides, it gives perspective to us older guys for trail difficulty. Do you travel in a van or something bigger?

Awesome ride and video. Looks like a great trail.
Yup, it’s a great trail…among many on Gooseberry Mesa. Thanks for watching!
Another one of the trails from your videos now on my to do list.
Yup, the list never stops growing...cross one off and add a couple new ones! My "to do" list is now about 400 new trails!
One of my favorites in the area.

Great video. I will hit that one on my next trip down there. Slack line looked crazy!! Have you ridden Grafton?
