- I never found this scene on youtube and I think that's a pity, because this scene just made me cry (well, like almost every scene in this episode) and it's like...Jane's realizing he has to tell Lisbon the truth about his feelings for her...this is a really wonderful scene, so I wanted it to be on youtube :D

I love that light bulb suddenly turning on for Jane. This moment is almost equal to his confession to her.
I love this men's therapy session with all the masculine topics in that kind of confessional getting drunk and exposing their weaknesses.
Thank you so much for uploading this scene. I have been trying to see it again for months. It is a great scene and an important scene. It shows when Jane wakes up and realizes what he has to do. The guys description of himself apparently is spot on as to how Jane feels about himself. It shows a vulnerable side of Jane. I agree with you that it is a pity it wasn't uploaded sooner. It is a wonderful scene.
Exactly. This scene is why Lisbon was right to stand up for herself and demand what she deserved. All the girl wanted to hear was how Jane felt about her, after waiting for him to recover from losing his family for 12 years, without a con, without take-backs.
I'm surprised Jane feels fear, cause he's such a bad-mannered jerk all the time. And self-hatered too, if he still hates himself then why he killed RJ in the first place?
He was afraid to love again because of the murder of his wife and child. The pain of losing them was so tremendously great. He feels guilty that his actions provoked RJ and RJ chose to kill his wife and daughter but RJ is the one that killed them and for that he deserves to die. Patrick Jane acts like a jerk to keep people from getting into a close relationship with him.
In this scene, I started sobbing and rolling on the floor because of all the feelings... 😍😭😭😭💔
Patrick having his "Holly Golightly in the cab scene" epiphany is such a lovely emotion to capture.
Another clever aspect to this episode is the writers present us with characters who actually liked each other but had been held apart by misunderstanding and circumstances, and characters who lost their chance at love due to pride. Both men waiting with Patrick in the hotel room towards the end represent the choice he has to make: hopeful reconciliation or alienation and loss.

The two people don't quite like each other.
Both were afraid of the gaze of others and the consequences.
Wes first of all he is in love with a young girl who is underage and he didn't say anything because of the possible sanctions. Also he was afraid of the gaze of others, he was ashamed of himself and of the judgment of others.
Randolph is the same thing, he was afraid of the consequences for his office and the eyes of others so he too was ashamed of himself.
Patrick is in the same reasoning: he is ashamed of himself, ashamed of what he was, ashamed of the consequences of what he was.
But what triggers his action is when Randolph says that he destroyed the best thing that ever happened to him and the best thing in his life for futile reasons and once he realized that he was too late.
Patrick understands that his shame of himself and his fear of consequences make him miss out on his life and lose the most precious thing that has happened to him.
Because like Wes he is afraid of the eyes of others because the others judged him like Teresa, getting angry, judged him.
And he leaves to tell her Yes, she's right, but if he acts like this it's because he's so afraid that it petrifies him. That he is on the edge of the cliff and he doesn't know if he will "survive"
I doubt he had the thought to tell her that he loved her; he wasn't ready yet at that point. But when he sees her shake her head when he tells her that he can't imagine waking up in the morning knowing that he won't see her, he tells himself that she still doesn't believe him and is overwhelmed. through emotion and his desire for her to understand, he told her. And as he says “it feels good to say it but it scares me”.
It's the reaction of a desperate man who no longer knows what to do to hold on to the one person for whom he would do anything.

I don't know why I like this scene so much... Not his moment of decision, more how much he's wallowing in self pity....
It was his moment of decision, to get off his ass literally and tell the woman he loves and who loves him how he feels.
